Henley Grace’s birth on August 22 came after Jamie became pregnant for the first time with a son in 2016, but tragically suffered a miscarriage. The Plus One spin-off will follow the lead-up to them...read more...

Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner are returning to TV!
The Married at First Sight couple is starring in their own Lifetime spin-off titled Married at First Sight: Jamie & Doug Plus One.
"In our new spinoff, the joys -- and struggles -- as first-time parents will be out there for all the world to see. First of all, everyone knows giving birth is no joke, but who the heck knew the recovery would be excruciating for days?! And I’m not even talkin' C-section," Otis tells Et exclusively. "I could barely walk, let alone go to the bathroom! And breastfeeding, that’s another one that isn’t talked about (and I’m guilty as charged being a labor and delivery nurse!)."
"But let me tell ya, there is Nothing more amazing than looking down to a sweet face that resembles you and your hubby -- and no greater feeling than knowing you created this precious being. All of the...

It seems like Stranger Things star David Harbour, who plays police chief Jim Hopper, has unintentionally confirmed a Season 3 of the hit sci-fi Netflix series. Season 1 of the series was a smash hit that scored all kinds of critical acclaim. So it came as no surprise when Netflix renewed the show for a second season, which will premiere in October.
During an interview with TMZ Harbour let it slip that the streaming service may have already also ordered season 3 of Stranger Things. While talking about the young cast growing up and how their growth affects the shoot, Harbour said:
“In season 2 and season 3 they’ll grow up, you’ll watch them grow up.” When pushed on whether season 3 has been officially ordered by Netflix, Harbour backpedaled a bit and said, “I think so, but if they hate season 2 then maybe not. But I think there’ll be a season 3.”

Serena Williams is embracing impending motherhood wholeheartedly — in fact, she “can’t wait” to give birth — but the sports legend says being 32 weeks pregnant has made her brain a little “weird.”

The Doctor and Bill head off into the future in Frank Cottrell-Boyce's Smile. Here's our spoiler-free review.
10.2 Smile
If last week’s opening episode of Doctor Who series 10 had some parallels with Rose, in the way that it introduced new companion Bill, then Frank Cottrell-Boyce’s Smile slightly follows the idea of the episode that followed, The End Of The World. That’s because this one zips Bill off on her first adventure, and the Tardis takes her - by request - well into the future.
In this case, the Doctor takes her to a colony for humans, one that doesn’t appear to have any humans in it. Although it does have robots that hark back to Robby from the sci-fi classic Forbidden Planet, albeit with emojis on them. It’s also a colony with superb production design, a future world that feels just that,...

Fox is hoping that anyone* still wants to watch dystopian teen movies. They are basically the only studio in Hollywood that hasn’t been burned in the attempt to cash in on teens attempting to overthrow a dictatorial government/company (Yes, Lionsgate scored huge with The Hunger Games Trilogy Plus One, but they also released the floundering, maybe headed to TV, Divergent film series), and now that production of the highly successful Maze Runner Trilogy is back on track, they are looking to start up a new teen dystopia tentpole. To that end, they are moving forward on their adaptation of The Darkest Minds and have cast Mandy Moore in a major role.

There were so many great lines and moments on Dark Matter Season 2 Episode 5, it was hard to get them all down. Plus one case of revenge that was simultaneously satisfying... yet not very satisfying at all.
The cold open with the Android at the bar was really not as shocking or surprising or even all that startling as I think it was meant to be; after all, we left her at the end of the previous episode clutching that upgrade.
In the end, this story turned out to be less about the Android and her upgrade than it did about One, despite One being, well, dead.
Don't get me wrong, seeing the Android take on the entire bar was pretty awesome, but in a crew with nanite-enhanced Two, sword-master Four, and prescient Nyx, I already miss the Android's semi-innocent state.
The heart-to-heart between the Android and the Hologram only reinforced this for me.

The follow up to Ted, the highest-grossing original R-rated comedy of all time, Ted 2 features more of the hysterically raunchy banter that has made writer-director-actor Seth MacFarlane an entertainment world powerhouse—as well as a touching story of brotherly love. Doctor Who is returning next week for it's ninth season. Peter Capaldi is back once again in the title role. He's gotten good reviews for his portrayal of the character. Capaldi is the 13th actor to play the eponymous Time Lord hero. Cinelinx looks back at the previous decades of Doctor Who and rates all the lead actors of the show's long history.
The First Doctor (Played by William Hartnell) was an aging, eccentric curmudgeon. He had little patience and he didn't suffer fools gladly. He could be very intolerant and dismissive of his traveling companions (except for his beloved Granddaughter Susan) although he started to lighten up as the show went on, learning to enjoy a bemused chuckle once in a while. He started out as an anti-hero but slowly grew into the selfless hero we know today.

