Starz has partnered with the BBC on the British broadcaster’s eight-episode limited drama series The Missing. Starz will co-produce the project, starring James Nesbitt (The Hobbit trilogy), which has begun filming in Brussels. Written by Harry and Jack Williams and directed by Tom Shankland, the thriller will air on BBC One in the UK and Starz in the U.S. in fall 2014. It is produced by New Pictures and Company Pictures in association with Two Brothers Pictures and Colin Callender’s Playground. All3media International has funded development of The Missing and retains all U.S. rights not obtained by Starz. Missing reunites the auspices behind The White Queen limited series, which was a success for Starz; it also hailed from BBC One, Company Pictures, Playground and all3media. The Missing follows Tony (Nesbitt) as a man devastated by the abduction of his young son during a family vacation in France.

The BBC has announced a number of new commissions including a series from Misfits creator Howard Overman called Atlantis.
The 13-part series will begin shooting in Wales and Morocco in April, while BBC controller of drama Ben Stephenson confirmed that it will air on BBC One in Merlin's Saturday night slot this autumn.
The series synopsis states: "The city of Atlantis is a mysterious, ancient place; a world of bull leaping, of snake haired goddesses and of palaces so vast it was said they were built by giants.
"It's into this strange, compelling realm that the young Jason arrives and an amazing adventure begins, bringing to life the vast store of Greek myths and legends re-imagined for a new generation."
Other commissions include Death Comes To Pemberley, a three-part adaptation of Pd James's homage to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, written by Juliette Towhidi (Calendar Girls).

Both Oxford and Cambridge Universities have signed up with the International Quidditch Association after Harvard Princeton and Brown, where Harry Potter star Emma Watson is studying, all set up their own teams.
The “Quidditch” storm started at Middlebury College, Vermont, in 2005 – now it even has its own World Cup of the ball game played on broomsticks.
