Written by Jonathan Wood | Published by Titan Books | Format: Paperback, 480pp
Jonathan Wood’s supernatural thriller is a laugh-a-minute riot. Which is odd for a book about the end of the world.
You know your day isn’t going to start well when an attack drone starts trying to kill you at a funeral. Yet that’s how the members of MI317- a government department devoted to defending Britain from cosmic horrors- seem to spend their time. Between a nascent A.I that used to be their friend, the team’s completely dysfunctional relationship and a CIA that they can’t be sure if they trust or not, there’s a world to save. In the weirdest way possible.
With Avengers: Age of Ultron out at the moment, it’s the perfect time to use an easy analogy. Whereas a more serious novel would attempt something like Age of Ultron,...

Arthur Wallace is an officer for the Oxford police department. He’s a good cop, but he doesn’t see the kind of action you see on the big screen. That romanticized concept of police work is one that Arthur thinks on regularly. Soon Arthur’s world is turned on it’s head when he is contacted by a secretive government agency to help stop the threat of a trans-dimensional species!
Action packed from start to finish, No Hero takes the traditional action concept and mixes in supernatural horror. Whereas much of today’s content is designed to be gritty and realistic No Hero takes a queue from some of the 1990′s action movies it references. Arthur asks the question, “What would Kurt Russell do?”. Well Kurt Russell never had to deal with giant electricity powered two faced alien monsters! This isn’t Goldie Hawn getting amnesia we’re talking about.

Director Tim Burton's feature adaptation of the 1960's gothic horror TV series "Dark Shadows" will start shooting January 2011, based on a fresh take by writer Seth Grahame-Smith ("Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter"), who will rewrite a previous screenplay by John August.
Actor Johnny Depp and his production company Infinitum-Nihil, will produce the film, in association with Warner Bros.
"Dark Shadows", created by Dan Curtis, originally aired weekdays on the ABC television network, June 27, 1966 to April 2, 1971. The story 'bible' for the show was written by Art Wallace.
The series became popular a year into its run, with the introduction of Canadian actor Jonathan Frid, playing 200-year old vampire 'Barnabas Collins' who encounters other vampires, werewolves, ghosts, zombies, man-made monsters, witches, warlocks, time travel and a parallel universe.
Writer Malcolm Marmorstein, who specifically created the character of Collins, also created characters 'Sam Hall', 'Gordon Russell' and 'Violet Welles'.
