Boxing movies tend to be pretty great fodder for a harrowing feel-good story. Even people who don't give a damn about boxing otherwise would be hard-pressed not to cheer by the end of "Rocky" or "Cinderella Man." Sure, there is the occasional dark boxing tale, such as "Raging Bull," that makes for equally -- if not more -- compelling cinema. Today though brings us what appears to be an underdog story, and a familiar one for many fans of the sport, as the trailer for "Big George Foreman" is here. Or, to be more specific regarding the title, "Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World." And yes, they did put all of that on the poster.
In any case, this is the tale of George Foreman and, more specifically, his wildly unlikely comeback story as a boxer advanced in his years.

The Original Kings of Comedy actor and comedian Dl Hughley has spoken out against Kanye West’s recent behaviour, arguing that if the musician “was a female”, he’d already be in a conservatorship.
During the past month, the “Flashing Lights” rapper has sparked widespread outrage for wearing a “White Lives Matter” t-shirt during a fashion show, posting and verbalising a slew of antisemitic comments, and comparing himself to George Floyd, the Minnesotan man who was murdered at the hands of police officers in May 2020.
And most recently, in an Instagram post, the rapper compared himself to Emmett Till, the young boy who was brutally murdered by white men in 1955.
West’s string of controversies has resulted in him being dropped by Adidas and sued by Floyd’s family over “false statements”.
Responding to the 45-year-old Grammy-winning artist’s “erratic” behaviour, Hughley, who played the lead role in 1980s sitcom The Hughleys,...

Shudder’s new documentary This Is Gwar, directed by Scott Barber, charts the history and progress of one of the most insidious threats the planet Earth has ever encountered: An art collective who answer only to themselves and, possibly, their legion of fans.
Gwar is best known as an iconic heavy metal monster band with gory stage shows, blistering lyrical assaults, and costumes which land bandmembers in court on indecency charges. Gwar have been teetering on the edge of commercial success for over 30 years. It is also a special effects lab, a live musical theater troupe, and an independent filmmaking studio, all under a creative conglomeration called The Slave Pit Inc.
This is Gwar includes current and archival interviews with the musicians and the creative team, as well as artists who appreciate the work, like Weird Al Yankovic, who gave his own face to the band when their frontman tried...

Photo: ‘Fire Island’ Brief Overview This silly and wild romantic comedy is a great start to kick off Pride month this June 2022. Filled with witty one-liners, a Charli Xcx reference, and loveable characters, ‘Fire Island’ is an entertaining watch that encompasses both friendship and identity. The movie is directed by Andrew Ahn who directed films such as ‘Spa Night’ and episodes from ‘MacGyver’ and ‘Generation’. In addition to Ahn, Joel Kim Booster is an upcoming comedian who starred as the main character of the film. ‘Fire Island’ became Booster’s debut as a screenwriter. The story is absolutely unapologetic and a fun watch for the summertime. When grunge slaughtered hair metal in the early Nineties, all that remained in its wake on hard-rock radio were a bunch of pity parties by singers who hated themselves and the world. And that’s pretty much how it’s been for the past quarter century. The majority of mainstream heavy hits in the past year have been about bad relationships (From Ashes to New’s “Crazy”), hating haters (Five Finger Death Punch’s “Sham Pain”), macho declarations about rising above existential bullshit (everything by Godsmack) and, oddly, rats (Ghost...

Two-piece Cyborg cyber arm and armor by Divamp Couture. $595.
Welcome to the latest installment of Coffin Couture! Grab your jetpack and your old Moon Shoes because in this month’s column we’re going to take a look at some far-out fashion from Barcelona couture designer Boyd Bayton, (the creator behind Divamp Couture), and Berlin-based designer, Lena Quist.
First up, let’s talk about the futuristic designs of Divamp. Designer Boyd Bayton has been perfecting his costuming skills for over 20 years. Bayton’s father was a sculptor and artist, so it didn’t take Bayton long before he found his own creative groove with sewing. Although Bayton says he’s inspired by the Art Nouveau movement as well as designers like Therry Muggler and John Paul Gaultier, Bayton says his true muse is nature. His stunning Cyborg armor (above) may look like they could carry you into battle, however, the...

Miley Cyrus would have made the late punk Queen Wendy O. Williams puke her guts out. In fact, Cyrus couldn’t hold the spit flying out of Wendy’s mouth or rival her fashionable usage of electrical tape to cover her nipples and lady bits.Cyrus continues to slash and burn any conceivable memory of Hannah Montana, a career that gave her the dough to now assault us with her continued love affair of All. Things. Hedonistic. I hope the Kennedy family steels themselves. Cyrus is now professionally flirting with porn. The former child star went from extolling the virtues of Molly to twerking on national TV to […]...

