After Platinum Dunes’ remake and a badly-received prequel to said remake, Texas Chainsaw (3D) goes back to where it all began. Picking up directly where Tobe Hooper’s classic 1974 movie, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre ended, this direct sequel shows the aftermath of the first film as the townspeople, discovering their suspicions about the Sawyer’s are true, show the family the meaning of mob justice – burning their house of horrors to the ground and killing every last member of the family – or so they thought.
Decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had. After...

Leatherface cranks his weapon of choice for yet another outing that starts interesting and wastes any potential it had in the opening minutes. Texas Chainsaw (the seventh film in a franchise that has never lived up to the first) was directed by John Luessenhop (Takers) from a screenplay by Kirsten Elms, Adam Marcus and Debra Sullivan (both who wrote the story with Stephen Susco). It stars Alexandra Daddario, Dan Yeager, Trey Songz, Scott Eastwood, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Tania Raymonde, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry, Richard Riehle, and Paul Rae. The film also features cameos from stars of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre - including Gunnar Hansen, John Dugan and Marilyn Burns. Although the film.s story is so weak it seems...

Imagine, if you will, a world where The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation never happened. We won't even mention the remake and its sequel since they're not part of the original canon. The slate of what many consider inadequate follow-ups to the original is wiped completely clean. This scenario is exactly what Texas Chainsaw asks of its audience.
Picking up immediately after the original 1974 film ended, Texas Chainsaw takes audiences back to the Sawyer homestead. Shortly after the police show up to arrest Leatherface (Dan Yeager), an unruly mob decides to take the law into their own hands. They burn down and kill all the family holed up in the house, with the exception of Leatherface and a woman protecting a baby. One of the townspeople kills the woman and takes the baby to raise on their own.

Evil Wears Many Faces
Revving Up Monday 27Th May
Lionsgate’s Texas Chainsaw, the Us #1 box office hit, picks up directly where the terrifying 1974 movie, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre ended, with the repercussions of Leatherface’s shocking slayings. In the aftermath of Tobe Hooper’s classic, the townspeople take dramatic action against the Sawyer family. They had long suspected that the family was responsible for several mysterious disappearances and had their suspicions confirmed when a young woman escaped the house. Word of the murders quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer stronghold, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family – or so they thought.

Happy New Year! Mirroring the lull that follows the high energy end-of-the-year countdown, this first week out of the gate is a pretty quiet one in theaters. (Minus the two extremely violent films that top the docket. Blood and gore: yay!) This phenomenon isn't particularly surprising, but it does leave something to be desired, particularly for anyone who used their vacation time to catch up on every flick that arrived with the holiday release flurry. Accordingly, we'd suggest taking in some smaller fare or using the bye week to catch up with your Netflix queue. On the other hand, there's "Promised Land" (review) and "The Impossible" (review) which both go wide today after their Oscar qualifying limited openings. Let us know what you'll choose in the comments below. "Texas Chainsaw 3D." Directed by John Luessenhop. Starring Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde, Trey Songz, and Dan Yeager. Our review: "The tagline for the original.

The guy is topless while the girl is not in this first clip for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. Hopefully, this clip is not starting a trend in the horror genre. Leatherface (Dan Yeager) is sure to dice up both characters: Nikki (Tania Raymonde) and Ryan (Trey Songz) as they try to escape an isolated barn. This remake of the original 1974 film will release in theatres January 4th and fans of chainsaws and masked men can have a look at a clip for the film below. That's why they call him Leatherback.
Um, Leatherface.
No, but really: You'll only see the back of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" baddie Leatherface in the new production still released today. The murderer stands, back turned to the camera in his infamous tool shed torture chamber, surveying his array of chainsaws and other tools of home improvement/bodily disfigurement.
The set of his shoulders and the fine weave of his color-coordinated rust-hued trousers and shirt scream menace. His unkempt (and also rust-colored, it's worth noting) hair sighs murder. The sight of that behind gives you the shivers. After all, as the tagline says, "Evil wears many backs."
Not quite.
We'll save the terror for when we get a glimpse of this psycho killer (played by Dan Yeager) doing more than just puttering around his shed. We half expect him to turn around, surprised, in this picture. "Who, me?"
Witness those terrifying shoulders...

We have on-set quotes and a new photo from the next Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie. This time it’s called — wait till you hear this — “Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D.” How original!
The photo is of heroine Heather Miller (played by Alexandra Daddario) running from Leatherface (played by Dan Yeager). The film arrives on January 4 from Lionsgate.
Director John Luessenhop: “I’m a huge fan of what [Hooper] did, particularly with the original,” Luessenhop said, “and it’s a bit daunting to step into their footsteps. The last thing I wanted was a 1990s horror movie. What I’ve tried to do is make a traditional horror film for the first 60 minutes, which is what I think will keep you engaged. I’m trying to give you enough time so that you can get to know the characters before they reach the state of horror.”

Following the poster premiere of Texas Chainsaw 3D, Shock Till You Drop has your exclusive first photo from the film opening on January 4th.
In the image, we get a glimpse at Leatherface (played by Dan Yeager), chainsaw in hand, sauntering away from us on an abandoned track to a very apropos location.
The film continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D Movie Poster. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D movie poster for the John Luessenhop directed film does not show any of the cast members except, perhaps, the arm of Dan Yeager who will be portraying Thomas Hewitt / Leatherface this tie around. Poster fate has done a pretty good job of matching up two films that could appeal to a similar audience: 'The Grey' and 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D.' It's a bit of a stretch, but not bad. The first stars Liam Neeson as a member of an oil drilling team in Alaska who after crash-landing their plane draws the attention of a pack of wolves who see them as intruders. The poster comes from the official Facebook page of the film. The teaser trailer for the film was the definition of masculinity and really needs to be seen to comprehend. It involves Neeson, heavy drinking, the aftermath of that heavy drinking, and wolves wishing they would have stumbled upon a baby deer. View that madness here. 'The Grey' is directed by Joe Carnahan, and hits theaters on January 27, 2012. A film that is still in the distance is 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D.

