Tonight's X Factor saw a number of hopefuls audition for their chance to impress the judges.
These included Charlie Martinez, who needed permission from The Pentagon in order to audition, and Monica Michael, a youth worker who made Cheryl Fernandez-Versini cry with her original song dedicated to her sister.
Also among the auditionees were Paul Akister, who missed out on a place in the live shows last year, and teenage twin brothers Kyle and Josh, who form The Brooks.

The X Factor judge Mel B shows off her flirty side in tonight's (September 6) episode, with a 19-year-old Us air force serviceman proving to be the apple of her eye.
Mel B was full of flirty compliments for many of the male contestants, throwing out words like "sexy" and "gorgeous" quite often.
Florida resident Charlie Martinez - who is in the UK working with the Us air force - revealed during his audition that he had to receive permission from the Pentagon to audition for The X Factor.
"I actually had to get special permission from my squadron commander. I had to sing for her," Martinez revealed to the judges.
"Did you have your uniform on?" Mel B quipped, and nodded her head in contentment as he revealed that he was in fact in uniform.
Martinez soon had the girls in the audition queue swooning as he sang a romantic...
