Because Buffy the Vampire Slayer debuted in the Spring of 1997, there was no Halloween episode in the first season. However, Simon and Schuster’s series of tie-in novels fixed that oversight by including an original story that expands on Buffy Summers’ first year at Sunnydale High. Here the Chosen One is still getting used to her new home as well as her duties as the current Slayer. Come October and Buffy meets the most formidable foe in her calling so far. If she’s not careful, though, this powerful enemy will be back next year and every Halloween after that.
Halloween became a biannual event in Buffy beginning in Season Two, and it was in the first of these three Halloween episodes that the show established supernatural creatures prefer a low profile on October 31st. Yet Halloween Rain contradicts that notion when Buffy crosses paths with a vampire at the...

The crew of Serenity is back with this official tie-in novels. Enter to win a copy of the first book in the new series...
Most nerds can agree that space western Firefly was taken from us too soon. Now, the story is continuing with the first original, officially-licensed novel set in this rich storytelling universe, and we're giving away a copy!
The book is called Firefly: Big Damn Hero, and it follows all of the main characters we know, love, and miss—even Badger—from the world of Firefly and Serenity.
Here's the official synopsis:
A perilous cargo
It should have been a routine job, transporting five crates from the planet of Persephone to a waiting buyer. And Lord knows, Captain Mal Reynolds needs the money if he’s to keep Serenity flying. But the client is Badger, and nothing that involves him is ever straightforward. The crates are full of explosives,...

I've got some exciting news for Firefly fans! Like all of you, I've been waiting and hoping that one day we might see a Firefly revival series. As time goes on, that's just looking more and more unlikely to happen. That doesn't mean we can have more official Firefly stories to enjoy!
Titan Books and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products have announced that they are going to develop and publish a range of original new fiction that will tie into the Firefly television series. According to the press release, the books "stand to be official titles within the Firefly canon", and they will be created alongside consulting editor Joss Whedon!
So far, three authors have been announced to be working on this new series of books. They include New York Times bestsellers Nancy Holder (Buffy, Angel), Tim Lebbon (Cabin in the Woods, 30 Days of Night) and James Lovegrove (Age...
