For the second year running, Patreon co-founder Jack Conte will bestow one lucky creator with what amounts to a year’s salary -- $50,000, paid out in a monthly stipend -- so they can solely focus on their artistic endeavors.
The two-year-old endowment fund, dubbed Super Patron: A Creator Arts Endowment F*ck Yeah!, was established by Conte with $1 million worth of Patreon stock, but is a nonprofit initiative that operates as a separate initiative from Patreon itself (which just raised $90 million in venture funding at a $1.2 billion valuation).
Applications for the second iteration of the program are available now at SuperPatron.org. The process is lightweight and open-ended -- though the ensuing product must be consumable within a span of three minutes, and submitted by Oct. 16. The selection committee who will choose this year’s recipient includes singer/songwriter Cory Henry, musician Dessa Of Doomtree, visual artist Keef Knight, YouTuber Elle Mills,...

The VidCon Now series kicks off on Saturday, June 20, to be followed by new programming each week Tuesday through Saturday throughout the summer, the ViacomCBS-owned company said.
The first two weeks of the virtual convention, sponsored by YouTube, will feature VidCon co-founders John and Hank Green, former Twitter executive Bruce Daisley, Ben Network CEO Ricky Ray Butler, and creators including Emma Chamberlain, Brent Rivera, Calle & Poché, Nathan Davis Jr., James Charles, Eugene Lee Yang and Jasmine Gonzalez.
Other digital creators participating in VidCon Now are slated to include Gigi Gorgeous, Jacksepticeye, DreaKnowsBest, Ambers Closet, Miles McKenna and Vanessa Brasfield.

Fanjoy, the end-to-end merch platform that creates and distributes limited edition products in collaboration with top YouTube stars like Elle Mills, Jason Nash, and Tana Mongeau, is taking yet another step into physical retail.
Fanjoy has temporarily rented out a brick and mortar space at the Westfield Century City Mall in Los Angeles, where, every weekend for the next several weeks, it will host pop-up shops for different influencers. The first influencers to vend their wares at the store -- which will be open from July 20 to Sept. 17 -- are Sam Goldbach and Colby Brock, a creator duo perhaps best known for their explorations of haunted locales. Their merch line is dubbed Xplr, or ‘explore’.
The pop-up shop will feature new and exclusive merchandise from Goldbach and Brock -- who are repped by CAA, and who announced a brief hiatus from their channel in April after attempting to enact a ritual on a haunted hike.
