The Associated Press explained an image it took of Senator Ted Cruz with a background gun aimed at his head. “Presidential candidate Ted Cruz was shown in a series of 14 photos taken by an Associated Press photographer at a ‘Celebrate the 2nd Amendment’ event Saturday afternoon, held at a shooting range in Johnston, Iowa,” AP’s director of media relations Paul Colford said. “Five of the photos published by AP included images of guns seen on a wall in the background so that it appeared a pistol was pointed at Sen. Cruz’s head. The images were not intended to portray Sen.

Cast say they were misled as evidence suggests film was post- dubbed and questions arise over funding and identity of director
The anti-Islamic video that inflamed mayhem in Egypt and Libya and triggered a diplomatic crisis is at the centre of a growing mystery over whether it is a real film – or was ever intended to be.
Initial reports about The Innocence of Muslims being a $5m production made by an Israeli-American director named Sam Bacile unravelled on Wednesday as ruins of the Us consulate in Benghazi continued to smoulder.
Bacile – originally described as a California-based Jewish real estate developer – appeared to be a fake identity, and Hollywood could find no trace of his supposed feature-length attack on the prophet Muhammad. The blasphemous, 13-minute "trailer" posted online – a ramshackle compilation of scenes which depicted Muhammad as an illegitimate, murderous paedophile – was real, but there was growing doubt that a film existed.

Breaking: CNN will no longer use A.P. articles, according to CNN! A memo from CNN Worldwide president Jim Walton explains: “Starting today, CNN newsgathering will be the primary source of all content for all of our platforms and services. We will no longer use AP materials or services. The content we offer will be distinctive, compelling and, I am proud to say, our own.” This is typical behavior of someone who just turned 30 and is maybe having a bit of an early midlife crisis. This is just what the Associated Press needs. In April, the company posted a 65 percent decrease in profits from 2008 to 2009. And now this. The A.P., to its credit, is being very mature and civil. “We have been unable to reach agreement with CNN,” said A.P. spokesperson Paul Colford of the split. “We will continue to provide AP news to other TV networks and...

Writer/producer James Sclafani has scripted a biopic about conservative radio host and windbag Rush Limbaugh.
According to Deadline, Sclafani is shopping the film around town to any parties interested in a W.-style take on politics and punditry. The script is based on the unauthorized Paul Colford book “The Rush Limbaugh Story: Talent on Loan from God,” a balanced look at Limbaugh’s life and success.
“This is Citizen Kane meets Private Parts, where you have a man who always had trouble relating to people in the outside world, but does it effortlessly in the booth,” said Sclafani. Wow, Orson Welles and Howard Stern movies in the same sentence that’s almost as bold and ridiculous as the stuff pouring out of Limbaugh on any given day. Maybe it’s the painkillers.
I’ll be surprised if a studio picks this up. There’s simply no audience for this.

If Howard Stern can do it, why not Rush Limbaugh?
Deadline reports that producer/writer James Sclafani has penned a film script based on Paul Colford's unauthorised biography "The Rush Limbaugh Story: Talent on Loan From God."
The book digs into the origin of the top-rated right-wing radio pundit's aggressive pursuit of mass success and his lightning rod-like ability to attract controversy and divided opinion.
Sclafani's script is being described as a treatment along the lines of Oliver Stone's "W." and tries to look at both the ambition and demons that drove Rush to success.
Sclafani and Renee Tab will produce though Limbaugh himself isn't involved as yet. A director is being sought at present.

A producer is shopping around a film about Rush Limbaugh's life. Screenwriter/producer James Sclafani penned the script, which chronicles the life of the conservative radio chatshow host, reports Deadline. Sclafani's screenplay is based on journalist Paul Colford's unauthorised Limbaugh biography The Rush Limbaugh Story: Talent on Loan from God. "This is Citizen Kane meets Private Parts, where you have a man who always had (more)...

