Dave Worthington has been in the business of scriptwriting and editing
television movies, series and serials for over thirty years. After
several years writing comedy for theatre restaurant, he joined Grundy
Television in 1979 to work on Prisoner (Cell Block H) in Melbourne. He
moved to Sydney in 1983 to work on Drama Development for PBL
Productions, the drama arm of the Nine Network and later, as a
freelance writer and script editor, he worked on many major Australian
series and serials, including Home & Away and Blue Heelers.
In 1991 he re-joined The Grundy Organization, co-producing Neighbours
and working in Drama Development not only in Australia but also in New
Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom and South Africa. He was script
consultant in the development and early production stages of Shortland
Street, a strip serial which became the most popular locally produced
TV drama ever in New Zealand.
Following an interest in computer graphics and 3D animation, he helped
develop an interactive drama series called Gravity Angels for
distribution on the Internet. He has written and developed scripts for
children's cartoon series, a novel for children and edited crossword
puzzle magazines for Pacific Magazines.
