Last week, Sarah Jessica Parker revealed that Aidan Shaw would factor into Carrie Bradshaw’s life in season 3 of And Just Like That…, the reboot of Sex and the City. Last season, fans didn’t see Aidan until halfway through the season. They won’t need to wait as long this time, it seems. Just days after Parker’s revelation, Corbett was spotted on set. Aidan is back; we just aren’t exactly sure in what capacity yet.

When season 2 of And Just Like That… ended, Carrie Bradshaw was seated on a beach with Seema Patel. The pals, caught in different types of limbo with their respective lovers, seemed to find comfort in each other’s company. While Patel’s break had a near-future endpoint, Carrie’s potential reunion with Aidan Shaw was much further away.

In a recent appearance, Parker dished a bit about the upcoming season of And Just Like That… and even discussed the advice she would give a young Carrie Bradshaw. It is a bit surprising, but Parker’s advice largely centers around Aidan Shaw.

Candace Bushnell is not creatively attached to And Just Like That…, the Sex and the City reboot. She still has plenty of opinions on Carrie Bradshaw’s love life, though. In a recent interview, Bushnell confidently asserted that Carrie Bradshaw probably could have been pretty happy with how her life would have turned out if she had married Aidan Shaw. The statement starkly contrasts Bushnell’s thoughts on the subject just a year ago.
Candace Bushnell thinks Carrie and Aidan could have been happy together
Candace Bushnell has seemingly changed her stance on Carrie Bradshaw’s love life. As the author of Sex and the City and the inspiration for Carrie Bradshaw, no one would know better who the quirky sex columnist belonged with, yet she remains unsure. In 2023, the famed author took to X to reveal that she didn’t think either one of Carrie’s “big loves” was the right fit for her.

Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) never deserved Aidan Shaw (John Corbett), and every Sex and the City (now available on Netflix) fan knows it. First, let me preface this: Carrie and Aidan were never compatible. Their lifestyles, emotional maturity, and visions for the future were completely different. It’s a wonder Carrie and Aidan lasted as long as they did. But, love is never simple, so Carrie and Aidan got wrapped up in a relationship she did Not need to be in after Big (Chris Noth) ruined her. And what did she do? She destroyed her relationship with Aidan piece by piece as if she was dismantling old furniture in his shop. As soon as Big told Carrie that he missed her and that he couldn’t stop thinking about her, Carrie began lighting her relationship with Aidan on fire. It didn’t matter that Aidan was actually kind to...

The cast of And Just Like That… took a big break from filming. The cast finished filming for season 2 in April 2023. Now, they are ready to head back to the set for season 3. While the cast is getting ready to hit the streets of New York, they are staying very quiet about what Sex and the City fans can expect from season 3 of the reboot. An Instagram story might hint that Carrie Bradshaw’s new apartment, featured in season 2, will be part of the story.

It appears to be official, And Just Like That… fans will get what they want. Che Diaz reportedly will not appear in season 3 of the divisive reboot of Sex and the City. While Warner Bros. has not offered an official statement, several media sources have reported that Sara Ramirez, the actor who portrayed Che Diaz, will not return for season 3 of the reboot.
Sara Ramirez has been hinting at their firing for days

Carrie Bradshaw may have been the main protagonist in Sex and the City, but that doesn’t mean fans of the series always agreed with the decisions she made. Actually, many viewers are highly critical of Carrie and have accused the character of massive overreactions and poor behavior over the years. Still, there were times when everyone was totally on her side. Here are three examples.
‘Sex and the City’ fans agree that Kyra should have paid for Carrie’s shoes
By season 6 of Sex and the City, many fans had grown tired of Carrie’s constant need to see herself as the victim. Still, most viewers agree Carrie was 100% right to ask her friend, Kyra, to replace her shoes. They also agree Kyra was completely wrong for shaming Carrie for her spending habits.

Max’s And Just Like That… has returned to the writer’s room to begin work on Season 3.
No date has been set as of yet for start of production, pending the conclusion of the SAG-AFTRA strike, according to Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content, who spoke earlier today at the HBO and Max 2024 Programming Presentation in New York.
In August, the Sex and the City continuation series was greenlit for a third season with Max Head of Content Sarah Aubrey touting the show’s achievement of rising to become “the No. 1 Max Original overall and most-watched returning Max Original to date.”
The series didn’t hold back in Season 2 by bringing back franchise favorites John Corbett, returning as Carrie’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) “one that got away” Aidan Shaw, and Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones.

