Frances Bean has honored her dad, Kurt Cobain, on the 30th anniversary of his death. The Nirvana frontman died on April 5, 1994.
“30 years ago my dad’s life ended,” she wrote on Instagram. “The 2nd and 3rd photo capture the last time we were together while he was still alive. His mom Wendy would often press my hands to her cheeks and say, with a lulling sadness, ‘you have his hands.’ She would breathe them in as if it were her only chance to hold him just a little bit closer,...

Kurt Cobain’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, married Tony Hawk’s son, Riley Hawk, earlier this month.
Frances’ godfather, Michael Stipe, reportedly officiated the ceremony, which took place in Los Angeles on October 7.
The couple confirmed their relationship in February 2022, though speculation about their romance began in 2021.
Earlier this year, Frances shared a slideshow with Riley on Instagram.
“I wanted to share a few moments that were captured / created this past year that brought me a great amount of joy,” Frances wrote.
Frances was previously married to musician Isaiah Silva from 2014 to 2017. Frances did not have a prenup, and their divorce may have cost her dearly.
The marriage to Frances, however, is Riley’s first.
Frances has been estranged from her mother for years, but they appeared together at a Kurt Cobain documentary premiere at Sundance in 2015.
Neither the newlyweds nor their families have commented on the marriage.

Congratulations are in order to Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, and Riley Hawk, son of Tony Hawk and Cindy Dunbar, who recently got married.
TMZ reports that Frances, 31, and Riley, 30, tied the knot in Los Angeles on October 7th in a ceremony officiated by Frances’ godfather, R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe.
Frances and Tony first went public with their relationship in January 2022, although it is believed they began dating a year earlier.
Frances was previously married to musician Isaiah Silva, but they separated in 2017. A messy divorce followed, culminating in Silva allegedly auctioning off Kurt Cobain’s 1959 Martin D-18E acoustic-electric guitar (famously used during Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged set) against the wishes of Frances and her mother.
While primarily a visual artist and model, Frances has released several of her own original songs via social media over the last several years. However, she...

Frances Bean Cobain is celebrating life as she enters a new decade. The daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love turned 30 on Aug. 18 and shared a heartfelt post about the near-death experience that led her to embrace herself in a new way.
“30 !!! I made it! Honestly, 20 year old Frances wasn’t sure that was going to happen,” she captioned an Instagram post on Thursday.
“At the time, an intrinsic sense of deep self loathing dictated by insecurity, destructive coping mechanisms & more trauma than my body or brain knew how to handle, informed how I saw myself and the world; through a lens of resentment for being brought into a life that seemingly attracted so much chaos and the kind of pain tied to grief that felt inescapable,” she continued. “Then, an event on a plane which brought me closer in proximity to death is ironically the event that catapulted me...

The next generation of Hollywood "It" couples is here. People were shocked by not one, but two new relationships emerging between the children of celebrities this month. First, Kate Hudson's son Ryder Robinson and Iris Apatow, the daughter of Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann, confirmed they were the new teen dream couple with an adorable Instagram post on Valentine's Day. Then, the Internet was kick-flipping over the news that Frances Bean Cobain—the 29-year-old daughter of Courtney Love and the late Kurt Cobain—was dating legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk's son Riley Hawk. Of course, these two new pairings are far from the first celeb offspring to couple up, with Lily...

The upcoming remaster of “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2” managed to nab the entire original roster for what’s being touted a very “faithful” new look at the classic skateboarding games — but it’s also getting some new additions.
Activision Blizzard announced on Tuesday the full roster of new skaters joining the lineup: Nyjah Huston, Leo Baker, Leticia Bufoni, Aori Nishimura, Lizzie Armanto, Shane O’Neill, Riley Hawk and Tyshawn Jones. They join the previously announced lineup of skaters returning from the original game, including Steve Caballero, Geoff Rowley, Bucky Lasek, Elissa Steamer, Kareem Campbell, Andrew Reynolds, Bob Burnquist, Eric Koston, Rodney Mullen, Jamie Thomas, Rune Glifberg, Chad Muska and, of course, Tony Hawk.
“Modern-day skateboarding originated from a generation of skaters who grew up playing the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games,” said Michelle Bresaw, VP of product management and marketing at Activision, in a statement. “The world-class pro...

