Chicago – I feel like I’ve written a dozen reviews of USA’s hit “Burn Notice” and they all have basically the same theme — this is a show that could have been great but has now clearly settled for just being good. There’s rarely anything overtly wrong with an episode of “Burn Notice,” and the mid-season premiere is actually better than the show has been recently with strong scenes for its stellar supporting cast. There’s nothing wrong with a good, entertaining show like “Burn Notice,” and the mid-season premiere is more entertaining than most recent episodes. I just need to stop thinking that, with a few tweaks, it could be one of the best shows on TV instead of merely a fun one.

Make no bones about it: Bones creator Hart Hanson is more than a little nervous about how his show's loyal (and very vocal) audience will receive the characters from his proposed spin-off when they make their debut in Thursday's episode, which is titled "Finder."
"I have warned them about this from the beginning. I said... 'Now, listen — when this goes on the air, there's going to be a loud group of people who hate [these characters]," Hanson tells TVGuide.com with a squealing laugh. "Our record of introducing new characters on Bones — it doesn't go well.

"I expect that there will be a loud group of people who say, 'Hey! What's this peanut butter doing with my chocolate?'" Hanson continues. "The question will be: Do people tune out? It'll be very interesting to see...

Chicago – USA’s spy hit “Burn Notice” returns tonight, November 11th, 2010 with another solidly-entertaining mix of the cool, the comedy, and the crazy. The middle of season four ended with Michael Weston (Jeffrey Donovan) crossing paths with two lunatics (Michael Rooker & Robert Patrick), being given a list that was the key to destroying the people who burned him, getting into an intense shoot-out, and a horrible car accident. Yes, there are a lot of loose ends to tie up.
Television Rating: 3.5/5.0
When “Burn Notice” is actively pursuing and detailing Michael’s spy past and future — the people who burned him and how he can get revenge while also staying alive — it’s a fantastic spy thriller. No program does this kind of thing better (and several recently, including NBC’s “Undercovers” and even Fox’s “Human Target,” have tried) and I wish the show would commit fully to ditching the...

USA’s hit show Burn Notice returns on November 11th, and I’ve got a great double whammy giveaway to get you excited for the return.
The series return kicks off with “Eyes Open,” and it’s an episode that won’t disappoint fans. When a vengeful lawyer hires a paranoid bombmaker to kill off members of a local gang, Michael is forced to intervene before innocent lives are lost in the mayhem. Guest-starring Daniel Pino, it’s a complex episode that shows off a lot of elements audiences have come to love about the show. Bruce Campbell especially has a pretty good turn in this one.
USA’s hot roster of hit series gives viewers something to warm up to as the days get shorter and the nights grow colder. November sees the return of fan-favorite Burn Notice on Thursday, November 11, at 10/9c with brand new episodes. Visit the...

Tim Matheson’s name used to be synonymous with the classic‘70s frat film Animal House. But after enjoying almost 50 years in theentertainment business (not bad for a 63-year-old), Matheson has finally seemedto officially shed his Eric Stratton association.
These days, the actor/director is better known as the goldenboy of USA Networks, where he frequently works behind the camera and makes the occasionalguest appearance on shows like Burn Notice, White Collar, and Covert Affairs.
In a recent interview, Matheson talked about whether heconsiders himself more of an actor or a director, his role at USA, and theparts he’d like to explore at the network.
Q: Since you’re doing both the acting and directing, do youconsider yourself more of an actor or a director?
Tim: I think at the moment—that’s so hard. I think right nowI’m more of a director...

Chicago – USA’s hit action series “Burn Notice” returns tonight, June 3rd, 2010, with a very dark season premiere that hints at an emotional roller coaster to come and, potentially, at a resurgence for a show that has been spinning its wheels a bit since an amazing second season finale.
Television Rating: 3.5/5.0
The #1 show on cable picks up immediately after the end of the last season, as Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) has finally reached the end of the line in his quest to discover who burned him and ended his life as a spy. I’m always interested in seeing where shows go when they essentially finish the inciting incident that spawned the pilot (like when the “Lost”-ies got off the island) and the premiere of the fourth season could be called “Burn Notice 2.0”.

Chicago – When we last saw “Burn Notice” lead Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan), he was putting his life on the line for Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) by saving hers. The mid-season premiere picks up shortly after the end of the previous episode with Michael tending to Fiona’s wounds, Sam (Bruce Campbell) trying to figure out who threw Michael’s contact off a balcony, and basic cable’s number one spy trying to snoop and stay alive at the same time.

Last year, “Burn Notice” was at a crossroads. The writing staff had essentially blown up their own dramatic foundation at the end of season two by suggesting that Michael’s exile in Miami was actually for his own good. Without the mystery of who burned Michael to drive the show as it did in the first good season and the second great one, the third struggled a bit with identity.

Burn Notice creator Matt Nix has inked a deal to exec produce Jack and Dan, what he calls a 13-episode "action comedy cop show," for Fox. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is based on a film script Nix wrote nearly 10 years ago: "It centers on Jack, an ambitious, by-the-book cop who is partnered with Dan, a drunken, lecherous, wild-card cop who hangs onto his job only because of a heroic act years before." I say those sound like perfect roles for Burn Notice's Jeffrey Donovan and Bruce Campbell, respectively. Seriously, the trade says production on each show will be staggered to accommodate Nix. So why couldn't Donovan and Campbell pull double duty as well? Donovan would keep the "by-the-book cop" from being boring, and Campbell is never more charming than when he's holding a beer (or mojito) and talking about the ladies. Nix says the show will follow the cops,...

Chicago – Tricia Helfer would have been famous just for her sexy and stellar work on the Sci-Fi Channel’s “Battlestar Galactica” but she’s also become an essential part of the hit USA Network show “Burn Notice” as the mysterious and deadly Carla, the woman who holds the secrets to Michael’s (Jeffrey Donovan) past and future.
The gorgeous Helfer recently sat down for an informative press conference about the upcoming season finale of “Burn Notice” and series finale of “Battlestar Galactica”. She revealed information about her start on “Burn” and whether or not she’s on board for the next one. Bad news Carla fans. “I’m not on board for next season, no,” Tricia Helfer reveals. “As I like to say, I was the baddie of the second season, so yes, my last two episodes are this week and the finale, March 5th.”

Chicago – Who’s ready for a summer diversion in the middle of the winter? USA hopes you are. When the very good “Burn Notice” left the air at the end of last summer, it had scored ratings that would make it the #1 scripted show on cable for the entire year in the coveted 18-49 demo.
USA Network, easily the hottest and most successful basic cable network in terms of ratings, have found a huge hit in Matt Nix’s clever series about a spy stuck in Miami. The show returns for its mid-season premiere on USA on January 22nd, 2009 and we’ve got a sneak peek at one of the best episodes in the show’s history.
