U.K. producers Evan Leighton-Davis and Ben Bond have launched a new financing fund, Heatseeker Media, a rolling finance facility to provide funding for independent film and TV producers.
Rare for these sorts of indie financing facilities, the London-based fund will provide development funding for producers, initially in the $100,000 to $1 million range for individual projects. Backing for the fund will come from a suite of private investors, mainly high-net-worth individuals, in the U.K., Europe and the U.S..
The first group of films to benefit from the fund include Romola Garai’s Monstrous Beauty, a period drama featuring The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey, which was a hot pre-sale title at the Cannes and AFM markets last year; the horror film The Severed Sun from director Dean Puckett starring Emma Appleton of The Witcher; and Ita Fitzgerald’s Irish drama West the Road featuring Imelda Staunton. 10.23 Brother's Keeper
Supernatural ends its tenth season by wrapping up the Mark of Cain narrative. As Dean succumbs more and more to the Mark's power, Sam gets increasingly desperate to track his brother down and set Rowena on performing the spell that will get rid of the First Curse. Dean gets desperate and calls on an old ally of the Winchesters in the form of Death, anticipating that it will be his own demise that will rid the world of the dangers of the Mark. Of course, this being Supernatural, nothing is ever that easy and Death reveals that losing the Mark will unleash the Darkness upon the world, the evil that came before Creation. 10.22 The Prisoner
Much has been made about family this season, from the positives, laid out in Dean’s speech to Crowley last week, to the negatives, which is pretty much any time a Winchester brother decides to think without the other. It seems fitting then that in The Prisoner, to go up against the Winchesters’ cobbled-together family is one of the oldest and most dangerous dynasties in the world, the Stynes. As Dean and Sam reel from Charlie’s death, the episode offers us more a glimpse into the privileged, powerful world of the Styne family and their love of playing Operation. Of course, they aren’t really a match for a vengeance-filled, Mark of Cained Dean.

Last night’s Supernatural took a little break from Sam’s mission to rid Dean of the Mark of Cain, as the Winchesters and Cas helped Claire find her missing mother. However, judging from these photos, next week’s episode should put us right back in the main story of the season. In next Wednesday’s episode of Supernatural, “Dark Dynasty,” Charlie returns to assist Sam as he keeps searching for a way to remove the Mark from Dean, but in order to help Sam, Charlie will have to work with Rowena, as they sift through the Book of the Damned together. I can’t wait to see those two in the same room together. And speaking of Rowena, she won’t just get a visit from Charlie but also one from Castiel, who appears to be joining Charlie and the witch as they do their work. What exactly are...

While Supernatural began the season with Dean back from the dead once again, the unique aspect this time was that he was back as a Demon, the Mark of Cain having accelerated the process that Ruby laid out in Season 3. Despite Sam curing Dean and turning him human, however, the effects of the mark continue to haunt Dean, making it the primary storyline over the past few episodes, which have introduced some intriguing new character turns, despite not giving a number of storylines their due.
The shift in focus to family is an interesting aspect of the season. With the core of Supernatural always focusing on the brotherly relationship between Sam and Dean, this is not a surprise, but the expansion into seeing what makes Crowley tick has been a...

It’s around three years since Harry, Ron, Hermione and friends hung up their wands to much fanfare and box office revenue but, come November 2016, we’re all going back to the wizarding world for one (or three) more adventures.
Warner Bros. have released dates for a brand new trilogy set to hit cinemas in November 2016, 2018 and 2020 respectively. Few of us doubted that this would eventually happen – no matter how protective of her stories and their characters Jk Rowling might be, there was little chance that Deathly Hallows Part II was the last ever outing – even if no one saw a revival coming quite this soon.

Rowena Wallace has revealed that she is facing homelessness. The 63-year-old Australian actress, who is best known for her roles in Sons and Daughters and Neighbours, said she is struggling to find a house on her pension after discovering that her current home in Wonthaggi is to be demolished. I am a bit old for that now, a bit old and a bit twisted. "I always knew that this would be temporary and it was my intention to go and find somewhere (more)...

The Black List started in 2005 when Franklin Leonard was working for Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way production company. Leonard was getting drowned in sub-par spec scripts, so he sent an e-mail out to his industry contacts looking for the best unproduced scripts out there. The 2005 Black List and the 2006 Black List were undeniably important in getting a fresh batch of writers on the Hollywood scene. Since then, too many people know about the party and the studio system has learned that people are paying attention. That means that increasingly, scripts have been lobbied into the Black List. [Note: I have no actual evidence I would be able to share, disclose or show you that proves this, so file that assertion under: "Things Dave thinks and gets to write because he's squatted on that soapbox long enough to get squatter's rights."]This year: the majority of the Black List Top Ten has already been sold or optioned. I'm not sure how helpful it is to make a list of good In Production scripts. Certainly less helpful to writer's churning out material that keeps getting passed over (or people who have Not starred in Prison Break...

Back in 2004, a list was compiled of the best unproduced screenplays in Hollywood of that year. This came to be known as The Black List. It was all started by a young executive at Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way, who polled 90+ peers to send him their 10 favorite, new, unproduced screenplays to read over the holidays. It has since become a tradition at the end of every year, in December, to release this list, which is voted on by a group of individuals in the entertainment industry from producer assistants, talent agency individuals, and many people involved with film development all the way up to VP's.
The 2010 Black List is here, and thanks to Deadline we have the list of best unproduced screenplays. Most of the scripts we've heard of, many of them are in production, some have already wrapped filming, they just wont be released until next year.

Rowena Wallace has admitted to having plastic surgery. The 62-year-old Australian actress, who is best known for her roles in Home and Away, Sons and Daughters and Neighbours, decided to have procedures including an eye lift, liposuction and neck lift to make her "feel better" about getting older.
