Secret Lives
Now that was a nice little cliffhanger to end things on. I liked last week’s clips, mostly because it’s moving the story forward and getting Lari closer to being out of the closet. Something tells me those pictures are going to end up on a billboard or something for everyone to see. I’m not down with outing, but I totally get why Tale would take revenge on Lari and I can't say Lari doesn't have it coming. You can’t run around bullying people and not have it come back to bite you. I thought the scenes of Lari and Elias together were cute, especially in the photo booth. Still I find the acting on this show by the show's younger cast to be awkward and stilted. They clearly don’t have much experience and it shows.

On episode 2.58 of We Love Soaps TV from the Love Out Loud VI fundraiser at Prohibition in New York City, Billy Warlock discusses his role in "The Normal Heart," the possibility of writing an autobiography someday, and shares his honest opinions on what daytime soaps could have done to save themselves.
We Love Soaps TV: What do you think needs to happen for the last four shows to remain viable and stay on the air? What, if anything, can they do from your perspective?
Billy Warlock: Nothing. And it's not their fault. Honestly, it could have been saved 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 years ago. It's all about money baby. Listen, it's simple. When you see shows getting rid of their mainstays to bring in $1,000 a day actors, that's your first sign of trouble. Tell stories with your core people. Get rid of everybody else. You want the four shows to remain? Get rid...

We asked We Love Soaps TV friend Thom Racina, and headwriter of General Hospital from 1981-1983, to share with us his memories and recollections of writing for Elizabeth Taylor's most celebrated scenes as Helena Cassadine. We thank you Thom for generously taking the time to pay homage to this irreplaceable legend.
Honoring Elizabeth Taylor
By Thom Racina
It was her giggle I recall most. Elizabeth Taylor being completely disarming, sounding like a little girl (as she did in so many movies!), pulling the rug out from under you, making you believe she was just as human as you were (as Tony Geary said when he went up on a line, the first time facing her in a scene I wrote, "It's fucking Elizabeth Taylor!"), totally self-effacing, warm and generous, and wickedly funny. As you can see in the bloopers from General Hospital, she couldn't say her name. The part...

Soap writer and fiction novelist Thom Racina is loved by soap fans and historians for his incredibly moving and memorable love stories on General Hospital (1981-83), Days Of Our Lives (1984-86) Another World (1986-88), Generations (1989-91) and Santa Barbara (1991-93). We Love Soaps TV has had the privilege to talk to the prolific writer before. In this new interview for World AIDS Day 2010, Racina revisited the groundbreaking AIDS storyline that played out on Another World from September 1987 until March 1988. What challenges did he face from NBC? Did Ken Corday really approve a HIV story on Days? Read on to find out.
We Love Soaps TV: It is so great to speak with you again. We are acknowledging World AIDS Day this year by commemorating the stories on daytime that impacted the audience. You were head writer at Another World in 1987 when the Dawn Rollo story began playing out.