Starring Dan Yeager as the new Leatherface, we've now got your first look at the international one sheet for Lionsgate's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, the direct sequel to Tobe Hooper's 1974 classic that's currently in post-production. The poster gives us a tease of Leatherface, which is a buzz kill. Personally, I hope we never see him until it hits theaters in 2012. I want something to look forward to. Directed by John Luessenhop, the seventh incarnation follows the lead character, Heather, who along with her friends, travel to Texas in order to collect an inheritance. The spin? What would you do if you found out your cousin was Leatherface, and he was now Yours? John Dugan, Bill Moseley, Alexandra Daddario, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry, Richard Riehler fill the cast.

Take a gander at the first teaser poster for “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D”, a reboot/sequel of sorts to the 1974 original by Tobe Hooper. The film will pretend the rest of the TCM movies never happened, which, let’s face it, is probably for the best. As much as I enjoyed watching Jessica Biel and Jordana Brewster running from a chainsaw-wielding maniac, once you add the word “Beginning” to your sequel title, there really isn’t a whole lot of other places to go after that. The film features a cast that includes Marilyn Burns, Gunnar Hansen, Bill Moseley, Dan Yeager, Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde, Trey Songz, Keram Malicki-Sanchez, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry, Paul Rae, Scott Eastwood, Richard Riehle, and will be directed by John Lussenhop (“Takers”). Given the lack of polish on the logo and the mention of Saw 3D: The Final Chapter, we’re guessing this was meant as sales art, but figured that fans interested in the sequel would want to see it anyway.

It's only October 2011 but Hollywood is already gearing up for October 2012. Lionsgate in particular will have a very bloody month. That's when they're expected to debut their latest acquisition, Adam Wingard's awesome horror/thriller [1] You're Next as well as the latest installment in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. Set for release October 5, 2012, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D ignores everything that came after the 1973 original by picking up immediately after the Tobe Hooper film left off. It's directed by John Luessenhop (Takers) and stars Alexandra Daddario (Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief) as a young girl [2] who heads to Texas to collect an inheritance that includes the infamous Leatherface. I was on the blazing hot Louisiana set of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D in August and while I can't say anything more than that, I'll say the film is certainly a love letter to fans.

Lionsgate (via IMPAwards) has debuted a new poster for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, a new film directed by Takers helmer John Luessenhop for an October 5, 2012 release. The is said to pick up the story where the original 1974 film left off and will deliver a new chapter in the Leatherface saga centering on Heather (Alexandra Daddario), who along with her friends, travel to Texas in order to collect an inheritance where they eventually have a run in with Leatherface, this time played by Dan Yeager. Rounding out the cast are Bill Moseley, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Trey Songz, Keram Malicki-Sanchez, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry, Paul Rae and Richard Riehle. But on top of that, while the story takes things back to '74, so does that casting as the film will bring back Gunnar Hansen who played the original Leatherface, Marilyn Burns who played Sally Hardesty and John Dugan will reprise his role as the Grandfather.

Horror cameos are all the rage in this week's Horror Bites, where the scare classics "Evil Dead" and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" will be seeing some famous faces in their reboots of the terror tales.
You'll probably shed a tear learning that Ron Howard's "Dark Tower" adaptation was slashed by Universal, but news that the long-awaited "Cabin in the Woods" – from "Cloverfield" writer Drew Goddard, who co-wrote the screenplay with "The Avengers" director Joss Whedon – is finally getting a release date should quicken your pulse. Friday the 13th in 2012 is going to be a memorable year for the horror spoof about a group of friends who hit the woods for some R&R, but end up fighting for their lives (snarky style).

Im a big fan of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, whether it be Tobe Hooper's original 1973 film or Platinum Dunes' excellent remake in 2003. And to announce another incarnation of the hack and slash Horror icon brings a chill to my spine, and if all goes well in 2012 I can add another successful remake/reboot of TCM to my shelves! If you didn't know, shooting is already underway in Shreveport, Louisiana, and news site Bloody Disgusting has received exclusive word on who will be playing the New Leatherface in Lionsgate's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D!!
Bloody Disgusting reports that discovery Dan Yeager will play Leatherface in the upcoming Horror remake, which Director John Lussenhop describes his audition as a chance meeting. Describing the 6' 6" actor as having "huge farm boy arms, a brooding brow. He's quiet, circumspect, and immediately struck a menacing chord with me. After five minutes, I could no...

It's an odd thing that the men who play such horror icons as Leatherface, Jason, Michael Meyers, and so on aren't really well known. Perhaps it's because their performance is little more than being huge and menacing. Well, according to Bloody Disgusting, the upcoming sequel to the original 1974 film, 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' has its Leatherface: an unknown behemoth standing at 6'6, Dan Yeager. He met director of the film, John Luessenhop by chance -- presumably while towering over a crowd of mere mortals. He's described by the director as: "[having] huge farm boy arms, a brooding brow. He's quiet, circumspect, and immediately struck a menacing chord with me. After five minutes, I could no longer think of anyone else for the role." Yeager even towers over men who previously held the mantle of Leatherface: Andrew Bryniarski, standing at 6'3, who played the character in the 2003 remake and its...
