New Kick Ass 2 movie delivered great action, comedy, drama & more. Universal Pictures released their new comedy/action flick, "Kick Ass 2" into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and thought it was great, delivering tons of action, comedy, hardcore drama, and more. It stars: Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Morris Chestnut, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison, and Jim Carrey. In the new flick, Dave Lizewski aka Kick-Ass and Mindy Macready aka Hit-Girl teamed back up to fight more crime until Mindy's guardian, Detective Marcus Williams, convinces her that she needs to stop and just be a normal girl with normal girl pals. From there, Dave is left to fend for his self until he runs into a new group of crime-fighters called "Justice Forever," spear-headed by Colonel Stars (Jim Carrey). Meanwhile, character Chris D'Amico aka The Motherfucker is hell-bent on destroying Kick-Ass for killing his father, and hires...

There's no doubt Hit-Girl and Chloe Grace Moretz came out the star when Kick Ass first hit theaters in 2010, so it's no surprise the tough little teen takes center stage in the follow-up. At one point though, you think you're watching a mash up of Carrie meets Mean Girls as Hit Girl tries to fit in with the high school in crowd. But don't worry fan boys, you'll be gitty with the blood shed in this one.
Mindy Macready (Chloe Grace Moretz) finds herself living with her father's best friend, Detective Marcus Williams (Morris Chestnut), but her life as Hit-Girl is far from over and everyday she skips school to meet up with Dave /Kick Ass to practice their whoop ass movements. Aaron Taylor-Johnson gets the brunt of Hit-Girl's bashing. He still seems to be the lesesr equipped

If I were to give Universal’s Kick-ass a three word review; I’d simply say that it was amazing! The film was very violent. The dialogue was witty; and relatable for even someone in their thirties (like me). Each scene was written to carry the action packed film along in the most dramatic way. Even the quiet moments were action packed. I literally desired to get in the film and kick ass!In Kick-ass 2, actor Morris Chestnut plays Detective Marcus Williams. The role is the peaceful caregiver to lead actress Chloe Grace Moretz. In the original film, her father dies. Morris’ on screen peacefulness, yet steadiness, does the role good. The role was not complex; but if he had put a little too...

With Jeff Wadlow’s action-comedy set to open this Friday, Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010′s irreverent global hit Kick-ass 2.
After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) do-it-yourself vigilante bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol. Morris Chestnut joined the cast of Kick-Ass 2 as Detective Marcus Williams, a role that had been established in the original film by another actor, but he didn’t let that define his characterization. Chestnut brought a sensibility to the role that I think audiences will be able to appreciate despite his ‘fun police’ style of parenting. He credits his daughter, who is around the same age as Chloe Moretz and her character, for not only why he got the part, but why this is a character he could easily relate to.
Although Chestnut’s interactions on set were pretty limited to scenes with Chloe, he had a lot to share about his experiences with the film, along with some interesting side notes on what else he has going on in his career, when we sat down with him last week in Los Angeles for a round table interview.

Earlier this month we saw the first red-band trailer for director Jeff Wadlow‘s sequel Kick-Ass 2 and now Universal has released a brand new trailer that focuses on Mindy Macready (Chloë Moretz) and her struggles to fit in at high school. Well, it looks like the skills of her alter ego will certainly help in finding a place among her teenage peers. We also get some time with Mindy’s new guardian Sergeant Marcus Williams (Morris Chestnut). Kick-Ass 2 picks up the story from the original as Kick-Ass Dave (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Hit Girl Mindy’s (Moretz) campaign has inspired a wave of self-made masked crusaders. Dave...

