As the casting director for the Geffen Playhouse, Phyllis Schuringa has one of the best jobs in Los Angeles. The crème de la crème walks through the doors there, albeit nervously clutching scripts in hand. And Schuringa happily puts them at ease and draws the best from them.A recent task has been to find replacements for the Geffen's co-production with the Intiman Theatre of Lynn Nottage's "Ruined."
