There seems to be endless low budget horror with titles like the one above (and I have watched many!). ‘The Curse of…’ or ‘The Haunting of…’ and it’s always 50/50 on the quality so I generally go in with low expectations.
I will say right off the bat that The Curse of Buckout Road exceeded those expectations. Buckout Road is ‘the most haunted road in America’ and the movie covers some of the myths, legends, ghosts and folklore that apparently haunt the road. There’s plenty on show and I’m sure plenty more if they were needed for a sequel. A group of young people start to think that these myths might...

Buckout Road is an upcoming indie horror feature. From first time director Matthew Currie Holmes, the film is a throwback to classic good vs. evil horror films of the '80s. In the film, several college students realize that the urban legends, on Buckout Road, are true. This title stars Dominique Provost-Chalkley (The Seasoning House, 2012), Danny Glover, Michelle Mylette and many others. A trailer was released earlier this year. Now, a couple of upcoming film festival dates have been announced. The trailer is a good one. It flashes back and forth across timelines as characters discover the area's haunted past. The clip also blends the religious with the supernatural, in this chilling clip. Buckout Road will have a couple of showings, in October. The next showing takes place on October 7th, in Nashville, Tennessee. Then, there will be another showing, in Toronto, on October 13th. This showing takes place as...

Who doesn't love movies that take place in loony bins? Psychos are just fun to be around, man. Psychos on the loose are even better! Anything can and will happen. Good thing for us fellow nuts that P5ych is on its way!
Cinema Management Group launched sales at Cannes on the upcoming horror thriller P5ych from Saw franchise producer Peter Block.
Block and fellow producer Maxwell Sinovi have offers out to Paul Bettany (Priest) and Paul Giamatti (John Dies at the End) to star.
“P5ych centres on the postmodern conceit of five patients undergoing experimental treatment whose real-life experiences inspired horror staples such as Friday The 13th, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and A Nightmare on Elm Street. When the former victims are made to confront their fears, the memories become real and the body count begins to rise.”
Matthew Currie Holmes, who appeared in The Fog and Firewall, will direct.

When you get word of a horror project on Kickstarter the first thing that comes to mind is who’s begging for money to fund their chintzy art project now. That simply isn’t the case with the subject of this plea. It has come time to fund a potentially rad piece of filmmaking. Let me be one of the first, but definitely not the last to introduce you to P5YCH.
Does this sound familiar to you?
It’s 1984. The five survivors, whose experiences inspired the five scariest movies of all time, are undergoing experimental treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder. It went horribly wrong.
That’s right. It doesn’t. That’s because director/co-writer Matthew Currie Holmes has an original idea that takes a little bit of what we love about our horror obsession and then allows it to evolve into something that has our favorite bogeymen pitted against...