It looks like Spider-Man isn't the only superhero that's going to find high school to be an awkward experience. When we catch up with Mindy Macready in this summer's "Kick-Ass 2," she'll be doing her best to fit in, but it looks like the skills of her alter ego will help in finding a place among her teenage peers. A new trailer has dropped centering on Chloe Moretz's popular character, in what we presume will be the first in a handful of spots zeroing in on specific crime-fighters and villains from the flick. In this spot, which features a good chunk of new footage, we get some time with Mindy's new guardian Sergeant Marcus Williams (Morris Chestnut), and a whole lot action stuff too. But what will be interesting to see is if the meta wink-wink humor of "Kick-Ass" will continue to be fresh when even more serious minded...

'Kick-Ass 2' is a wild, kick-ass ride. I.m proud to be a part of that one. I play Chloe Moretz.s guardian. Nic Cage died in the first movie, so he asked me to look over her, and I.m just trying to force her to do the right thing; in terms of going to school and getting her education, and staying away from the streets, and staying away from Kick-Ass. Shooting doesn't begin on Jeff Wadlow's sequel to the smash hit Kick Ass till September 10th, but pre-production on the movie is in full swing with Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar commenting that the pre-visualiasation work on some of the fight scenes are "mind-blowing". With production staring in little over a week and a half, some house keeping is getting finished up with most of the cast already in place. Actors returning for the sequel (besides the big four of Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Nicholas Cage) are Yancy Butler as Angie D'Amico, mother of hero turned villain Red Mist (now going by the name The Motherf***er), and Lyndsey Fonseca as Katie Deauxma, Kick-Ass's girlfriend. The character of Marcus Williams, last seen becoming the guardian of Mindy Macready (Hit-Girl), but no longer played by Omari Hardwick. Deadline reports that Morris Chestnut (Boyz In The Hood) has landed the role,...

Red Mist won’t be the only problem that our hero will have in Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall. A character named “The Tumour” will be in the fray, a part of Red Mist’s gang of supervillains called — we kid you not — The Toxic Mega-Cunts. British actor Andy Nyman has joined the production for the role, getting himself linked up with Mark Millar’s most ridiculously named baddie boy band. Nyman’s casting was confirmed via his official website, with Bleeding Cool filling in the gaps. You may know Nyman from his work in films such as Severance, Death at a Funeral and Black Death. He’s also known throughout his home country as an accomplished magician and his various television roles. According to Deadline, Morris Chestnut has landed a "strong role" in Kick-Ass 2, playing "the guardian for the young butt kicker played by Chloe Moretz". Now as we know, that would be Hit Girl's late father's former partner Marcus Williams, played by Omari Hardwick in the first movie. Chestnut was last seen on the big screen in Think Like A Man, but will be more familiar to sci-fi/horror fans from his tv appearances in the likes of V and American Horror Story The site also reveal that British actor Robert Emms (Warhorse, Anonymous) will play "Insect Man", a former cop who became a hero after becoming disillusioned by the lack of competence in the police department and joined Kick-Ass's Justice Forever team. Jeff Wadlow will direct Kick-Ass 2, which will begin shooting this September in Toronto and London, and now has an official release date (find that out below). Aaron Johnson,...

This writer, and many Playlist members, will fully admit -- we're still reeling from the fact that something Scottish comic book writer Mark Millar said actually came true. The king of exaggeration, undermanaging expectations, fibs and tall tales, generally everything that comes out of the "Kick-Ass" creator's mouth must be taken with a ocean-sized block of salt, so we were shocked to hear that "Kick Ass 2," was not only actually moving forward, the sequel was actually shooting at the end of this summer (though now it appears to be an early fall shoot). Good for him, though the scoreboard is still akin to 20-1 at this point when it comes to fiction vs. facts.
Moving on, as recently reported, talks are already underway with cast members Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse to reprise their roles in the black comedy superhero film that grossed $48 million domestically and $96 million globally back in 2010. This time Universal,...

Wow, with as much as Joan and Roland went through to adopt - choosing in the end an older child with HIV - I could understand how ruffled Roland was when Marcus Williams showed up in his office. Marcus admitted he had just found out about David, and for Roland's assumption he was there for money was quite an offensive leap toward someone he didn't even know.
