Kay had a premonition the night of the 1994 Northridge 6.8-magnitude
earthquake and, thinking it would be safer, decided to sleep downstairs
in her home located in the nearby community of Toluca Lake. She found
herself buried in reading material as the bookshelf next to the couch
on which she was sleeping fell and emptied itself on top of her,
leaving her temporarily stranded, until subsequently rescued by a
neighbor who, hearing her muffled moans, broke into the house.
