The 118 is on the move. Though 9-1-1‘s current sixth season will be its last on Fox, the procedural has been renewed for Season 7 on a new network — ABC!
Season to date, 9-1-1 is averaging 7.3 million total viewers and a 1.0 demo rating (with Live+7 playback) — numbers that are not only good enough for No. 1 among all Fox dramas, but that would also qualify as the most-watched and top-rated entertainment program on ABC this TV season.

The 118 have narrowed down a return date.
9-1-1 Season 6 will resume on Monday, March 6, Fox has announced.
The last fresh episode of the procedural drama aired on November 28, leaving fans with plenty of questions about when the show would be back.
9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 9 wrapped with Bobby dealing with a personal tragedy in the form of his sponsor's death.
"A person's sponsor is a huge part of not just their life but their support system, EP Kristen Reidel told TV Fanatic of the midseason finale.
"And losing Wendell, he lost his sponsor, he lost his friend, and it's a tricky time for Bobby because of that."
"But I think that his going into investigative mode is a sort of way for him to focus and channel his grief into a plan of action. And we will see that in the back half of the season," Kristen shared.

The 118 is back in action in a little over a week.
Fox has finally unveiled our first look at 9-1-1 Season 6 in the form of a teaser trailer.
We learned earlier this summer that the big disaster to kick off the season would be a blimp crashing into a packed stadium.
However, the official trailer hints at the death of one of the most popular characters.
We see our favorite members of the 118 make their way to several disasters, but the crafty editing makes it look like everyone but Bobby survives.
It's a harrowing turn of events, but it's hard to believe Fox would spoil such a massive development prior to the season premiere.
Then again, the series likes to leave viewers questioning what will happen next, so this could be a huge misdirect.
Losing someone like Bobby would shake up the series like never before, but...

The 118 is always down for a rescue mission, but it’s one of their own who will need saving when 9-1-1 returns later this month.
Fox on Friday released the full-length trailer for the procedural’s sixth season, premiering Monday, Sept. 19 (8/7c), and while a blimp crashing into a stadium full of people is a big deal, we’re only concerned about one person: Captain Bobby Nash. (Trust us, you will be too after you watch.)

Every season, we at TV Fanatic ponder what disasters could be on tap next for everyone on 9-1-1.
Thanks to some new teaser trailers, we finally have some clarity.
The latest horrifying event comes from the sky, thanks to a blimp.
"And welcome to another record crowd at CalAir Stadium. Tonight's contest is going to be worth the wait," an announcer can be heard saying in one of the clips.
"Hold on... What's that?" he adds as the shadow of a massive blimp darkens the soccer field below.
"Oh my God! I think we need a break everyo..." we hear him say before his voice cuts out, and we see stadium lights shattering.
It's creative for sure, and one that will cause ramifications people will not expect.
It's going to be yet another disaster that pushes the emergency services to the limit.

Few remember the short-lived 1970s sitcom “The Corner Bar” and fewer still can recall one of its characters. But those who do celebrate both. Because the series, which premiered 50 years ago this week, introduced the first out gay person seen on a regular basis on an American TV show. With the two came the (slow) linking at last of a largely until-then dismissed part of culture with the business of entertainment media.
A tavern-set ensemble sitcom along the lines of “Cheers,” to come a decade later, “The Corner Bar” was one of a pair of summer replacement shows that ABC introduced back-to-back on June 21, 1972. Its premise was as simple as its title, focusing on the nightly life at Grant’s Toomb, a New York City bar run by Harry Grant (Gabriel Dell). The Sony Choice Collection has rescued another long forgotten TV movie from obscurity and released it as a burn-to-order title. "Kiss Me...Kill Me" is a crime thriller that was originally telecast in 1976. Compared to similar fare from that era, the film is fairly routine, though it might well be more appreciated today than it was at the time of its original airing. This is due to the fact that it boasts a strong cast of seasoned veteran actors- something that was relatively common in the 1970s, when the concept of TV movies became very popular. Most of these productions had star power and audiences enjoyed seeing some of their favorite movie stars on the small screen. "Kiss Me...Kill Me" stars Stella Stevens as Stella Stafford, an L.A-based investigator for the District Attorney's office. She is assigned to an especially disturbing murder case involving Maureen Coyle...