Spicer, a former Ponderosa Twins Plus One singer whose voice can be heard on the song's hook, wanted an injunction and damages because he claimed he had neither authorized the use of his vocals nor received any compensation for the track. Spicer sued West, along with Roc-a-Fella Records, Island Def-Jam Music, Rhino Entertainment, and Universal Music Group. The paperwork to discontinue the suit was reportedly filed to New York court earlier this month. This week's Elementary is much more like it: funny, a bit bonkers, and with plenty of character work...
This review contains spoilers.
3.3 Just A Regular Irregular
In any other Sherlock Holmes adaptation, a tangle of maths-based murders potentially masterminded by an anonymous genius known as “Mo” would lead us straight to Moriarty’s door. Not Elementary. Natalie Dormer was nowhere near Just A Regular Irregular, which dusted off shirtless number cruncher Harlan Emple (Rich Sommers) for a satisfying episode about the messy boundaries between Sherlock’s friends, colleagues and ersatz family members.
To my mind, Elementary’s story-of-the-week cases are at their best when dealing with eccentrics and their nutty, nerdy obsessions (remember last season’s nano-dino fun?), so this week’s was spot-on for me.
Funny, revealing and engaging, the high-end mathematics puzzle-turned-revenge hunt unravelled entertainingly, driven along by the engine of Sommers’ endearingly neurotic mathematician. The rich kid...

The Weinstein Company has found some surprising new bedmates in Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. The famously awards-focused company announced Thursday that they have acquired the rights to April Prosser's Plus One, a female-driven comedy about a recently single lady whose go-to wing-women have all gotten married, forcing her to team up with a bawdy last resort. Gloria Sanchez Productions, the female-focused arm of Ferrell and McKay's Gary Sanchez Productions, will produce under the supervision of executive Jessica Elbaum, who also produced Bachelorette. "We're thrilled to be on board with this hilarious and smart film by talented up-and-comer April Prosser.

'Plus One' will be produced by Gloria Sanchez Productions, which is dedicated to female-driven film and TV projects, alongside executives Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. This is Prosser's second screenplay to enter development, as her 2012 Black Listed script "The One That Got Away" is currently in production via Amazon Studios. Weinstein's Julia Rapaport and Melissa Wells will oversee "Plus One." Here's the synopsis: In "Plus One," Rachel comes out of a long-term relationship only to realize all her friends have married off and there’s no one single left to go out with…except Summer, the loud, sexually-oversharing wild card who is now Rachel’s only option for a wing woman. Harvey Weinstein says Prosser is a "talented up-and-comer" and that "female-driven comedies continue to be a tremendously exciting force in film these days." Weinstein has a solid slate of Fall 2014 films led by women:...

Since cancelling our cable subscription, at my house we are often at a loss for what to watch. We have every imaginable streaming service, but I feel like all of that variety makes it even harder to narrow down what we would like to watch. I’m often so bombarded with review copies of things that I seldom have a chance to watch what I “want” to watch in the first place, so wasting time choosing something on Netflix/Hulu/Hbogo/Amazon Instant is even more infuriating. Sometimes I wish somebody would just tell me what to watch. Please note that this is no kind of “Top” list. These movies are not ranked. This is just a list of 4 horror films currently on Netflix instant that I feel must be watched by fans of the genre. If you have any recommendations, please put them in the comments, or send me an email at Shawn@liberaldead.

Coherence
Written and directed by James Ward Byrkit
USA 2013
We are who we are, even when we’re not. This is the playfully frightening twist posed on an old Twilight Zone episode in director James Wart Byrkit’s directorial debut.
Coherence re-visits such a concept, as several friends and couples gather for a dinner party the night a comet is passing overhead. Bykirt’s opening scenes play more like something out of a mumblecore movie, with harsh, thirty-something, improvised bitterness seeping between friendly smiles. Soon, strange happenings begin to occur; cell phone screens suddenly crack, loud noises are heard outside. When the lights of the whole city block are shut off save for one mysterious house at the top of the hill, the friends go to investigate only to find in the house something…oddly familiar.
Thus begins the old doppelganger guessing game of who’s who only with a...

From the director of the remake of the movie that should never have been remade, Last House on the Left, comes a movie distributed by IFC, which we all know stands for, “It Failed Commercially.” With an all-star cast led by that weird guy who stood outside Ethan Hawke’s house in The Purge and a really indie girl from Chronicle that is really super indie, +1, now titled Plus One on the cover art, fails on the page long before it disappoints on the screen.