According to Deadline, writer/producer James Sclafani (a registered Democrat) has put together a script for a feature film about the life of conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh. The new movie will be based on "The Rush Limbaugh Story: Talent on Loan from God," an unauthorized biography by journalist Paul Colford. Sclafani is currently looking for financing. Limbaugh will not be involved with the project. The writer said that his script is similar to Oliver Stone's George W. Bush biopic "W," in that he tries to get beneath the surface politics and controversies and down to the ambition and demons that drove Limbaugh's success. "This is 'Citizen Kane' meets 'Private Parts,' where you have a man who always had trouble relating to people in the outside world, but does it effortlessly in the booth," said Sclafani, adding that Limbaugh is the proverbial fat kid,...

Love him or hate him, you can't deny that talk radio host and political commentator Rush Limbaugh is a force to be reckoned with. The man makes sure that everyone knows exactly how he feels, even if it means mocking Michael J. Fox and the effects of Parkinson's disease. However, I don't want to turn the comments into an all-out political war (though they inevitably will), so instead I'll just focus on Deadline's report that writer/producer James Sclafani is shopping around a script for a Rush Limbaugh biopic based on The Rush Limbaugh Story: Talent on Loan from God, an unauthorized biography by journalist Paul Colford. Obviously this won't be a completely unbiased look at the political pundit, but apparently Sclafani's script will be similar to Oliver Stone's George W. Bush biopic W., as it tries to get beneath the surface politics and controversies and down to the...

This probably won't be fair and balanced. Writer/producer James Sciafani has scripted a film about conservative pundit and talk show host Rush Limbaugh -- aka one of the most popular radio personalities in America -- and is shopping the film around for financing. But the movie isn't likely to be terribly sympathetic to Limbaugh, as Sciafani is a Democrat who describes the film as "Citizen Kane meets Private Parts." What, no love for Talk Radio? Deadline says the film is based on the unauthorized biography The Rush Limbaugh Story: Talent on Loan From God, which was written by Paul Colford. Sciafani compares the tone of the script to Oliver Stone's film W., and says it "will include contradictions that have gone against [Limbaugh's] radio diatribes, from the dubious 4-f draft status during Vietnam (unearthed in Colford's book) to a get-tough stance against drug abusers that was contradicted by the...

Would you pay to see a movie about Rush Limbaugh? I can't say I'm a fan of the guy, but if all the facts were laid out on the table and the right actor was chosen, I'd give it a whirl. Well, apparently someone thinks that he's movie material. Writer/producer James Sclafani is that someone. Sciafani has written a screenplay for a potential film on Limbaugh based on an unauthorized biography by AP media relations head, Paul Colford. The biography is titled, The Rush Limbaugh Story: Talent...

He's the country's top-rated talk radio host, beacon of conservatives, a lightning rod for controversy. Is Rush Limbaugh movie material? Writer/producer James Sclafani thinks so, and has written a feature film about Limbaugh's life that is in the process of being packaged and shopped for financing. Sclafani, who recently sold his script Counter Kid to Bill Murray's Devoted Pictures, optioned The Rush Limbaugh Story: Talent on Loan from God, an unauthorized biography by longtime Gotham-based journalist Paul Colford, who currently heads media relations for the AP. The book served as the basis for the script. Sclafani said the script he's written is [...]...

Angelina Jolie has backtracked after insisting reporters sign an agreement not to ask "personal" questions at the premiere of A Mighty Heart - she is granting an interview to a news agency that refused to do so. Before Wednesday's premiere in New York, Jolie laid down some strict ground rules for the media, despite the event doubling as a freedom of the press benefit. As reported by Roger Friedman on FoxNews.com, journalists were requested to refrain from asking Jolie "any questions regarding her personal relationships" and if they did she "will have the right to immediately terminate the interview and leave." Reporters were also instructed that "the interview may only be used to promote the picture... The interview will not be used in a manner that is disparaging, demeaning, or derogatory to Ms. Jolie." However, after Associated Press refused to sign a document regarding an interview scheduled for later Friday, Jolie has agreed to do the interview anyway. Associated Press' Paul Colford says, "(We were) asked to sign a document pertaining to an interview with her... but declined to sign because it is not AP policy to do so. Jolie has agreed to the one-on-one interview without the signed document."...
