Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Alicia Keys has contributed songs to dozens of soundtracks including “The Great Gatsby,” “Muscle Shoals,” “Quantum of Solace” and “Drumline.” But Mira Nair’s “Queen of Katwe,” which features a Keys original, “Back to Life,” was a different kind of project.
Keys first discovered the true story of Ugandan chess prodigy Phiona Mutesi (portrayed by Madina Nalwanga in her debut) “by a little twist of fate” in 2011, when Tim Crothers’ remarkable feature story on the budding prodigy was published by Espn’s magazine (a year later, Crothers published the book “The Queen of Katwe,” on which Nair’s film is based).
Producing partner Jeff Robinson gave the article to Keys, in hopes that they could develop it under their Big Pita, Little Pita Productions banner. While that didn’t ultimately pan out, Keys could never quite shake Mutesi’s story.

Disney’s “Queen of Katwe” is based on the true story of 10-year-old Phiona, a young girl from Uganda with a knack for chess and dreams of becoming an international champion. It’s clearly positioned as an inspiring tale, and to underpin that message Disney brought on Alicia Keys to write and perform a new song for the soundtrack, “Back To Life.”
The cathartic track, written by Keys, Carlo Montagnese and Billy Walsh, is about pushing past the little voice of doubt in our heads so we can instead, “electrify the world,” Keys said in a press release. Starting as a piano ballad with minimal strings, “Back to Life” then morphs into a fun uptempo, electronic, head-shaking pop song. Take a listen below.

Debra Morgan knows that her brother is a deranged serial killer. Heck, she even killed Lieutenant Laguerta to keep the secret in the family. Now as the final season of ‘Dexter’ begins, that murderous decision seems to loom large.
We pick up not where we left off. Dexter’s son is flying a kite, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) is smashing fake heads in with a baseball bat. And all of Dexter’s problems have been solved. Oh wait, no they haven’t.
Dexter & Debra On The Rocks
A helpful voiceover from Dexter himself lets us know it’s been six months since Laguerta was killed.
“I’m a serial killer” is written all over Dexter’s face around the rest of the police department. And it’s clear that Dexter and Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) are not on speaking terms. He pretty much ruined her life and she hates him, or so she says.

Melinda McGraw will play the "smart and ambitious" wife of Hollis Doyle (Gregg Henry) in ABC's "Scandal," TVLine reports.
McGraw, perhaps best known as Don Draper's mistress in "Mad Men" Season 2, will debut as Deborah in an April episode, and knowing what we know of husband Hollis -- the man responsible for rigging Fitz's (Tony Goldwyn) election -- we're guessing she's got her fair share of dirty laundry stashed away.

Filming for "Dexter" Season 8 is already underway as Showtime's serial killer thriller approaches its an earlier-than-usual June premiere date. And judging from some new images from the set (courtesy of Spoiler TV) , Deb is spending time with a new guy who many fans believe to be Rhys Coiro, a familiar face to premium cable viewers.
In the images below, Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) -- sporting some unusually wavy hair -- can be seen hanging out with the man that could be Coiro, who "Entourage" fans may recognize as the mercurial director Billy Walsh.
Showtime has not yet announced Coiro's casting, but the network has revealed that Sean Patrick Flannery and Charlotte Rampling are joining the upcoming eighth season of "Dexter." Coiro recently joined Jerry Bruckheimer's "Hostages" pilot, which is in development at CBS.
"Dexter" Season 8 is widely assumed to be the series' last, although Showtime Entertainment President has refused to commit to ending the series.

Entourage is one of the best TV shows of all time. Ari Gold is one of the funniest characters in fictional history. And Jeremy Piven (Ari the actor) should be doing something more worthy than playing 1900s dress-up on ITV every Sunday night... but what don't we know?
Well, we don't know how Entourage: The Movie will turn out, but at least it's finally been given the green light. Plus, we trust series creator Doug Ellin to make something funny, heartfelt and, well, nothing like other HBO shows-turned-movies; just don't put Vinny back in rehab.
Now that the film version of the comedy drama is officially in the works, we decided to take a look back at the impressively realistic movies Entourage made up.

