Was twice nominated for Broadway's Tony Award as Best Choreographer: in
1976 for "Bubbling Brown Sugar," and in 1979, along with collaborator
'Henry le Tan', for "Eubie!"
Wilson was the ballet instructor at the Elma Lewis School of Fine Arts in Boston in 1972 when he was hired as the choreographer for the upcoming WGBH TV show Zoom (1972). His students at the time included future cast members Nancy Tates, Kenny Pires, and Leon Mobley.
