- She was charged with attempted murder, after she allegedly shot her husband of 25 years, Bruce Rathgeb, from close range in their Hollywood apartment on October 16, 2010. On September 7, 2011, after pleading no contest to charges of attempted voluntary manslaughter, she was sentenced to nine years in prison. She was incarcerated in the Central California Women's Facility (CCWF) in Chowchilla and released on parole in April 2018.
- A photo of her that was in "Playboy" magazine was pasted into astronaut Charles Conrad's Apollo 12 lunar-surface checklist by the Apollo backup crew. Conrad wore the checklist on his spacesuit cuff and first found the photo during his walk on the moon. The caption read, "Seen any interesting hills and valleys?".
- In a friendly exchange scene near the beginning of Rosemary's Baby (1968), Mia Farrow meets another young woman who lives in her apartment building and mistakes her for actress Victoria Vetri. The woman says she is not and introduces her as Terry Gionoffrio. The inside joke is that the woman in the movie actually was Victoria. However, she was billed in the credits as Angela Dorian, the name she used when she posed for "Playboy".
- She was the victim of a brutal attack in her house in Hollywood in 1980, suffering a broken nose and broken ribs. The perpetrators were never caught.
- As of February 2013 was incarcerated in the Central California Women's Facility (CCWF) in Chowchilla.
- Became close friends with Sharon Tate, wife of director Roman Polanski, during the filming of Rosemary's Baby (1968). On the night of August 8 and 9, 1969, Tate invited Vetri to her and Polanski's house while the director was away. She declined due to illness. That was the night Tate and four others died at the hands of Charles Manson's followers.

- Vetri was a celebrity guest at the Monster Bash in Mars, Pennsylvania, in October 2021.
- The pink AMC Javelin that Victoria was given for being awarded Playmate of 1968 was restored by 2019 and Vioctoria has been photographed and recorded on video talking about the car she calls "Angela" named after her Stage name Angela Dorian.
