With the new Fast X trailer showcasing scenes starring Paul Walker and the 7th entry in the series having been finished after his untimely passing, fans are reminded of how some films needed to be finished even though the star passed on. While Furious 7 did so with taste and tact, some pushed the envelope maybe a bit too far. Here are some of the good ones, and some of the (very) bad ones.
Game of Death (1978)
Possibly the first title that comes to mind for film aficionados when the subject of films finished after their stars passed comes up is Robert Clouse’s Game of Death. Bruce Lee passed away on July 20th, 1973, and Game of Death was finished in 1978. That is quite the gap, and this may be explained by multiple reasons of course, including the fact that a decision needed to be taken on how to proceed...

Fresh from its festival tour, Rashad Haughton's short film Muga Shozoku is getting ready to make its online debut, and we've got a very impressive looking trailer to share. Haughton may be familiar to ScreenAnarchy readers as the writer/director of 2012's Love Like Aliens, a futuristic love story that took the form of a music video with music composed by Haughton. I first saw his work at the Asian Film Festival of Dallas in 2012 and remember being very impressed. With Muga Shozoku, Haughton has moved from a fully CG experience to a mix of live action and CG to create an interesting looking film that feels similar to Japanese steampunk/future shock features like Goemon or Casshern. Muga Shozoku features a trio of leads, most of...

Hollywood tragically lost R&B star Aaliyah 12 years ago.
The Brooklyn-born singer died in a plane crash on Aug. 25, 2001. She was flying home from the Bahamas, where she was on location filming her "Rock The Boat" music video. She was 22 years old.
Aaliyah shined bright from a young age. She appeared on an episode of "Star Search" at 10 years old, then signed with Jive Records two years later. R. Kelly even served as a mentor during her earlier music career stages.
She was a multi-talented triple threat. The Grammy-nominated R&B queen topped the charts with classics, including "Are You That Somebody" and "Try Again." She proved her acting chops with lead roles in "Romeo Must Die" and "Queen of the Damned." Her stunning beauty was recognized in a Tommy Jeans ad campaign.
Recently, Aaliyah has been in the news as rappers Drake and Chris Brown resurrected the star's sultry voice in their own releases.

One week after the first single leaked from the posthumous Aaliyah album put together by Drake, longtime Aaliyah friend and professional partner Missy Elliott has spoken out about the disc, denying rumors that she and Timbaland have plans to work on the album.
"Although Missy and Timbaland always strive to keep the memory of their close friend alive, we have not been contacted about the project nor are there any plans at this time to participate," Mona Scott-Young, longtime manager for Elliott, said in a press released to Billboard. "We've seen the reports surfacing that they have been confirmed to participate but that is not the case. Both Missy and Timbaland are very sensitive to the loss still being felt by the family so we wanted to clear up any misinformation being circulated."

Aaliyah's family have stated that they have not agreed on a posthumous album project featuring the star. Drake unveiled a duet between himself and the late singer titled 'Enough Said' earlier this week, and it is expected to form part of a new album. However, the family have said that they are not involved in any release, and have not given it their blessing. Aaliyah's brother Rashad Haughton told The Guardian: "There is no official album being released and supported by the Haughton family." The singer's regular producer Timbaland had expressed his disappointment to not be (more)...

A posthumous album from Aaliyah is reportedly in the works, according to the late singer’s former producer Jeffery "J. Dub" Walker.
Walker, who co-wrote “I Refuse” and “What If” off of Aaliyah’s 2001 self-titled third album, tweeted earlier this week (which was later deleted) that an unreleased song that he produced titled “Steady Ground” will be featured “on her upcoming album.” Following the tweet Walker revealed to YouKnowIGotSoul.com that the track was originally recorded for the “One In A Million” singer’s 2001 opus.
“It was really the first single after “Rock The Boat,” but my engineer was mixing the record and somehow lost the vocals,” he explained. “So the vocals that you hear are really just the demo vocals. The final vocals got erased, so yeah. So that’s why it didn’t make the album.”
Though there’s no official statement or release date set for the project,...

Fans of Aaliyah may be in for a treat, if one of the last producers to work with the late R&B superstar is to be believed.
Jeffery "J. Dub" Walker, who crafted "I Refuse" and "What If" for the singer's final studio album, 2001's Aaliyah, tweeted Monday that a posthumous album composed entirely of previously unreleased material is in the works. Walker's tweet has since been taken down, but Soul Culture managed to take a screen grab before it was pulled.
"Just got great news today; the smash unreleased song called 'Steady Ground' I produced on #Aaliyah is gonna be on her upcoming album," Walker's tweet read.
Walker previously revealed to YouKnowIGotSoul.com that "Steady Ground" was intended to be included on Aaliyah but was...
