The Kid, directed by Vincent D’Onofrio, is a finely formed and sturdy old-fashioned western that evokes classics within the genre such as Fred Zinnemann’s High Noon and Henry Hathaway’s True Grit. It’s not a masterpiece of the genre by any means, as it doesn’t transcend the generic material at hand. However, it’s a strong compelling rendition of the somewhat conventional revenge story we’re all accustomed towards, with an affirmative narrative that explores the ideal of loyalty, fate and ambiguity of law in an honest, almost cathartic exploration that propel this into something quite special. Resulting in nothing short of a terrifically engaging,...

Commemorating an era of revisionist-revisionist Westerns (we’re now further away in time from the deconstructed ones than the ones that deconstructed them were from the originals), “The Kid” simultaneously wants to humanize and mythologize its cowboys — and neither effort works.
Yet another story about Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, this time presented from the viewpoint of an impressionable teenager witnessing the final days of their cat-and-mouse camaraderie, Vincent D’Onofrio’s film is a maudlin, violent affair that wants us both to admire and to understand the two Old West luminaries, but all it really does is remind us that famous people should seldom if ever be seen as role models.
Jake Schur plays Rio Cutler, a 14-year-old who intervenes in a fight between his mother, Mirabel, and father, Pete, and accidentally shoots him to death. Pete’s brother Grant (Chris Pratt) shows up full of grief and fury,...

You all know Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin in the Daredevil Marvel series, but he’s also a director, and he directed a new western called The Kid, which is inspired by the legendary outlaw Billy The Kid.
Dane DeHaan (Chronicle) plays Billy the Kid in the film, and Ethan Hawke plays Sheriff Pat Garrett who is hunting him down. The film tells the story of a young boy who witnesses Billy the Kid's encounter with the Sheriff.
Jake Schur plays the boy, and the rest of the cast includes Chris Pratt, Leila George, Adam Baldwin, Keith Jardine, Tait Fletcher, Jenny Gabrielle, and D'Onofrio, who also takes on the role of another Sheriff. The movie actually looks really good and this is the synopsis:
In this thrilling Western, a young boy, Rio (Jake Schur), is forced to go on the run across the American Southwest in a desperate attempt to save...

Another trailer has been released for Asa Butterfield’s new coming-of-age sci-fi drama The Space Between Us. The story centers around a teenage boy who was born on Mars and follows his life-threatening journey to Earth… for a girl. Oh yeah, and while he’s there he also takes the opportunity to look for his dad.
This movie isn’t going to give us anything ground-breaking or mind-blowing but it looks like it tells a simple, charming story. It has a great cast that includes Britt Robertson, Carla Gugino, Gary Oldman, Bd Wong, Janet Montgomery, and Jenny Gabrielle. Here's a detailed synopsis:
In this interplanetary adventure, a space shuttle embarks on the first mission to colonize Mars, only to discover after takeoff that one of the astronauts is pregnant. Shortly after landing, she dies from complications while giving birth to the first human born on the red planet – never revealing who the father is.

"His heart can't handle our gravity, it's too risky!" Stx Entertainment has debuted one more trailer for the cheesy romantic drama The Space Between Us, about a boy born on Mars who returns to Earth and falls in love with a young woman from Colorado. We've seen so many trailers for this already, and the film was delayed from being release last fall, until this February (supposedly to distance itself from the release of two other big space movies last December - Rogue One and Passengers). Asa Butterfield plays the boy, and Britt Robertson plays the girl he falls for and chases all over Earth. The full cast includes Carla Gugino, Gary Oldman, Bd Wong, Janet Montgomery, and Jenny Gabrielle. Will this end up being worth the wait? I'm not so sure, but hopefully they won't delay the release any further. I just want to see this already. Here's the...

A new trailer has been released for the coming-of-age sci-fi drama The Space Between Us, which follows a teenage boy who was born on Mars on his journey to Earth to find love and his father. Asa Butterfield (Ender's Game) plays the boy, and Britt Robertson (Tomorrowland) plays the teenage girl that he falls for.
This looks like an interesting and charming movie that is kind of cheesy. I hope that it turns out to be a decent film, though. It also has a great supporting cast that includes Carla Gugino, Gary Oldman, Bd Wong, Janet Montgomery, and Jenny Gabrielle. Here's a detailed synopsis:

"His heart can't handle our gravity... It's too risky!" Stx has released a new trailer for the film The Space Between Us, arriving in theaters December, about the first boy ever born on Mars who returns to Earth and must experience the planet (and young love) for the first time. Perfect timing to launch this trailer, with Elon Musk discussing his plans for colonizing Mars. Asa Butterfield plays the boy, who at age 16 finally returns to Earth. The main aspect of this movie is the love story angle and he falls for a "street smart girl in Colorado named Tulsa", played by Britt Robertson, but has his own physical struggles. The cast includes Carla Gugino, Gary Oldman, Bd Wong, Janet Montgomery, and Jenny Gabrielle. As much as I want to be excited to see this, it just looks so schmaltzy and goofy. I hope to be proved wrong when it opens.

"Bring him home!" Stx Entertainment has debuted the official trailer for Peter Chelsom's The Space Between Us, about a boy who was born and raised on Mars. Asa Butterfield plays the boy, now aged 16, who finally returns to Earth and discovers a whole new planet for the first time. Of course, there's a love story and he falls for a "street smart girl in Colorado named Tulsa", played by Britt Robertson, but must deal with his own physical struggles. The full cast includes Carla Gugino, Gary Oldman, Bd Wong, Janet Montgomery, and Jenny Gabrielle. This gets a bit cheesy, as expected when there's a love story like this, but it has a sweet side to it that makes it hard to resist. I like the concept of a person being born on Mars and discovering Earth for the first time, I'm just not sure if this is the best version of that.

Directed by: Bair Erickson
Cast: Katia Winter (Ann Roland), Ted Levine (Thomas Blackburn), Michael McMillian (James Hirsch), Jenny Gabrielle (Callie), Vivian Nesbitt (Olivia Kmiec)
“Banshee Chapter” exemplifies the phrase “Still Waters Run Deep”. The poster art lends to either some “Hellraiser” action with some skinned twisted Epicureans or it’s some sort of anatomical horror indie flick. I dunno. After writing a good many reviews by now, I always notice patterns about the things that I mention repeatedly. I realized that I’m a sucker for good poster art. That all too critical first impression that hooks you. “Banshee Chapter” ended up being nothing of what I thought it would be.
The opener shows a montage of legit footage about government mind control experiments. One in particular has been dubbed “Project MKUltra”. What singles this...