If you’re not quite sold on Jake Gyllenhaal and director Denis Villeneuve’s doppelganger thriller “Enemy” yet, check out this brief, almost 1-minute Nsfw tease which features a few choice languages and lots of flashes of skin. Plus one really pregnant woman. Who says sex doesn’t sell? I certainly never did. Check out Jake Gyllenhaal fighting with Jake Gyllenhaal below. But not in the Michael Bay kind of fighting, apparently. More of in the white-knuckle, “Oh my God what are they gonna do?” kind, from what I can tell. You know, gritty and such. Enemy tells the story of a university lecturer named Adam (Gyllenhaal) who is nearing the end of a relationship with his girlfriend Mary (Laurent). One night, while watching a film, Adam spots a minor actor who looks just like him. Consumed by the desire to meet his double, Adam tracks down Anthony, an actor...

“Plus One” may not seem like a straight up horror film. I found myself watching it early on and debating its horror chops. Maybe a little drama, maybe a little sci-fi swirled in. Thriller may be where you might find this disc residing in a bricks and mortar video store, if such a thing exists anymore. I’m going with horror though, and I can back it up by saying that “Plus One” goes where it’s really scary. Something supernatural happens and turns the volume way up on all the natural stuff like unrequited love, jealousy, anger, self-preservation, loneliness, paranoia, and the most terrifying of all adolescence.

Short Term 12 One of my top ten movies of 2013, Short Term 12 was a movie that surprised me with its honesty as well as writer/director Destin Cretton's ability to turn a cliched moment into an authentic one. It's a film filled with passion, disappointment, love and humor. You know, sorta like life. I urge you to check it out.
Fruitvale Station A heavy contender for my top ten movies of 2013, on another day, perhaps Fruitvale Station actually makes it into my top ten. From the feature writing and directorial debut of Ryan Coogler to the performances from Michael B. Jordan, Melonie Diaz and Octavia Spencer, this is a film that deserves recognition, but it unfortunately won't receive anywhere near as much as it deserves.
Rififi (Criterion Collection) I will have my review of this one online shortly, but until then know this Blu-ray looks great, far better than the previous DVD release.

“Promises,” the Parenthood episode that reimmersed us in the Braverman-iverse after a three-week holiday break, was mild from a cry perspective, but colored with enough compelling shades to make it a pretty strong hour of television.I loved the rift between Max and Hank and its impact on Hank, which will be covered in more detail momentarily. I loved the nitpicky rules of the silent auction, which, as any parent who has attended such an event can tell you, are very real and must be followed. (No, Crosby, you cannot bid on the Napa trip after bidding has clearly closed, although I do respect your bold decision to bid on Sarah’s photographs on Ed Brooks’s behalf. I’m assuming the amount of money Crosby and/or Ed listed on the auction sheet was: “Infinity Dollars, Plus One.”) Also: I really loved the cameo appearance by the great Paul Dooley,...

His latest single "Bound 2" made headlines with its overly-revealing music video, but now Kanye West is being smacked with the lawsuit over his allegedly unlicensed sample in the single.
According to the New York Daily News, member of the 1960’s group Ponderosa Twins Plus One Ricky Spicer filed the lawsuit on Monday (December 23) and claimed his lyrics have been used without permission by the “Love Lockdown” hitmaker.
The suits states, “Mr. Spicer’s voice is sampled exactly as her recorded it and his voice… is heard several times.”
It also asks Mr. West to either pay Ricky or cease and desist from using his voice in the single.
Mr. Spicer is also suing Kanye’s labels Roc-a-Fella Records, Island Def Jam Music, Rhino Entertainment and Universal Music Group.

Ricky Spicer, whose twelve-year-old vocals Kanye West sampled in "Bound 2," is suing West, reports the Daily News. Apparently, he first heard "Bound 2" on the radio, never having given his permission for his voice to be used. Strange, given the original song was called "Bound" (by Spicer's boy band, the Ponderoa Twins Plus One) and "Bound 2" is clearly named for it. Spicer isn't just taking action against West, he's also suing Roc-a-Fella Records, Island Def-Jam Music, Rhino Entertainment, and Universal Music Group — so this appears to be a case of miscommunication.

Hello Daddy
Poor Jack just can’t catch a break. He’s trying to get on with his life as a hot single dad, but is constantly being drowned in Emily‘s backwash. This week he makes tentative steps toward a social life again by accepting a date with FiFi LePew to be her Plus One for her big magazine launch.
Unfortunately, those plans are scuttled when he comes home to find Aidan waiting in the shadows with a warning. Conrad is on the warpath, and wants him gone. And what Conrad wants, Conrad gets. Shaken, he takes Baby Carl away to an … Endangered Infant Safe House? … he doesn’t specify, but he tells Emily that Carl will be gone until all of this Reven8e stuff is over with.
