Cinematographer Peter Donahue has worked on numerous films and television shows and hundreds of commercials with directors like Rupert Sanders, Derek Cianfrance, Stacy Wall, Phil Morrison, Matt Aselton, Jeff Preiss and famed documentary film director Errol Morris, his mentor in the film business.
Donahue's 2003 collaboration with Morris, The Fog of War, ultimately won an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature. His 2005 feature film June Bug, directed by Phil Morrison, was nominated for the grand jury prize at Sundance and secured actress Amy Adams her first Oscar nomination. June Bug also garnered an Independent Spirit Award. Additional features include 2008's Five Dollars a Day for Nigel Cole, which starred Christopher Walken, Sharon Stone and Amanda Peet, and Gigantic, which starred Paul Dano, Zooey Deschanel and Zach Galifianakis. Peter also shot the 2015 documentary Prophet's Prey, which documented Warren Jeff's rise to prophet of the fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints. His latest work includes season 6 of the 2022 Showtime drama Billions.
Donahue lives in New York with his wife and college-bound daughter.
