Joined Anglia TV in August 1966 as sound assistant.
Moved to Thames TV, Television House, London for 3 months in 1969 before moving to London Weekend TV sound dept. at Wembley Studios.
Spent 1 year at the LWT subsidiary Intersound Recording Studios, in Studio S within Wembley Studios.
LWT moved to the new South Bank studios , Kent House.
Joined Capital Radio in September 1973 for its start-up.
Rejoined London Weekend sound dept in 1974 and promoted to Sound Supervisor in 1977 and subsequently a Senior Sound Supervisor.
Left LWT in 1982 to join Welsh OB unit, Barcud in Caernarfon as the Sound Supervisor.
Returned to another ITV company Television South (TVS) in Maidstone as a Sound Supervisor in 1983.
Moved to join the sound dept of Limehouse Studios at Canary Wharf in London's Docklands.
I won a BAFTA Sound Craft Award for the National Theatre production of The Mysteries, along with Roy Drysdale.
Became a freelance Sound Supervisor when Limehouse was taken over by Trilion in 1988.
Re-joined Limehouse in 1989 as Head-of-Sound as it opened The Trocadero studio for the Channel 4 Breakfast and then returned once again to the Wembley Studios when Limehouse purchased it.
Went freelance again in 1994 when Limehouse went into receivership, but Planet 24 continued producing The Word, which we then made at Teddington.
After a few more freelance years, in 1997 I left 'live TV sound' and started TV sound post production suite at Ace Editing operating as David Taylor Sound.
Moved to Outpost Facilities at Pinewood Studios, Bucks in 2005, operating as Postfade Sound.
Closed Postfade Sound in 2011. and took up photography again!