Season after season, Sex and the City fans watched their four Cosmopolitan ladies date a string of losers. Even Samantha Jones, best known for treating sex like a competitive sport, managed to bed a couple of duds. Despite all of that, there were good men in the mix. Charlotte York’s second husband, Harry Goldenblatt, is a great example. Some fans would insist Carrie Bradshaw’s first fiance, Aidan Shaw, was one of the good ones, too. Finally, Samantha’s Smith Jerrod was the perfect man to get Samantha to settle down. Still, we could argue that two rejected Sex and the City love interests were actually the most respectful of their partners. Trey MacDougal and Aleksandr Petrovsky were tossed aside far too soon. They also tend to get a bad rap.

Carrie Bradshaw had two great loves in her life. Mr. Big, the first great love, died in the premiere episode of And Just Like That…, the Max reboot of the famed series. Her other great love, Aidan Shaw, is set to return in season 2 of the reboot. Ahead of his return to Carrie’s life, we can’t help but reminisce about how it all began. We’ve collected four episodes fans should watch before Carrie and Aidan rekindle their love.
The Season 3 episode, “No Ifs, Ands or Butts,” features the first look at Aidan Shaw
Aidan Shaw first appeared in the season 3 episode, “No Ifs, Ands or Butts.” In the episode, Carrie and Stanford Blatch head to a furniture store to “ogle” the craftsman. It turns out to be Aidan. Despite Carrie’s initial disinterest in going to the store, she is so taken by Aidan that she buys an expensive chair from him.

Aidan Shaw is set to return for season 2 of And Just Like That…, The Max reboot of Sex and the City. In the final moments of episode 6, fans saw Carrie send off an email to Aidan, hoping to reconnect with her long-ago love. The preview for the upcoming episode shows Aidan walking back into Carrie’s life. While it’s nice to see an old face return to the reboot, we can’t forget what happened between Carrie and Aidan. Carrie’s critics largely blame the sex columnist for her failed engagement to Aidan, but was she really all to blame? We think it might have been at least partly Aidan’s fault.

Carrie and Aidan first met during season 3 of Sex and the City. The couple were awfully cute together until Carrie started an affair with Mr.

Sex and the City fans voiced many complaints about season 1 of And Just Like That…, the Max reboot of the iconic series. Miranda Hobbes’ storyline and how the show treated Steve Brady received the most backlash. It wasn’t just Miranda cheating on Steve that bothered fans, though. It was the way the show portrayed him entirely. He wasn’t a sexy but immature bartender anymore. He jumped straight to a stereotypical feeble old man. Steve seemed bewildered and weak in season 1. He acted disoriented often, and his hearing loss was mentioned too often. Clearly, the writing team was overemphasizing his “age-related” ailments. A correction has been made. Steve appeared for the first time in season 2 in episode 4, “Alive!,” and he certainly seemed more active than in season 1. So, is Steve going to get a redemption storyline? Maybe.

Spoiler alert! If you haven’t seen season 2, episode 4 of “And Just Like That”, proceed with caution.
Is “And Just Like That” finally hitting its stride? The “Sex and the City” reboot is four episodes into its sophomore season, and Thursday’s episode proved to be its best yet.

There are quips about Miranda’s new fluid lifestyle with Anthony calling her “Rachel Maddow.” There are not-so-subtle euphemisms on Charlotte’s part — mayo, confetti, and a finale of fireworks (Happy July 4th!), no less — and at the heart of it, there’s the friendships fans of the original “Sex and the City...

While Kim Cattrall was not initially asked to return for And Just Like That…, it looks like Max wanted the star to appear at least briefly. Twenty-five years into the “Sex and the City” franchise, Cynthia Nixon isn’t afraid to strip down on season 2 of the show’s Max spinoff, “And Just Like That”.
The 57-year-old actress plays lawyer-turned-live-in-girlfriend Miranda Hobbes, who left behind her marriage to Steve Brady (David Eigenberg) and her busy professional life to travel to California with non-binary comedian Ché Diaz (Sara Ramirez) at the end of season 1.
Ahead of the June 22 premiere of season 2, both Nixon and Ramirez opened up to Et about Miranda and Ché’s journey, including Nixon’s willingness to strip down for some of their steamy scenes.
“I feel like I was always fairly game for it,” Nixon tells Et’s Nischelle Turner of showing skin. “It’s just one of the main subjects of the show is sex — people having sex and people having great sex and people having terrible sex and people having hilarious sex.

