Those who’ve been to a live studio taping know how exhausting they are. To sit in the audience, you need to show up five hours before the taping. You get a number and are told to leave and come back an hour before. Then, the interns line everybody up according to their number and shuffle the audience inside. The actual taping isn’t short, either. It takes about three to five hours, depending on the show. It’s a full day experience, and not necessarily too pleasant when you don’t expect to win anything.
So why did Ted Slauson, a math teacher from Texas, attend “The Price Is Right” 37 times? Well, he didn’t do it because he liked to spend his Mondays waiting around in a cold studio.

For any of you who may still be unfamiliar, Bb is the new project from Cj Wallis, owner of FortyFPS Productions. His work is synonymous for outstanding camera work and cinematography, as well as a signature modern, yet classic look. Bb is his return to the horror/thriller genre after taking time away to do documentary filming for hip hop artist Curren$y and his JetLife record label.
Bb synopsis from IMDb:
Bb is the provocative story of a girl named Leah who, under the name “Candy Cummings”, performs strip shows online from her apartment for thousands of strangers every day, never fully knowing the extent of evils that could be watching on the other side of the screen.
When I saw the first teaser trailer for Bb, I was immediately hooked. After watching, I reached out to Cj, asking for absolutely any info I could get on the project.

There are a lot of unaccomplished filmmakers out there, especially in the horror community buying deeply into their own hype. But how often do we have an unassuming filmmaker who has been behind the scenes, helping to craft some of the best indie horror sensations that comes out swinging with their first effort? Cj Wallis is such a filmmaker. He’s the man who helped the Soska Sisters become what they are; : he was the backbone of Dead Hooker In A Trunk and was heavily involved in the pre-production of American Mary. Conveniently not a part of their Women in Horror agenda, he shows us what he's been cooking on his own these past 3 years.

This just in from the "It's About Time" desk:
Dead Hooker in a Trunk, the Soska sisters' Canadian grindhouse spectacular, is getting a first-class Region 1 DVD release — nearly three years after its completion.
It's been a long haul for Jen and Sylvia Soska's Dead Hooker. What began as a film school project morphed into an exploitation classic that attained near-mythic status on the festival circuit and transformed the Soskas into indie darlings along the way.
Sadly, though you've likely read about this flick, you probably haven't seen it. But, thanks to the beneficence of the folks at IFC Midnight, on January 31 you’ll finally get the opportunity to enjoy the Twisted Twins' debut feature.
I'm pretty jazzed about this development. I've been singing the praises of the Soskas and their warped little film for a while now, so it's nice to know that the rest of world's genre fans will,...

Yes, it's Sunday. Grey skies cover most of the country. People are working hard on their Thanksgiving menus, and us? Well, we're sitting here sniffing around for some new horror news. That being said ... the full cast has been announced for the Soska sisters' latest flick, American Mary.
The flick will star Katharine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps), Leah Gibson (Watchmen, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), Paula Lindberg ("Fringe"), Antonio Cupo ("Dark Angel", "Andromeda"), David Lovgren ("Red Dwarf", "The Outer Limits"), Twan Holliday (Pathfinder), and Tristan Risk (Vancouver's Sweet Soul Burlesque).
Synopsis:
American Mary is the story of a medical student named Mary who is growing increasingly broke and disenchanted with medical school and the established doctors she once idolized. The allure of easy money sends a desperate Mary through the messy world of underground surgeries, which leaves more marks on her than the so-called freakish clientele.

Here they chat about spiders, grindhouse and their new movie, American Mary.
So it’s true Poltergeist was the first horror movie you saw?
S: Yes and it was awesome. After that, my mom had a very particular rule about horror. It was Ok to see the movie if we read the book first. Last week, Jen and Sylvia Soska went public with their burning desire to make an Addams Family film. They even have a Facebook petition you can "like" in hopes of persuading Paramount to consider their proposal. They have more than 250 signatures at this writing, so obviously it's an appealing idea. I mean, think about it. Who better to give this franchise new life than two of the most exciting female filmmakers on the scene?
When I decided to write a piece on the Soska sisters' mission, I got in touch with them, hoping for a few salient quotes with which to fill out my article. But, instead, I came away with a full-blown interview. This was totally unexpected considering they are in the middle of production on their next feature, American Mary, which will star the lovely Katharine Isabelle and feature the talents of the amazing Cj Wallis.

Twisted twins Jen and Sylvia Soska, the masterminds behind Dead Hooker in a Trunk, are back at it with American Mary, a film they're keeping quite close-lipped about other than promising its trailer will debut on December 11th.
The date is an important one to the women as it also happens to be the two-year anniversary of their production company's formation.
A brief blurb about the trailer showed up over on AnythingHorror.com: "The new film is called American Mary and Jen and Sylvia wrote, directed, and produced it. But they also decided to keep the same talented people involved with this new film. C.J. Wallis (who wrote the original music, did the cinematography, edited, and did the visual f/x for Dead Hooker) is again doing the cinematography and editing and is also a producer on American Mary. I know you remember C.J. Wallis ... he played “Goody Two Shoes” in Dead Hooker!