When “9-1-1” Season 5 returns from hiatus Monday and reunites with its spinoff “9-1-1: Lone Star” in back-to-back time slots, leading lady Angela Bassett will be pulling double duty as her character Sergeant Athena Grant appears on the Fox first-responder drama and has a brief crossover appearance on “Lone Star.”
“There’s a thing called Swat-ing, where somebody calls 9-1-1, and they send the police or usually a Swat team to a house,” showrunner Tim Minear tells Variety, teasing the episode. “It’s a malicious prank, and gamers do it to each other. In California, people have died in these raids. So I always thought that would be a fun way to do a crossover because usually it’s cross-state. So we have a story on ‘Lone Star’ where there is a Swat-ing incident and somebody is killed, and Carlos (Rafael Silva) and Grace (Sierra McClain) feel personally affronted because they were used as weapons.

9-1-1 is well-known for beginning its seasons with a bang, but 9-1-1 Season 5 will begin with a lot of darkness.
Fox has dropped the first official teaser, and it confirms Los Angeles will be faced with literal darkness thanks to a city-wide blackout.
While the clip doesn't offer new scenes, it does give us our first look at a city plunged into darkness thanks to what looks to be an explosion.
While a blackout might seem low-key in comparison to tsunamis and landslides, we need to think about the severe ramifications for everyone in the city.
The emergency services are already stretched to the limit, and throwing a blackout into the mix will only complicate things further.
Our characters will need to adapt to a new way of doing their jobs due to the nature of what is playing out, leaving us with a lot of drama to unpack.

Two of Fox's biggest shows are entering a hiatus in early March, but they will be doing so with action-packed episodes.
9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star will each conclude for an undetermined amount of time with their March 8 installments, the 8th episodes of their current seasons, it has been announced.
Given the sporadic scheduling of other shows in the Covid-19 era, it's impressive that each of the shows will have aired for eight weeks uninterrupted, but, unfortunately, we don't know when they will be back.
The shows are still deep into production, so it makes sense to put them on hiatus if production needs to catch up. Creating TV since the pandemic comes with more hurdles than before, meaning that the delivery time for the episodes is longer than ever.
So, what can you expect from the winter finales of both 9-1-1 series? We're happy to share what we know.

It’s never a bad time to dramatize the very busy and dangerous world of 911 first responders. This year, however, Fox’s long-running drama 9-1-1 will prove particularly resonant. Fox announced that it had renewed 9-1-1 for season 4 back in April of 2020, which was right near the beginning of the United States’ struggle with Covid-19.
The show’s production experienced some delays before launching in October of 2020. Now, 9-1-1 season 4 is set to arrive soon, and will have plenty of dramatic ground to cover. This is all to say that yes: coronavirus will play a factor in season 4’s scripts, according to showrunner Tim Minear.
“The characters on the screen will have gone through what the audience has gone through,” Minear told TVLine. “There may be flashbacks that will show what our people went through at the height of the (pandemic), but by the time we resume physical production,...

Abby's back on 9-1-1 Season 3 Episode 18 -- the second part of the two-episode season finale.
If you thought she was going to get up close and personal with her ex-boyfriend all over again, we have some bad news.
In a new trailer released for the finale, Buck is one of the first responders on the scene of the train wreck, which was first teased in last week's trailer.
Unfortunately for Buck, Abby has a stunning announcement for her former flame.
"I am trying to find my fiancé!"
Yes, really.
Fans have been clamoring for resolution for Buck and Abby ever since Connie Britton exited the procedural at the close of its first season.
While it seemed like a good idea to bring Abby back into the fold, I can't help but wonder if the resolution is that Abby has moved on and Buck should follow suit.
Indeed, they had unfinished business,...