And Just Like That is staging the mother of all comebacks with its upcoming second season.

While we know Cattrall didn't film with any of her co-stars, Jessica Parker did have some intel to share.

Sex and the City wasn’t big on stunts. The show, centered around a sex columnist and her friends looking for love in New York City, wasn’t exactly action-packed. Still, there were moments when things didn’t go as planned, and the actors did get a few scares, scraps, and bumps along the way. One season 3 episode resulted in what showrunner Michael Patrick King labeled a “near-death experience” for three of the show’s four stars.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s son, James Wilkie Broderick, is a little lost when it comes to watching his mom’s show, “And Just Like That”.
James and his famous father, Matthew Broderick, walked the red carpet at the 2023 Father of the Year Awards at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel on Thursday, and the 20-year-old college student admitted that he had a hard time watching the show — Max’s revival of HBO’s “Sex and the City” series.

“I tried to watch the new one and I liked it but then I felt weird, ’cause I haven’t watched the original,” James explained. “It felt a little weird to be watching the newer one having not watched it, even if it’s accessible.”

Aidan Shaw will return as Carrie Bradshaw’s love interest in And Just Like That… season 2, and fans have opinions. Some Sex and the City fans are thrilled to have Aidan back, while others think Carrie Bradshaw’s infamous ex needs to stay in the past. While Aidan might be Carrie’s most important ex, he’s far from the only interesting one. We’d like to see three other exes pop up in And Just Like That… season 2, but not necessarily in a romantic way.
Whatever became of Kurt Harrington, Carrie Bradshaw’s pilot ex?
Kurt Harrington was only ever seen in the pilot episode of Sex and the City. After Carrie decided to approach sex like a man, she used her ex as a bit of an experiment. Kurt was never heard from again and never spoken about. Despite only appearing briefly on the show, he was important to Carrie’s origin story.

Carrie Bradshaw is considered among the first real female anti-heroes in TV history. While Sex and the City fans still root for the famed sex columnist, she also gets a lot of hate. Carrie wasn’t perfect. She wasn’t always poised and often made mistakes and blunders. She could be selfish, chaotic, and completely unsure of herself. Sarah Jessica Parker once revealed that the crew opted to show how messy Carrie could be through her clumsiness. Did you ever notice that Carrie Bradshaw falls a lot?
Carrie and Stanford | Marcel Thomas/FilmMagic Sarah Jessica Parker said Carrie’s stumbles were true to her character
Just how many times did Carrie Bradshaw fall? It’s hard to say. She tripped in her apartment, fell into a pond, stumbled down Manhattan streets, and even fell on a fashion runway once. The iconic character even stumbles in the show’s iconic opening sequence.

Justin Theroux has no love for his former “Sex and the City” character, Jared.
In honour of the show’s 25th anniversary, Vanity Fair posed the question of “Who was the worst man on ‘Sex and the City’?” via Instagram. The comments rolled in fast and furious, with several celebrities offering their opinions in the comments. Hilariously, Theroux roasted himself by commenting “Jared,” a bit part he played in the show’s first season.
Fans may remember Jared as an up-and-coming author who has a brief interaction with Sarah Jessica Parker‘s Carrie Bradshaw. In his quick scene, Jared appears as a decidedly uncool friend of Stanford (Willie Garson) who is apparently named among New York Magazine‘s “30 Coolest People Under 30.” He brags about his book and urges Carrie to write about him in her column — and is never seen again.

Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big’s season 3 affair is among the most controversial Sex and the City storylines ever. While the storyline is controversial, most fans agree that the season 3 episodes featuring the couple’s affair and its eventual fallout are among the show’s best. The entire storyline almost didn’t happen. HBO was originally against the idea.

