The directorial debut of theater director Simon Evans, whose stage credits include the Olivier-nominated Killer Joe with Orlando Bloom, the film was written by Osborne from his own novel, which focuses on an Englishman adrift in Cambodia who is eager to sidestep a life of quiet desperation as a small-town teacher. Christopher Doyle, best known for his collaborations with Wong Kar-Wai, will shoot the project, which Double Dutch International is introducing at Afm.

Spice Adams, meet Baby Spice. Emma Bunton, the British TV personality and former Spice Girl, is joining Anthony “Spice” Adams as host of The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition, which will premiere at 9 Pm Thursday, December 6 on ABC.
The show challenges contestants to put their best recipes forward as they compete in holiday-themed challenges and eliminations in the hope of being named America’s Best Amateur Baker.
The judges panel also has two new faces for the competition series’ fourth season: Sherry Yard, a three-time James Beard Award-winning pastry chef, and Paul Hollywood, a baker and cookbook author who has appeared on The Great British Bakeoff, the UK series on which the U.S. show is based.

While the Casting Society of America has created a tradition of honoring its members with the annual Artios Awards since the 80s, the U.K.’s Casting Directors Association is building on their new one with the second annual ceremony this year. The association announced its second ever batch of nominees on March 19 for the Cda Awards 2018, which will take place in London on May 3. This year’s ceremony will be hosted by comedian and writer Shappi Khorsandi. The awards cover short film, photography, commercials, and music videos and boast three nominees in each category. Sarah Millican, Jason Manford and Frankie Boyle will be among the hosts of the latest Live at the Apollo series.
A 10th series of the comedy showcase will return in November, with six new episodes.
Millican will host the first episode with special guests Joe Lycett and Russell Kane, while Manford will host alongside Chris Ramsey and Doc Brown.
Boyle will be master of ceremonies for the third episode with guests Simon Evans and Aisling Bea.
Jon Richardson, Hal Cruttenden and Danny Bhoy will host the final three episodes, with guests Sara Pascoe, Nathan Caton, Justin Moorhouse, Tom Stade, Miles Jupp and Lee Nelson.
The series will be recorded live in front of 3,500 audience members at London's Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith.
Further broadcast details will be announced in the coming weeks.
