5 Projects By Abcl That Made Amitabh Bachchan Go Bankrupt (Picture Credit: IMDb)
Amitabh Bachchan currently has around 120 crore in his bank balance as his current savings, according to Jaya Bachchan’s recent affidavit. However, this made us recall the time when his bank balance and savings went to 0, and he went bankrupt. It all started in 1996 when the superstar started a company called Abcl.
Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited sought a loan of around 22 crore from Canara Bank to start his company. And against this huge loan, guess what was the guarantee? It was his very own abode, Prateeksha, that was priced at around 10+ crore in those days.
Abcl started functioning and planned huge projects. It was valued at 60 crore in 1996, according to a report in Business Insider, and Big B planned to take it to 1000 crore worth by the year 2000. While this projection was highly ambitious, so were his projects that were planned.

Calling Britain-based musician Bally Sagoo a 'joker', American Punjabi rapper Bohemia Sunday accused him of taking undue advantage of his popularity and making wrong statements in the media.Bohemia was visibly irritated with the recent statement of Bally in which he had claimed to bring the rapper into the limelight.'It is wrong to say that Bally Sagoo brought me to the limelight. I am here only because of my own talent and creativity. In fact Bally used me to gain audiences and to create hype during his own shows. He is telling a lie. He is not a musician or a lyricist, he has not even written a single line till date,' said Bohemia, while talking to reporters here Sunday.'But yes, he brought musicians from different countries to the forefront. Bally had money and he could do this. But I was only 16 when I left my home.

November 27th sees the release of master director Priyadarshan’s latest film, De Dana Dan, starring Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Katrina Kaif, and Paresh Rawal, and featuring music by Pritam. So I thought it would be a perfect moment to look back on the previous four Priyadarshan-directed films that have had Akshay Kumar as the star:
Hera Pheri (2000) Directed by Priyadarshan. Starring Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Tabu. Music by Anu Malik and Bally Sagoo.
Shyam (Sunil Shetty) comes to Mumbai in search of a job in the bank his late father used to work in. By chance, he runs into Raju (Akshay Kumar), a good-for-nothing dreamer who can’t hang on to a job. When Shyam finds his wallet missing, he assumes Raju to be the pick-pocket, and chases after him.
Shyam, in search of a place to stay, is taken in by the near-sighted, kind-hearted owner of the Star Garage,...