By now, most Sex and the City fans know that Aidan Shaw is set to return in the second season of And Just Like That…, the Max reboot of the famed franchise. The initial trailer for season 2 also revealed that things between Carrie Bradshaw and Aidan will get romantic again. The original trailer didn’t give away who initiated the first contact, though. The newest trailer for the series, set to release on June 22, gives that information away. Carrie is the one who sets out to learn more about Aidan’s current life.

Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) has moved on, judging by the new trailer for Max‘s And Just Like That Season 2, which takes place a year after Big’s (Chris Noth) sudden death. The teaser for the Sex and the City sequel showcases Carrie pressing forward in life, stating: “You don’t move on because you’re ready to. You move on because you’ve outgrown who you used to be.” We then see in her kitchen before adding, “Did you know stoves aren’t just for storage?” We also see that she’s dating around and reaching out to a former flame fans will be excited about. Toward the end of the trailer, Carrie sends Aidan Shaw (John Corbett) an email that, upon further investigation (stopping the video and zooming in) reads: “Hey Stranger… Remember me? If this is still your email, it’s me — Carrie. Was just thinking about you the other day…...

In the latest And Just Like That season two trailer, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) is the most relatable she’s ever been. It’s not the retail-therapy stress shopping that really resonates, or her stove being used more for storage than for cooking — it’s the way she immediately shut her laptop after shooting off a risky message to her ex.

Carrie Bradshaw is moving on in the return of And Just Like That.
The official trailer for season two of the hit HBO sequel series to Sex and the City picks up more than one year after Big’s (Chris Noth) sudden death and sees Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) focused on moving on. Not only has she realized how to use her kitchen (“Did you know stoves aren’t just for storage?” she asks), but she’s also dating and reaching out to the former flame that viewers have been waiting for.
Toward the end of the nearly two-minute first look (below), Carrie sends Aidan Shaw (John Corbett) an email. A closer look reveals the note reads: “Hey Stranger … Remember me? And Just Like That… season 2 is scheduled to premiere on June 22. Ahead of the reboot’s sophomore season premiere, Max released a trailer and promotional photos. The trailer didn’t bring any big surprises. Che Diaz and Miranda Hobbes are still together, Aidan Shaw will return to rekindle his romance with Carrie Bradshaw, and Charlotte York and Harry Goldenblatt are floating along in wedded bliss. The promotional photos suggest another romance could be budding. Brady Hobbes and Lily Goldenblatt look a bit cozier than they did during the show’s inaugural season.

Sex and the City was one of the most groundbreaking shows of its time. While much about the series hasn’t aged well, it remains a cult classic that amasses new fans with each passing day. While there were many wonderful Sex and the City episodes produced, there are a few that stand out. We’ve collected our favorite episode from each season for your consideration.
The cast of ‘Sex and the City’ | 1999 Paramount Pictures Season 1
Season 1 of Sex and the City focused heavily on Carrie Bradshaw’s sex column. That doesn’t mean the best episode heavily concentrated on Carrie, though. The absolute best episode of the inaugural season centered largely around Samantha Jones.
In episode 9, “The Turtle and the Hare,” the girls deal with the emotional fallout of attending a friend’s wedding. Feeling dejected, Samantha agrees to spend time with Bernie Turtletaub, a man with awful breath.

Patricia Field, the costume designer for Sex and the City, once revealed that it was difficult to get designers on board with the show during its first season. “And Just Like That” some more familiar faces are joining the cast of the “Sex and the City” reboot for season 2.

Carrie Bradshaw and Aidan Shaw appear to be back together again; at least, that’s what the sneak peek for And Just Like That… season 2 suggests. Fans of the original series and the Max reboot have some feelings about the former flames rekindling their love. Following the release of the season 2 trailer, some fans have questioned whether Carrie is Aidan’s version of Mr. Big. Plenty of evidence suggests the dynamic is similar to what fans saw between Carrie and Mr. Big in Sex and the City.
Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big had an unbalanced relationship dynamic
Carrie and Mr. Big may have ended up together, but the couple’s relationship was far from smooth. One could describe their relationship dynamic as unbalanced. For years, Carrie chased Mr. Big, hoping for a commitment. She compromised, conceded, and often allowed Mr. Big to treat her with disregard. He let her down repeatedly.

John Corbett is set to return as Aidan Shaw in And Just Like That… and based on set photos, love will bloom once again between Aidan and Carrie Bradshaw.
