While many fans like me may be relatively lukewarm on some of Marvel’s TV productions like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but the work they’re doing on Netflix is arguably stronger than some of the best stuff seen from Marvel Studios in theaters. Sure, there’s not nearly as much spectacle on the Netflix series, but if you really want a chance to get to know your heroes, you’re likely to get more of that on television.
Over the past two years, Marvel Television and Netflix have given us two seasons of Daredevil, one season of Jessica Jones, and one season of Luke Cage. Next year, we’re set to get Iron Fist, The Punisher, and of course, the big team-up limited series The Defenders. For months now, there have been rumors that The Defenders would begin shooting in early November. in fact, that fact...

Here we are again! “Jessica Jones” has been released in all it’s hard-to-watch-but-infinitely-interesting glory. Much like with “Daredevil,” recapping a show that has been put out for binge-watching creates a unique set of challenges. If I recap too quickly, people will stone me in the digital streets for spoilers. If I recap too slowly, I risk morphing into the Pokemon Slowpoke. Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll bee “recapping” the Netflix series with my own twist: stream-of-consciousness. Feel free to check out thoughts on “Daredevil” Season One as well! Let’s get this binge-watch started! Episode 1: “Aka Ladies’ Night” Image Credit: Marvel/Netflix #1: Created and written by a woman because it’s about damn time. #2: That cheating lady is very flexible. #3: Wait, Trish has a Talk Show? Hellcat is a daytime talk radio host? Amazing. #4: Carrie. Anne. Moss. Cynical lawyer looks good on her.

“Wild Canaries” is a bit too wild for Idaho. In the town of Sadpoint, Idaho, The Panida Theater has pulled two scheduled screenings of the murder mystery, which played at SXSW this year, for what it deemed “inappropriate content that was not disclosed” — though one cast member claims the film is under attack for gay themes and drug use on screen. In a statement linked from their Facebook page, Panida’s executive director Patricia Walker White said the IFC Films release “contained subject matter not in keeping with the standards of the Panida and I have chosen to cancel screenings for Friday and Saturday matinee.

Panida Theater, an independently owned and operated theater in Sandpoint, Idaho, has cancelled screenings of "Wild Canaries," a comedy-mystery released by IFC Films, due to "inappropriate content." In a letter from the theater's executive director Patricia Walker White, shared on its Facebook page, the theater said the film was cancelled due to material "that was not disclosed, nor represented in any of the materials reviewed for this film. Its unrated status should clearly have been an R rating. It contained subject matter not in keeping with the standards of the Panida."
