“Superman & Lois,” whose second season arrives on HBO Max today, isn’t your typical Superman story. For one thing, it gives the Man of Steel and his Pulitzer-winning wife a pair of teenage sons. For another, it has a distinctly modern — see also: post-recession — approach to Superman’s hometown, which it achieves through its expert interplay between production design and photography. If you aren’t watching the show, you might be missing out on a timely depiction of Superman’s home, one that demands to be seen not only on its own terms, but as a thoughtful update to the version that exists within the cinematic memory.

Once Arrow fans had a chance to digest the official synopsis for the season finale, none of us could help pondering which returning familiar faces it was referring to. Whether your suspicions be directed toward Talia al Ghul, Ricardo Diaz or Curtis Holt, these are all entirely valid choices, but some recently presented evidence may hint at who one of them may be.
Believe it or not, the network has released two more images from next week’s episode, “Living Proof,” and they feature none other than Colin Donnell’s Tommy Merlyn. I don’t know why these couldn’t have been included in the original set released earlier this week, but you’re free to check them out below.
As longtime viewers of the series should recall, Tommy met his untimely demise during season 1’s finale but has appeared in flashbacks and hallucinations in the time since. More recently,...

You know, I think it’s about time we give up hope on Emiko Queen redeeming herself. Not only did she allow for her father’s boat to be sabotaged at sea years ago, but she also killed her mentor, Dante, just last week on Arrow. And if that weren’t enough, the Ninth Circle leader literally brought the house down on Oliver last night during “Confessions” by trapping him in an explosion.
Obviously, the Emerald Archer isn’t dead because we wouldn’t have a TV show to watch otherwise, but he’s certainly seen better days. For the most part, his teammates feature in the photos promoting next week’s adventure, “Living Proof,” but you’ll find him in the accompanying gallery nonetheless.

Much to the chagrin of a good percentage of the viewing audience, series stalwart Emily Bett Rickards will soon be exiting Arrow, opting not to stick around for the final season. And to add to the surprise, she’s supposedly set to bounce before the season finale arrives.
Of course, theories have been swirling as to just how Felicity Smoak will be written off the series. I have my own ideas, but the freshly released synopsis for season 7’s penultimate episode, “Living Proof,” may provide some hints:
Oliver Is Put To The Test — Oliver (Stephen Amell) finds himself in a precarious position. Scpd shows up with a warrant for Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). Gordon Verheul directed the episode written by Oscar Balderrama & Sarah Tarkoff (#721). Original airdate 5/6/2019.

Arrow season 6 has seen a major shake-up of the series’ status quo. With his duties already split between being mayor of Star City and a father to his son William, Oliver Queen passed the mantle of Green Arrow onto his old buddy John Diggle back in episode 2. It’s been a bumpy ride for him, though, as the former soldier has been struggling to deal with both adjusting to being Team Arrow’s new leader and coping with his Ptsd after the events of the season 5 finale.
In next week’s episode, titled “Thanksgiving,” the real Green Arrow will return when Oliver Queen is forced to don the hood once again. It’s not clear exactly what prompts him to step back into active vigilante duty, but it’s likely that it has something to do with the return of Black Siren, Laurel Lance’s evil doppelganger from Earth-2, who...

The CW has released the first batch of images from Wednesday’s episode of Arrow, and they feature a meeting between Felicity Smoak and her father, The Calculator (his true name has yet to be revealed). Making his debut in this week’s instalment of the DC Comics adaptation, it was revealed that he had plans to destroy Star City and appears to be just as unaware about Felicity’s secret life as she is about his.
Fans of Arrow have been speculating for a while that he would be revealed as Felicity’s father, so the twist didn’t have a huge impact, but it certainly still opens the door to some new storytelling possibilities.
