Filming has begun in South London on another comedy drama series for BBC Three called Some Girls, written by Bernadette Davis (Game On), and directed by Adam Miller for Hat Trick Productions.
The six-part series follows "the lives and loves of a group of four quirky 16 year old girls who play on the same school football team and live on the same inner city estate". We join them on their bumpy journey through adolescence taking in boys, sex, cliques, teachers, heartbreak, fun and even some football along the way.
Adelayo Adedayo stars as Viva, a working class, innercity girl who lives on an estate with her Dad (played by Colin Salmon) and her younger brother Jamie. Viva is intelligent, hard-working and a little shy, but by no means boring She is part of a very close-knit group of four friends and of the group, she is the one they all go to for advice.

Last night saw Sky One’s new comedy drama Stella debut on the telebox. The brainchild of Gavin and Stacey star and co-writer Ruth Jones sees her play the lead role of Stella, a divorced mother of three in her early forties struggling to make sense of her life in the Welsh Valleys. With her youth a distant memory and her life heading no where Stella looks to make a few changes and get some fun out of her life before its all over.
Along for the ride are her youngest son, Ben (Justin Davies), daughter Emma (Catrin Stewart), her eldest and imprisoned son Luke (Craig Gallivan) as well as her best friend Paula (Elizabeth Berrington) and brother Dai (Owen Teale). The usual parent-child struggles occur as Emma wants to quit school and her father, Karl (Julian Lewis Jones) and his tart of a girlfriend Nadine (Karen Paullada) encourage her.

Cult BBC comedy series Absolutely Fabulous will return with three new specials, co-produced by BBC America and Logo. The two U.S. networks have come on board the specials, currently in production in West London, which feature the original cast led by its two stars, Ab Fab creator Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley, who reprise their roles as the booze-loving Edina Monsoon and her friend Patsy Stone, respectively. “We are thrilled to be able to celebrate our 20th birthday with all of the original cast,” Saunders said. “We hope that, like a good bottle of champagne, we have grown better with age but lost none of our sparkle. We fully intend to party like it’s 1991.” The original Absolutely Fabulous series has been a key part of BBC America’s lineup over the years. Logo began airing the first five seasons in April 2011. Absolutely Fabulous is a BBC Comedy production,...

If there is one word to describe BBC's "Psychoville," that would be “surreal.” This mysterious comedy serves no particular purpose, and that is part of this show's dark charm. There is a mystery at hand: a killer is on the loose and who that is is unknown throughout season one. This series is still ongoing in the UK and only later episodes may reveal who the blackmailer is. He’s upsetting the lives of five uniquely challenged individuals because of something that they did many years ago. This shadowy figure knows, but he's not telling anyone … yet.
This import is like an extended version of I Know What You Did Last Summer, but it is far better. This television show is done with a pinache that only...

There’s been a fair bit of excitement brewing here about Psychoville, the “new scary, funny and bloody thriller” from The League Of Gentlemen actors Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton, so news that the first 2 episodes will be previewed at the lovely BFI on London’s Southbank is welcome to say the least. Better still Reece Sheersmith, producer Justin Davies and cast member Daisy Haggard will be on-stage for a panel discussion afterwards.
The screening takes place on Wed 27th May at 18:15
You can find out more and book tickets (if you’re quick) at the BFI’s website here.