Legendary skater and cultural icon Tony Hawk sat down with Rolling Stone to discuss playing a stunt double for David Spade, breaking his elbow while filming a Gap commercial and more in the latest installment of The First Time. He also teased his new MasterClass — during which he teaches skateboarding, of course.
Hawk begins the episode with a reminder that skating wasn’t always easy for him; he started at age nine. “The first time I picked up a skateboard, I ran into the fence because I didn’t know how to turn,...

Remember when indie rock sounded all grimy, corroded and metal-sludgy – the last thing you’d hear in a commercial or being played at an arena show? Warish do. On “Fight,” from the SoCal band’s debut Ep, the grubby, a stoner-rock riff is the first hint, followed by a gas-guzzling rhythm section and a lead singer whose voice is so submerged in aural soot that you can barely make out anything he’s saying. It’s music to the ears of anyone who wants to damage their ears.

It’s official: the next Tony Hawk-branded video game will, indeed, be called Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5. Not only that, but it’s being developed with a keen eye on returning to what made the series popular in the first place. That means there won’t be any more motion-controlled peripherals or gimmicks, which is great news and a definite relief. That said, it has been noted that skaters will be able to shoot projectiles (for certain objectives) and use power-ups – two things that hopefully won’t ruin the gameplay.
The reveal today comes to us from Game Informer, who published a first look at Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 earlier this morning. Therein, it was confirmed that the game will be released this year on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with last-gen (PS3 and Xbox 360) versions also planned for release sometime after that.

In my PSOne playing days there were a handful of games that got constant rotation in the CD drive – Re-Volt, Pandemonium 2, No Fear Downhill Mountain Biking, World’s Wildest Police Chases, Spider-Man and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater (and it’s immediate sequel). So when I heard that a HD update of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater was coming to console my heart skipped a beat. After all, I loved the original games, but had they aged badly? Would a HD remake do the original “memories” justice? And would this HD remake be as bad as some of the others we’ve had recently?
Well the answer are (in order): No; Yes; No.
If you’ve played the modern iterations of the Tony Hawk franchise you’ll know just how lame the recent entries have been and it turns out that despite attempts at changing up the gameplay (such...

Close to thirteen years ago, the video game industry witnessed the start of an extreme sports explosion, which was kick started by Activision‘s release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. The game, which allowed armchair skateboarding enthusiasts to live out their dreams of pulling off incredible tricks and visceral combos, quickly became a phenomenon and singlehandedly created a brand new sub-genre for developers to tinker with. As a result, the next handful of years saw a hefty dose of extreme titles hit every device in existence, but none of them ever came close to captivating fans like Tony Hawk and his friends at Neversoft were able to, and quite a few sequels followed.
If one were to poll longtime series fans regarding their favourite iterations, a noticeable trend would quickly become apparent. That’s because the early Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater titles have proven to be leaps and bounds ahead of their peers,...

Some new information has surfaced on the upcoming re-release of Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD. The game will be released later this summer on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network, and will feature remastered levels from Tony Hawk Pro Skater one and two. The same amazing gameplay will return with a focus on gaining points through combining the best combos.
Some of the new features include a totally remastered HD upgrade of the game by Robomodo using the games original source code, seven of the most famous levels from Tony Hawk one and two, and some new refined controls; for example you can now do tricks in Tony Hawk Pro Skater levels that used to be available only in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2.
In addition, the game will include the best pro skaters from today including:

Activision and developer Robomodo have released a batch of screens for the HD remake/best-of the first two games in the Tony Hawk series.
Here's our first good look at Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD in screens and, if nothing else, it looks like Robomodo at least has given the downloadable title a nice bit of visual polish. The summer release (no firm date yet) will be hitting Psn and Xbla and was unveiled during the VGAs as an attempt to get away from the story-driven, more absurd elements of the later Tony Hawk titles. So no riding around in a hot dog costume pulling pranks, it would seem.
Also, if there's no Spider-Man skin in this, I'm going to be very disappointed and/or surprised.