It’s a great week for Entourage fans everywhere. From 2004 to 2011, the brilliant TV show was a perfect example of the increasingly exceptional programming on television, particularly from HBO.
When the final season concluded last year, it gave us all hope that more would be coming, and creator Doug Ellin has spoken over the last two years about his intentions to make a movie following on from where things left off.
Thankfully, it looks like we won’t have quite as long a wait as we’ve had for Arrested Development (which we can’t wait to see return with Season 4 this spring on Netflix). Deadline are reporting that Warner Bros. have officially given the green light to the movie!
And I couldn’t be happier.

Just last fall we got word that a script for the long gestating film continuance of the HBO series Entourage was near completion from writer and series creator Doug Ellin. It sounds like he wasn't lying as Deadline has word that Warner Bros. has given the greenlight for fictional movie star Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier), super agent Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) and the rest of the crew (Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara) to head to the big screen. However, that seems to be about as far as the studio has gone to prepare the film for production as there's no start date or plot details that have surfaced. Read on! Deadline assumes that many trademark supporting characters like assistant turned agent Lloyd (Rex Lee), Eric's longtime lady Sloan (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and even scruffy, spontaneous filmmaker Billy Walsh (Rhys Coiro) will be in the mix along with later characters like...

Josh Hutcherson clearly doesn't watch Entourage. The young actor could be sniffing from the poisoned chalice that is Pablo Escobar, going where Vincent Chase wished he hadn't and signing up for Paradise Lost, a production that will see Benicio Del Toro playing the notorious drug baron.Admittedly, the Entourage version, 'Medellin', was a misguided (and, yes, entirely fictional) attempt to mythologise the cocainiac Columbian with a bloated arthouse treatment. By contrast, Paradise Lost will offer a more oblique intro to the man. If cast, Hutcherson will play a young Irish surfer who discovers that his girlfriend's uncle is - gulp - an internationally notorious drugs trafficker. It's Meet The Parents with Ak-47s. Instead of Billy Walsh, this take on Escobar will offer a directorial debut to Andrea di Stefano. You can see him playing Life Of Pi's priest from this week. Principle photography on Paradise Lost should kick off in Panama in March,...

It’s no secret that HBO has been home to much of the finest programming on television in the past decade, and Entourage has been a big part of that.
It sits amongst esteemed family: The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, The Wire, and Flight of the Conchords, to name but a few. And it goes without saying that it more than holds its own.
Sad though it may be, all good things must come to an end, and as the saying goes, it’s better to burn out than to fade away, and Entourage goes out strong with its eighth and final season.
Picking up shortly after the last season left off – with Vince (Adrian Grenier) caught in possession of narcotics after a beat-down at Eminem’s party – the last ever season of Entourage sees our movie star back to his usual self after seeing a somewhat darker side of him in season seven.

As the end of HBO’s Entourage has come and passed (pending possible movie adaptation plans), we are left with a huge void to fill in our TV viewing. However, why should the fun end with HBO’s decision to bring the series to an end? Let’s take an in-depth look at the fictitious films Vinny Chase participated in and let you decide which would have been the most wanted film!
Lets begin where it all started….
A Walk To Remember

Maybe it’s the fact that I’m writing this latest Entourage review for the first time this season without repeat viewings of the episode due to bank holiday shenanigans, or maybe it just was a much improved episode, but ‘The Big Bang’ was definitely a marked step in the right direction for the show heading in to the final two episodes.
Don’t get me wrong, I still have plenty of issues with this season – the main one being how they can possibly ever tie up every single plot thread that they have dangling at the moment in just two episodes – but given what had gone before it, this felt like Entourage at least back on track if not exactly winning the race.

The countdown has begun. “Entourage” is down to its final four episodes before the show’s remarkable run fades into television history. Creator and chief writer Doug Ellin now has the task of tying up all of the characters’ loose ends — and leaving enough comic suspense for the inevitable (but still not yet confirmed) “Entourage” movie in 2013.

The action begins when Vince presents his beloved screenplay outline to the guys. Drama loves Vince’s idea of Billy Walsh handling his project, his baby. “He knows my voice like Scorsese knows DeNiro’s.”
Sloan screams the classic two-word epithet at Eric, who has yet to move his stuff out of her place, over the phone. She has misunderstood a message from Eric.
When Lloyd spots Ari’s estranged wife at a “restaurant she hates,” Ari flips out.

