Sunday July 15th is the last day of Comic-Con 2012, and most of us will be completely worn out looking like Spider-Man in the image above. Chances are he's asleep under that mask. Sunday has always been a cool down day for us, we kind of just try to relax a little bit more and enjoy it. That doesn't mean their isn't anything to see or do though!
We've got a Fringe screening and Q&A, Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer 20th Anniversary, Sons of Anarchy, the annual Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical screening, and more! I've always wanted to go the Buffy musical sing-a-long, but am usually trying to leave San Diego before it starts.
Just a little reminder, we will be having our annual GeekTyrant meet up this year to meet our readers, which is something we always enjoy doing! That will take place on Wednesday night, and...

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johansson may soon be lending their talents to a zom-com. The two are reportedly “loosely attached” to ‘Breathers: A Zombie’s Lament’ based on S.G. Browne’s 2009 novel of the same name. Diablo Cody, the hip and happening writer of Juno, is set to produce and Geoff Latulippe is scripting the adaptation.
The movie is a romantic comedy about Andy, a dead man who discovers himself newly re-animated as a mid-aged, decaying zombie who must figure out what it means to live as an Un-dead in a society that denies his kind basic rights.
The full synopsis goes like so -
Meet Andy Warner, a recently deceased everyman and newly minted zombie. Resented by his parents, abandoned by his friends, and reviled by a society that no longer considers him human, Andy is having a bit of trouble adjusting to his new existence. But all that...

Enjoy your zombie love stories? Course you do! You may remember a little while back Diablo Cody's ('Jennifer's Body', 'Juno') name being attached to Fox Searchlight's book to movie adaption project for S.G. Browne's novel 'Breathers: A Zombie's Lament'. Cody will be producing the new feature and news comes today that potentially two interesting lead stars could be involved. Pajiba are reporting that Joseph Gordon-Levitt ('Inception') and Scarlett Johansson ('Iron Man 2' - below) are 'loosely' attached! Scribe Geoff Latulippe has reportedly finished the script and with Diablo on board I guess this potential double casting isn't beyond the realms of believability. However, time will tell. 'Andy Warner reanimates after the car accident that kills his wife, but is too mangled from his injuries to talk. He lives in his parents' wine cellar, occasionally attending a zombie...

Scarlett Johansson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are teaming up for a new movie! And by the sounds of it, it’s going to be awesome! Not only are there rad actors starring in it, but Diablo Cody is producing, and it’s about zombies! Random? Yes. Awesome? Hell yes. /Film says the film, which is titled, “Breathers: A Zombie’s Lament,” is "Shaun of the Dead" meets "District 9.” Here’s the actual synopsis: Meet Andy Warner, a recently deceased everyman and newly minted zombie. Tired of zombies yet? Well, we definitely know who’s not! Juno and Jennifer’s Body writer Diablo Cody is working on a big screen adaptation of the S.G. Browne novel Breathers: A Zombie’s Lament, and Geoff Latulippe is writing the screenplay.
But, we heard that Scarlett Johansson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are “loosely attached” to star in the film that will follow:
“…Andy Warner, a recently deceased everyman and newly minted zombie. Resented by his parents, abandoned by his friends, and reviled by a society that no longer considers him human, Andy is having a bit of trouble adjusting to his new existence.
But all that changes when he goes to an Undead Anonymous meeting and finds kindred souls in Rita, an impossibly sexy recent suicide with a taste for the formaldehyde in cosmetic products, and Jerry, a twenty-one-year-old car crash victim with an exposed brain and a penchant for Renaissance pornography.

It's been several months since we've gotten any sort of update on the Diablo Cody produced film version of S.G. Browne's debut novel, Breathers: A Zombie’s Lament, but today the Internet is buzzing with the news that Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johansson are "loosely attached" to the project.
Pajiba.com was first with the casting scoop, and if it pans out, it bodes well for the zom-rom-com, which was written by Geoff Latulippe and is currently being shopped to potential directors.
For an idea of what to expect, here's a synopsis of Brown's novel from the official Breathers: A Zombie's Lament website:

It’s being reported that Scarlett Johansson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are loosely attached to star in a new very cool sounding dark comedy called Breathers: A Zombie’s Lament. The film was adapted by Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody, from the book of the same title by S.G. Browne.
The story is a zombie romantic comedy that follows a character named Andy who discovers that he’s a decaying zombie. Andy goes through the process of trying to figure out how to live as a walking dead man in a society that denies his kind any basic rights.
This is a very interesting concept and an original take on the zombie genre. This should make for a solid film, and it would be great to see these two actors officially become attached to star in the film.

We already know Diablo Cody is re-teaming with director Jason Reitman for Young Adult, but previously the quirky screenwriter (who also wrote Jennifer's Body) was said to be crafting another unique take on the horror genre with an adaptation of S.G. Browne's dark comedy Breathers: A Zombie's Lament. The film is a zombie-led romantic comedy following Andy, a dead man who discovers himself newly re-animated as a decaying zombie and must figure out what it means to live as an "un-dead" in a society that denies his kind basic rights. Pajiba reports Scarlett Johansson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are loosely attached to star. If you're looking for a little more insight into the story, here's a full summary of the book from Amazon: "Andy Warner reanimates after the car accident that kills his wife, but is too mangled from his injuries to talk. It was last February when we first heard that Diablo Cody would be producing the film version of S.G. Browne's debut novel, Breathers: A Zombie’s Lament, and finally she provided an update on the project this weekend during Showtime's presentation to the Television Critics Association (for her United States of Tara).
In addition Cody offered some explanations for the failure of her last feature film, Jennifer's Body, to, in her words, find its audience.
With regard to Breathers, which is being written by Geoff Latulippe (so hopefully audiences will be spared the "hip" and "clever" dialogue we were subjected to in Jen's Body), Cody tells If Magazine, “We have a script, and I am thrilled with it and hope we can go into production with it soon. It’s a zombie love story. Zombies are so hot now, but I like to think it’s about the personal...

S.G. Browne’s debut novel, the blackly humorous Breathers: A Zombie’S Lament, returned life to his waning hopes of being an author. Even before the tome’s recent publication by Broadway Books, it was announced that Oscar-winning Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody would produce a film adaptation. This may seem like an overnight success story for Browne, but he’d probably disagree with that assessment.
In fact, Breathers survived rejections by 82 agents over a period of 15 months before finally landing Browne representation and an eventual publisher. And this came after three unpublished previous novels that were straight supernatural horror. “They weren’t dark comedies, although I’d written some short stories that were,” he reveals. “In fact, I’d written a short story called ‘A Zombie’s Lament,’ which was about 2,000 words. It kind of had that dark-humored aspect, but I hadn’t thought of writing [a novel] in that style until I read Chuck Palahniuk.
