If you were paying close attention to the second and third episodes of “Only Murders in the Building” Season 3, you may have noticed a few Easter eggs paying homage to its high-profile murder victim Paul Rudd.
Production designer Patrick Howe spoke with TheWrap about the fun but challenging task of decorating Ben Glenroy’s (Rudd) lavish penthouse apartment at the Arconia, as well as his stalker’s apartment in Episode 2, with objects celebrating both Glenroy’s and Rudd’s storied career in Hollywood.
“99% of the credit goes to decorator Rich Murray… He really did come up with this long laundry list of Easter egg opportunities that were attributed to Paul’s career up to this point,” Howe said. “The directives we had from the script was that he was going to move into the penthouse apartment, it was going to be sublet from Amy Schumer which would be said in dialogue.

Paul Rudd has been a beloved actor for nearly three decades, with his breakthrough role coming in the 90s teen classic Clueless. His performance as Josh Lucas in the movie set him on course to appear in several comedy classics. However, if Rudd had his own way, he would’ve starred in the film as a different character. He was initially more interested in one of the other attendees of Bronson Alcott High School, but Rudd was talked out of auditioning for that role for reasons he couldn’t really argue with at the time.
Paul Rudd played a sensitive heartthrob in ‘Clueless’
At the beginning of Clueless, Josh and Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone) have next to nothing in common. He’s a slightly pretentious college student. She’s a class-obsessed popular girl who can talk her way out of nearly any high school problem she faces. They were also former step-siblings,...

Paul Rudd is recalling his time on Friends and reflecting on how he felt being on the hit sitcom thinking that he shouldn’t be there.
“It was really fun, and they were great! The whole thing was a bit surreal, I must say, to be a part of that, because I came on really at the end,” he said during an appearance on Heart radio.
The star of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania joined the sitcom on a recurring basis in Season 9 playing the role of Mike Hannigan, who eventually ends up marrying Lisa Kudrow’s Phoebe Buffay in Season 10.
Rudd also said, “I never knew that I was going to be in as many [episodes] as I was. But it also felt strange. I was in that last episode, and I just thought, ‘I shouldn’t be here. I’m getting a front-row seat to things I’m not supposed to see.

Knowing what you want in life is a gift at any age. But figuring it out early like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star Paul Rudd is definitely Tiffany’s or Peloton-level gifting. It’s like the universe handing you a stepladder for those hard-to-reach areas.
Rudd has certainly climbed that ladder, becoming one of the world’s biggest stars. But that’s not to say it has come easy. Looking back on his career thus far, the 53-year-old Marvel actor credits his success to a plan he made when he was 16.
Acting was never a passion for ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ star Paul Rudd
Born in New Jersey to British parents, Rudd spent his early years on the east coast before moving to Kansas City at 10 years old (he remains a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the city’s famous barbeque to this day).

While Paul Rudd's role as Phoebe's boyfriend, Mike Hannigan, in "Friends" may have secured him the status of the nation's favorite boyfriend, it was his role in Amy Heckerling's "Clueless" that earned Rudd the mantle of "heartthrob." Based on Jane Austen's "Emma," Rudd's role as the mild-mannered, smart and snarky Josh was designed as a counterpart to Mr. Knightley, who starts as a kind of cheeky antagonist to the titular Emma Woodhouse before discovering his true feelings. The film follows Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone), a popular Beverley Hills high-school student with a penchant for matchmaking. She makes it her mission to provide a new student a makeover ... and eventually discovers her feelings for her former stepbrother (played by Rudd).
The ageless actor has been charismatic since his first major motion picture role — Josh has an easy-going charm, he's ambitious and compassionate — not to mention the actor playing him is devastatingly good-looking.

Picture the scene: A camera pans over the charred remains of what was once a large section of dense rainforest in the Central American banana republic of Val Verde. Suddenly, the cloaked feet of a Predator come into view. The alien hunter plunges a barely visibly claw down into the ashen ground where flora and fauna once flourished. A second later, the severed arm of a Predator is pulled from the shattered earth. The semi-visible Predator makes a bee-line for his fallen comrade’s wrist-based computer.
A read-out appears on its screen, detailing everything that led to this point. The replay stops on the image of a human face: it’s a face audiences know all too well from a decade of action movies. Right here and right now though, they know him as Maj. Alan “Dutch” Schaefer. Without saying a word, the Predator knows this is its next target.

Gregory Itzin, a prolific character actor best known for playing the oily President Charles Logan on Fox’s 24, has died.
Itzin died Friday at the age of 74 due to complications during an emergency surgery, his rep confirms to The Hollywood Reporter.
“He was one of the most talented actors I had the honor to work with, but more than that he was an all around great guy,” 24 executive producer Jon Cassar wrote on Twitter. “He’ll be missed by his 24 family who had nothing but love & respect for him.”
Itzin earned two Emmy nominations, in 2006 and 2010, for playing Logan on the Fox thriller. At first a seemingly spineless vice president, the character grew to become one of the longest-running antagonists for counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland).
Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Wisconsin, Itzin studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.

While the Friends reunion was a delightful tribute to fans in every way, one cast member was noticeably missing from HBO Max's special: Paul Rudd's Mike Hannigan, or shall we say Crap Bag, who played Phoebe's boyfriend and later, husband, in the last two seasons of the show. Sadly, Rudd wasn't able to make it to the reunion due to the "incredibly difficult" timing of the filming, particularly during a pandemic, but that didn't stop fans from honoring him and his character.
At the end of reunion, as the cast and crew reflected on the show's extremely emotional last day of filming, shots of the set and surrounding crowd were weaved into the segment. That's when eagle-eyed fans noticed that in the crowd watching as the gang did their final bow was Rudd crouching over with his camcorder, looking like a proud dad. Apparently,...

Chris Evans and Paul Rudd stepped out of the Marvel universe and into the world of streaming television this year. On the Apple TV Plus limited series “Defending Jacob,” Evans inhabits the guilt and fear of a suburban district attorney who will stop at nothing to save his teenage son from what he believes to be a wrongful murder charge. And Rudd goes much bigger than Ant-Man in Netflix’s “Living With Yourself,” playing both a dour copywriter and his charming clone. They talked to each other over video chat for Variety’s Actors on Actors issue.
Paul Rudd: What was that like, playing a dad?
Chris Evans: Yeah, I don’t have a kid, but it was a really enjoyable role to play. I had a wonderful relationship with my father. If you have to find parallels in your own life to draw from, what a lovely avenue to...