Dear God, it takes a lot of willpower to write anything about "Entourage." After Sunday's premiere of the eighth and final season, what is there possibly to say about Hollywood's ode to its narcissistic self other than, "Meh"? It's not so much impressive as it is discouraging that the HBO comedy lasted this long. "Entourage" has had its moments --mostly provided by Jeremy Piven as agent Ari Gold -- but even he couldn't muster enough believability for the latest episode, "Home Sweet Home." He and his boys coasted as they never have before, offering even flatter versions of their characters dealing with the "dramas" of breakups, addictions, and movie deals that will soon be resolved and celebrated with a bounty of booze and easy women. Because that's what the show is: easy.

When "Entourage" returns next Sunday, July 31, Vince will be moving forward with his idea of a Drama-starring movie. After completing the script and showing it to his buddies, he will ask opinion from Billy Walsh about his project.
Meanwhile, Ari is still all about his estranged wife. Having heard disturbing news about Mrs. Ari, he takes Lloyd on his recon mission, forcing him to retrace his steps and collecting some information.
Called "Out with a Bang", the episode may also see Eric having an issue with a girl while he plays phone tag with Sloan. Turtle can't get Alex on the phone, and Drama's "Johnny's Bananas" co-star Andrew Dice Clay needs representation.
"Entourage" creator Doug Ellin recently assured that a feature film version of the HBO series will be indeed coming. "We're going to do a movie... It's a question of when and how quick. We'll sit down and come up with an idea,...

“…it’s an interesting take on a familiar story…” – Billy Walsh
The normally light-hearted Entourage took a rather dark detour with its seventh season, as leading man Vince Chase went well and truly off the rails, screwing porn stars, drinking on the job and hoovering up more blow than an 80s hair metal band.
With the season ending on the cliff-hanger of Vince being busted by the cops with a bag of coke big enough to make Tony Montana look small time, one would have thought that the season eight premiere of Entourage would have been a pretty dark episode as we witnessed the aftermath of what surely had to be Vince’s breaking point.
Instead, somewhat wisely given that this is the shows final season, a three month or so time jump sees the show glossing over the darkness that befell the previous season in favour of the light-hearted...

HBO has released a trailer for Season 8 of Entourage, offering us as sneak peek to the show’s final season. it looks like we pick off from the Vinnie Chase beat down from last year with a return from rehab celebration. Looks like Vince was busy doing some writing during his time down, Ari and “E’” are going still going through significant other issues, Drama is working on his Johnny’s Bananas cartoon that Billy Walsh came up with last season. Turtle? Turtle is being Turtle.
Entourage returns to HBO on July 24th and we’ve recently brought the world that the likes of Andrew Dice Clay and some football types will be appearing at some point in the season – though no (at this point) Anthony Weiner, Charlie Sheen or Robert Pattinson, as had been floated around. Last month, HBO released its initial Entourage teaser, a much shorter one, for its swan song season.

The first actor landing a guest starring role in the eighth season of "Entourage" is comedian Andrew Dice Clay. According to Et online, Clay is to recur in the last season of the HBO series as Johnny Drama's co-star in his new cartoon project.
As known in the seventh season, Johnny accepted the proposal from Billy Walsh to give a voice to an angry monkey character made after him. No clue yet on which character Dice will lend his voice to. His part starts filming in two weeks while the season's premiere is set for July 24 with ten episodes on tap.
Clay, who said he watches "Entourage" with his sixteen and twenty year old sons, was approached by show creator Doug Ellin when he "didn't know where my career was going." He called Ellin his "Quentin Tarantino".

To kick off "Suicide Solution," Charlie ran in with the cricket paddle. It was great.
Out on bail for the second time this week, Hank needed some sugar. Seated between Marci and Charlie in bed, he looked like some dysfunctional family dog, but what really stole the scene was when Hank told Charlie he looked like a “big sexy baby.”
Wasn't it a great, symbolic depiction of Hank and Karen's relationship when we saw the two cars hooked up together charging? Karen can’t help but love Hank and lend him a hand. Whenever Hank hit bottom and needed to get his life back on track, Karen has always been there to get him up and running again.
Karen drove away as Hank pleaded with her to see Becca, but moments later we saw him charming Abby, his “Lady Lawyer.” He can’t help himself. It’s like a shark to blood in the water.

