Monogram Releasing and writer/director Chip Gubera sent along word that the zombie-musical feature Song Of The Dead will play in select theaters in the South and Midwest beginning May 1. The movie, an expansion of Gubera’s short that appeared on Fangoria’s first Blood Drive disc, has also been picked up by Echelon Studios for DVD distribution.
Song Of The Dead is about a terrorist bioweapon called Jrv (Jihad Resurrection Virus) that causes the dead to return to life in search of human flesh, leading to the time-honored scenario of a group of survivors holing up in a cabin—only this time to the accompaniment of singing and dancing throughout.
