Leave your preconceived notions about wrestling at the door. That’s what the cast of A24’s latest drama The Iron Claw emphasized today during the film’s post-premiere press conference in Dallas, TX.
“It’s like dance, gymnastics, combat sports… so many different things,” Jeremy Allen White, one of the film’s ensemble stars said to a packed ballroom of journalists at the glitzy Ritz Carlton Hotel downtown this morning.
The film centers on the famed (and ultimately tragic) story of the Von Erich brothers, who took their unique talents from their hometown of Denton, to the world wrestling stage, in time creating the notorious The Iron Claw move that wowed the sport in the ‘80s.
On why he felt it was the right story to bring to the big screen, writer/director/producer Sean Durkin said, “I’ve been a fan of [wrestling] since I was a kid, and...

Looks like “The Bear” breakout Jeremy Allen White isn’t going to don the superhero spandex anytime soon for Marvel Studios as the actor said in a recent interview: “I had a meeting for a kind of Marvel-y movie, and I had an attitude.”

White also expressed confusion about the recent trend of actors viewing superhero roles as the pinnacle of their careers.

Jeremy Allen White‘s on the prowl. Just over a week after sharing a Pda moment with his estranged wife, the actor has been spotted kissing and hugging an actress-model in Los Angeles.
TMZ obtained photos and video of the steamy moment. Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from Season 2 of FX’s The Bear.
In the Season 2 finale of FX’s The Bear, Jeremy Allen White’s Carmy gets locked in the walk-in fridge during friends and family night at his new restaurant.
He’d just issued a loaded apology to Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) for losing his temper, promising that he has things under control. But as the fridge door swooshes closed, they all realize that isn’t true.
It’s the last straw in a tumultuous evening, but somehow, the kitchen staff still makes magic. Maybe that’s because they were already learning how to survive without their executive chef, who had been a little absent as they tried to transform The Original Beef of Chicagoland into an upscale eatery in just 12 weeks. Whatever the reason, it doesn’t ease Carmy’s nerves. In fact, he promptly breaks down.

Season 2 of “The Bear” will premiere in early summer and will expand from eight to 10 episodes, FX announced Thursday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.
The first season of the breakout hit premiered in June 2022, so the Season 2 premiere timeframe isn’t surprising, but it also means that the sophomore installment will be around during Emmy voting for Season 1. Nominations voting runs from June 15-26 and winner voting will take place from Aug. 17-28. Recent shows that have deployed this release strategy were “Ted Lasso,” the two-time defending Best Comedy Series champ, and “Only Murders in the Building,” which earned 17 nominations and won three last year. Both aired their second seasons in the summer when their first seasons were Emmy eligible. (“Ted Lasso” also similarly expanded its second season from 10 to 12 episodes.)

Zac Efron is no stranger to the gym, that’s for sure. Going from skinny teenage heartthrob to ripped beach dude in 2017’s Baywatch, he’s not afraid to do the work. I mean, would you not also hit the weights if you were starring alongside Dwayne The Rock Johnson? Of course, you would! But Efron seems to have seriously stepped on the gas for his next role. He was playing Kevin Von Erich, one of three brothers from a family of American wrestlers who made a massive lasting impact on the world of wrestling. With A24 on board and Jeremy Allen

This article contains major spoilers for "Halloween Ends."
In the span of just one weekend, it became clear that the conversation around whether "Halloween Ends" is an abysmal finale or a bold subversion of lofty expectations has no intentions of slowing down anytime soon. The moment those blue credits showed up, it sent a signal that this was going to be something different than more Michael Myers rampage, and it largely works.
As the final film in director David Gordon Green's divisive trilogy, "Halloween Ends" could have gone the safest route possible, but instead decided to show a different side to The Shape's legacy through the people of Haddonfield, even more so than in "Halloween Kills." Michael's infection of evil spread throughout the town until it led to the death of a mentally ill man and countless more of their own dead. With "Ends," the brunt of Michael's silent...

If you’ve heard of actor Jeremy Allen White, it’s likely due to the actor’s 10-year run on the Showtime hit Shameless, a job the actor secured straight out of high school, but most recently, the actor had a lead role as the star on the FX on Hulu dramedy series The Bear, which just ended its first season earlier this year. Outside of notable Jeremy Allen White roles that some may immediately recognize, the actor has also had less notable roles that still helped cement his career. However, after watching Shameless, most may forever pinpoint the actor to the role

In the sixth season of 9-1-1, firefighter Evan “Buck” Buckley (Oliver Stark) is trying to find some peace. And so is Stark himself, apparently, by escaping into some good television. When TV Insider caught up with Stark to find out what’s in store for his character on the Fox first-responder series — he wants to be captain sooner rather than later, and he’s trying not to repeat his mistakes when it comes to his love life — we also had to pick the actor’s brain on what he’s binging from TV right now. It’s all a part of TV Insider’s new series, “What’s in Your Queue?” which lets small-screen stars fan out over their favorite shows old, new, and somewhere in-between. Like many of us at TV Insider, Stark is hooked on The Bear, House of the Dragon, and Our Flag Means Death. He...

New Slate Ventures has come on board as a production partner for Insignia Films’ “Free Money.” The announcement was made just ahead of the documentary feature’s world premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival.
Jordan Fudge, Jeremy Allen and Tess Cohen will join producer Amanda Pollak, and executive producers Stephen Ives, Bradwel Iro (Lbx Africa), Chris Buck (Retro Report) to back the film.
The film explores what happens when universal basic income (Ubi) comes to the Kenyan village of Kogutu. GiveDirectly, a non-profit organization, is sending free money for 12 years as part of an experiment. Filmmakers Lauren DeFilippo and Sam Soko juxtapose the story of these young economists, bankrolled by Silicon Valley and convinced that they have found an infallible algorithm to improve lives, with those of the villagers.
“’Free Money’ has been a labor of love five years in the making,” said Amanda Pollak, senior partner at Insignia Films.

The Orville‘s own Penny Johnson Jerald did tell TVLine that most every episode of Season 3 would give people something to talk about. And sure enough, in recent weeks alone the space adventure series has addressed the issues of suicide, abortion, and gender reassignment.
In fact, the June 23 episode’s exploration of abortion — including how the Krill aggressively seek to deter the practice (read recap) — aired the day before the Supreme Court reversed Roe v. Wade, ruling that the constitutional right to abortion no longer exists.

At the time The Flash was renewed for a ninth season, showrunner Eric Wallace had already penned what he assumed was going to be a series finale. So, before the finale actually began filming, what all wound up being changed?
Wallace confirmed the season-ending change-up in a finale post mortem with TVLine, echoing that which multiple actors had shared throughout the season — that The Flash had been expected to end after eight seasons. But once leading man Grant Gustin closed a deal to continue Barry Allen’s journey, The CW ordered a Season 9, and Wallace and his team had to get to work!

Candice Patton has shed light on the reason for her absence from four consecutive episodes of The Flash‘s recently wrapped Season 8 — all in the wake of showrunner Eric Wallace being asked by TVLine and other outlets about Iris’ untimely vanishing act.
On-screen, Season 8’s 14th episode (of 20) ended with Iris, who since Season 7 has suffered from “time sickness,” disappearing into the Still Force. Team Flash’s attempts to track down Iris came up empty, but she ultimately resurfaced in this season’s penultimate episode — though in the year 2049. By the end of the finale, Iris had returned to 2022… seemingly...