If you thought Merle Dixon was bad, just wait until you get a load of the Governor.
In "The Walking Dead," the Governor is the ruler of an enclosed community known as Woodbury. But lest you think Woodbury is a sanctuary for all non-zombies, think again: it's a place where men are thrown into gladiatorial combat against the flesh-eating walkers, all in an effort to entertain the masses. That's just one of the many twisted and evil acts that the Governor is capable of, with other offenses including chopping off hands, raping women and molesting zombie children.
Needless to say, the Governor is bad people — but that also means he's compelling as all hell. The Governor's involvement in the "Walking Dead" TV series is not just a necessity, it's an inevitability. After the jump, check out five actors we can see as the ruthless villain.

“Sniff Sniff, Gang Bang” begins as so many episodes of entourage do with E, Sloan, Drama, Turtle, and Alex meeting Vince and Sasha at a club. Vince and Sasha make out in the middle of the club while the rest of the crew take shots, and they continue to make out when the others join them at their table. E, Sloan, Turtle, and Alex decide to leave, and Vince takes out some pills for him and Sasha to take before getting back to their make out session. On his way out, E receives a phone call from Phil Yagoda telling him that a studio head he talked to loves Billy’s cartoon idea for Drama and wants to make it happen. After seeing how happy Drama is dancing at the club, and knowing that he isn’t too fond of the cartoon, E decides to wait to give him the news.

HBO's "Entourage," now in its seventh season, is a complex emotional drama. It's a minefield of plot turns, complications, and relationship turmoil. We here at Pajiba don't want you to have to face the density of the show alone. Throughout the seventh season, we will be tracking every crucial highlight of the show, guiding you through the twists and turns of the labyrinthine HBO comedy.
In this week's episode, we got a small reprieve from the taxing density of the season so far, as the showrunners hit us with a transition episode. Thank God, too. If the intensity had not let up a little, I was facing near certain brain explosion.
Week 8
Vince was asked to take a drug test for his next film, Airwalker. He refused. The director, Randall Wallace, quit.
Johnny Drama is still unemployed; he doesn't want to do the animated project.

For the second week in a row, the witty men behind Entourage named the episode after cocaine with our favorite title of the season, "Sniff Sniff Gang Bang." Instead of combining coke with tequila, this week they did it with a little gang bang courtesy of Sasha Grey.
So outside of a fantastic title, what did we think of the actual episode? After two strong episodes, including some Sloan side boob, we were a little disappointed with this week's installment.
Vince's downward spiral seems almost as forced as Sasha Grey's acting. No wonder the legitimate acting gigs are not pouring this girl's way -- she can barely play herself. Go do the gang bang and break up with our Air Walker.
Sorry, random Sasha rant over. Where were we? Oh yes, Vince's forced spiral. So, we've gone from adrenaline junkie to a drug addict that's suddenly standing up to...

(Season 7, Episode 8) Look out Hollywood, Eric Murphy is raging like a pint-sized Hulk!
He's just learned that his best pal and client Vincent Chase has been doing cocaine -- thanks to the suddenly reformed Billy Walsh -- and he's out for blood. He tells off Scott Lavin, Vince's coke buddy, then he takes down Phil Yagoda over Drama's animated series -- more on that later. He finally confronts Vince, who is naked in the pool again with porn star Sasha Grey.
Is this getting to be a habit? Well, er, yes it is. Vince, who is relatively sober, pushes back, saying he's done coke before and he's a professional once the cameras are rolling. Also, he wants Eric to apologize to Scott and get Sasha a part in 'Air-Walker.'

Episode Title: "Sniff Sniff Gang Bang"
Written By: Doug Ellin & Ally Musika
Story: Plans for an animated series starring the voice of Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon) catch a network's interest, but Drama himself isn't sold on the pitch. Following the public revelation of his infamously vulgar rants, Ari (Jeremy Piven) attempts an attitude makeover. Meanwhile, Vince (Adrien Grenier) has to convince his girlfriend Sasha Grey to turn down an alluring porn gig all while convincing studio executives — and Eric (Kevin Connolly) — that he's not on drugs.
No More Mister Nice Guy: When Vince first accepted Eric as his official manager, he warned his lifelong pal that the job could test the limits of their friendship — and in recent episodes of "Entourage," that conversation has come back around in a big way.
Eric is absolutely right in suggesting that Vince is on a free fall thanks to his recent self-destructive behavior.