So, get this: I have reverence for the MTV Music Video Awards. If you check their history of winners (and ignore some key, depressing anomalies), they routinely honor the correct people. Since this year's ceremony on September 6 is just a couple of weeks away, we're celebrating with a new celebration of the VMAs' past: a list of the best 10 winners of the coveted "Best Female Video" trophy. For a refresher course in the history of the category, check this out. For a definitive list of the best lady videos' of the past 30 years, check below.
10. Cyndi Lauper, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun"
She's so unusual, indeed -- Cyndi Lauper whipped her block into a swishy, she-bopping frenzy in "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," and while her punky chutzpah certainly warranted MTV award credibility, she deserved every award for out-snarling Elvis and offering killer pipes, to boot.

Hey there, Fiends! First of all I would like to wish you all a happy Easter and hope that you have had a killer day! On to the show! Last night we concluded our once in a lifetime interview with the absolutely amazing Sybil Danning!
We were once again joined by our own "Apocalypse" Amy Lynes as well as a very special guest co-host, the "Monster Man" himself, Syfy Channel's Cleve Hall!
Together we spoke about the campy but super-classic Howling II, the conceptual fight sequence between herself and punk legend Wendy O. Williams in the cult classic Reform School Girls, and the future vampire role that Sybil plans on unleashing to the horror masses!
Talking with Sybil was a "bucket list" moment for myself and the Dungeon. For everyone that has followed the show for the first time straight from the almighty Dread, we thank you so much! And...

Taylor Momsen, the 17-year-old Pretty Reckless frontwoman, recently ripped off the late great Wendy O. Williams' signature electrical tape nipple cover during her band's Sunday performance at the Download Festival in Castle Donington, England. "I'm an extremist and I very much enjoy pushing the boundaries when it comes to fashion," Momsen gushed to Us Weekly at the Kids' Choice Awards in April. "I don't care what people have to say about my style. Fashion's not for everyone. I'm not asking you to wear it." Especially when it's borrowed directly from Wendy O. Williams of the Plasmatics, a punk band famous in the 1980s. Wendy walked the talk. She used her head to bust open the window in a...

"New York, welcome to my party," Ke$ha proclaimed from the Manhattan Center stage on Monday night. "I am here to rock out with my co-- out, and I invite all of you to join me on this lovely evening."
Those were the first words she spoke, and as far as opening lines go, they were pretty solid. Though, two quick points of order: 1) It wasn't actually her party, it was Casio's Shock the World event, held in celebration of the launch of two new watches (Ke$h will serve as the company's new "brand ambassador"), and 2) At no point during her set did Ke$ha actually whip out her co--, though it was probably Ok, since no one else in the crowd did either.

.Not available on DVD. column since it began nine months ago and I realize that 19 of the previous 24 films I.ve written about are from the decade of the 1970.s. It.s not that there aren.t worthy forgotten films of the 50.s, 60.s or 80.s that have yet to see life in digital format, it.s just that, being born in 1961, it was the .70.s when I came of age and I.ve always had a fixation with the many films I saw at the drive-in in the last half of that decade. Besides, only from the politically incorrect .70.s could have come a disco musical comedy about a woman with a talking vagina.
Chatterbox, made in 1977, is no porn film (though bare breasts abound), but a silly R-Rated comedy based on a ridiculous but titillating situation that today doesn.t seem at all sleazy or dirty but really funny and kind of innocent.

Pink
Photo: Andrew MacPherson
A few weeks ago, as I sat in Radio City Music Hall watching Pink dangle upside down from a trapeze bar some 60 feet above my head, risking life and limb (and avoiding a wardrobe malfunction) while positively nailing the chorus of "Sober" — the smart, stunning song she co-wrote with "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi — I sort of realized something:
Pink is totally underrated.
Think about it. She is a fabulously fearless pop artist, as comfortable taking on George W. Bush as she is hanging like a bat from the rafters of Radio City. She is clever and funny and unflinching, willing to take her (oft volatile) personal life and turn it into grist for hit singles. She is a deceptively good singer, something she...

Will Lady GaGa ever come out of her shell and stop being so modest? The "Poker Face" songstress, who's apparently gone back to her blond locks after a brief flirtation with the color purple, was out at London nightspot Bungalow 8 on Thursday night, wearing a sheer black outfit. The songstress neatly accessorized her outfit with a black X fashioned from electrical tape on each nipple. Shades of Wendy O. Williams! A daring outfit, to be sure, though the good Lady might feel some discomfort when she removes it. But hey, sometimes sacrifice have to be made in the name of art. Or exhibitionism.