Turns out nothing wakes up a half-naked actor from his poolside like some cocaine. During this week's aptly-named "Tequila and Coke," Vince decided to dabble in the white powder.
As much as we're already sick of seeing Vince's career tank after Medellin, it is kind of refreshing to see Vince just tank as a human being.
At least Vince's benders make him more interesting than regular Vinnie. Plus, hey cocaine even made the guy make a joke! "My fingers are sealed." Hey, it's a start for the guy. Bring on the coke and possibly the laughs one day!
Ari, meanwhile, finally saw all his running story lines of the NFL franchise and Lizzie's blackmail come to fruition in one fizzled out moment. Apparently Lizzie did not leak the tapes, but Deadline ran the story anyway, thus sullying this family man's good name. Crash and burn. Come up with something new for our man.

Episode Title: "Tequila and Coke"
Written By: Doug Ellin & Ally Musika
Story: Vince (Adrien Grenier) is clearly on a punch drunk in love (and a real drunk on tequila) downward spiral that has him fighting for the highest paid role of his career. Speaking of tequila, Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) deals with a business setback. Eric (Kevin Connolly) and Drama (Kevin Dillon) deal with some business issues of their own, while Ari (Jeremy Piven) attempts to cool Lizzie (Autumn Reeser) off of her revenge kick.
Mixed Up: Things aren't getting any better for Vincent Chase. Already targeted by his friends and colleagues for his hard partying ways, Vince comes under further scrutiny when "Airwalker" director Randall Wallace thinks that the Hollywood icon is nose deep in a cocaine habit. Although he tells Eric he's fine, girlfriend Sasha Grey indicates that Vince actually does have a coke problem — something that's bound to...

With only 4 episodes left of Entourage's seventh season, it is very clear that this will be one of the darker seasons of the show. Front and center last night was Ari's (Jeremy Piven) self-implosion. Amanda Daniels (Carla Gugino) and Lizzie (Autumn Reeser) made Ari squirm like we've never seen before. And while we were led to believe that a lawsuit was on the menu, Lizzie had other plans. She delivered tapes of Ari (and his abusive behavior) to Deadline Hollywood for an expose. Have Ari's NFL plans been fumbled? It looks so. Billy Walsh's (Rhys Choiro) return was refreshing and it was great to see the once harsh director in more of a calm disposition. Walsh has given up the unholy Hollywood lifestyle of drugs, alcohol and porn. Now, he's got a family, responsibilities and needs back in on the business. Unfortunately, he needs a real manager, namely...

“Hair” begins in Vince’s backyard, with Turtle using a flipcam to take videos of Vince and Sasha talking about Tequila Avion. While Turtle and Alex enjoy the Tequila with Vince and Sasha, Drama wallows in his misery over losing his show to Bob Saget.
At the Tma office, Ari and Barbara meet with their attorney, Jim Lefkowitz, to discuss the possibility of Lizzie Grant suing Ari (potentially for sexual harassment or wrongful termination). After asking Lloyd his opinion of how Ari treats his employees, and not getting a favorable answer) Jim suggests they offer Lizzie money to not pursue legal actions. The main concern is that a trial, no matter the outcome, would affect Ari’s chances of bringing an NFL team to Los Angeles. However, Ari doesn’t feel the need to offer Lizzie any more money and says he will talk to Amanda Daniels and handle things himself.

Week in and week out for the last two seasons, Entourage has been desperately trying to figure out what to do with Turtle. Last season we sent him back to school and awkwardly paired him with Jamie-Lynn Sigler. No, we don't care if the actors dated in real life, that's the most mismatched pair on television... ever.
This season? The short little furry guy continues to score chicks way out of his league. So out of his league that even the girls seem to admit it on the show. Oh and some lame tequila subplot that somehow leads to Vince's demise. What!?
Now, in the most wildly, ridiculous and unbelievable Turtle subplot and the story from which the episode got its name, "Hair," Turtle freaks out when a girl has no hair... downstairs. Apparently every girl he's ever been with, including Ms. Jamie-Lynn have at least had a landing strip.

A newly sober Billy Walsh (Rhys Coiro) resurfaces looking to return to the film industry.
Cutting Loose: Vinnie Chase has partied hard over the course of seven seasons of "Entourage," but he's arguably hit his personal lowest in recent episodes, thanks to Turtle's dangerously delicious batch of tequila and the seductive ways of Sasha Gray. By the end of "Hair," a very drunk and very naked Vince lies face down next to his pool while Eric and Ari hover over him,...
