If you ask Peso Pluma what he likes most about his compa Jasiel Nuñez, he’ll tell you it’s his pen. He’ll go off about the musician’s ability to express himself about love and life through complex metaphors and visual storytelling. It’s probably why he signed Nuñez to Double P Records.
“The way he writes and shares his feelings through the paper is very special. He has so many lyrics and anecdotes,” Peso says. “I listen to what he does every day and I know he...

I’m just a soul trapped in this circuitry.” The voice singing those lyrics is raw and plaintive, dipping into blue notes. A lone acoustic guitar chugs behind it, punctuating the vocal phrases with tasteful runs. But there’s no human behind the voice, no hands on that guitar. There is, in fact, no guitar. In the space of 15 seconds, this credible, even moving, blues song was generated by the latest AI model from a startup named Suno. All it took to summon it from the void was a simple...

In the opening scene of Apples Never Fall, Joy Delaney (Annette Bening) takes a leisurely bike ride through West Palm Beach, Florida. She’s got the time, having recently retired after decades of coaching tennis alongside her husband, Stan (Sam Neill). Joy cycles by palm trees and mansions and stops to browse stands of impossibly perfect fruit. But as she passes tennis courts bustling with players, her mouth curves into a wistful frown.
A sense of melancholy nags at the superficial idyll of Joy’s excursion, only to burst into outright dread when we see her bike overturned in the street, its back wheel still spinning and its frame splattered with blood, and Joy nowhere to be found. This scene introduces an alluring air of mystery regarding Joy’s inner life and the nature of her seemingly utopian environment. Unfortunately, that intrigue proves incredibly short-lived—a victim of Apples Never Fall’s plodding pace,...

Two young people meet cute, share their dreams with each other over the course of a long drunken night, find they have a lot in common, separate for a while, and find each other again to achieve those dreams.
He’s Rolando; she’s Nera. Unusually for a story like this, there’s no romance or hint of it – no reason not to, it just doesn’t happen. They connect in other ways, the way any two people do.
This is Edgar Camacho’s graphic novel Onion Skin . Other stuff happens, too – and he doesn’t tell the story in order to begin with – but I’ll get to that. There’s only one copyright date in the book, 2021, so maybe it was translated quickly (by Camacho himself) for US publication after it originally appeared in Mexico? Or maybe the date of US publication just isn’t listed, and it...

Ryan Michelle Bathé has been cast as the wife of Terry Crew’s cop character in CBS’ comedy pilot based on the “JumpStart” comic strip, a rep for the actress told TheWrap on Wednesday.
Her character, Marcy, is described as “a hard-working nurse who is naturally maternal and wise beyond her years. The two have a good life in their middle-class Philly neighborhood with their two teen kids — meeting all challenges, and enjoying their share of goofy times as well.”
The logline for the show: “Joe and Marcy are young, hip, urban parents with old school values who are willing to sacrifice for their kids and have some laughs while doing it!”

In 2006, Terry Crews offered a glimpse of the future when he donned the star-spangled boots and leotard of President Camacho for Mike Judge’s Idiocracy. A simple comedy in its heyday, the film was about a schlub from the 2000s traveling to a distant future where Americans had elected a pro wrestler turned reality star as commander-in-chief. It was a future dominated by Crews’ well-coiffed Camacho.
Barely a decade later, the same joke seems downright prophetic, a preview of the troubled and turbulent times that were to come after a reality star really became president. The times have been so troubled, in fact, that a kind of miracle occurred at SXSW during this past weekend: President Camacho returned to us, and he’s come to save America from itself!
Once again sporting the legendary attire he wore in Idiocracy, Crews’ President Camacho arrived at the film, music, and tech festival with a simple,...

The House of Representin’ was reopened at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas, as Terry Crews resurrected one of his most famous roles, President Camacho from the cult comedy “Idiocracy,” to announce a party for a fake presidential campaign in 2024.
Back in 2006, Crews appeared in Mike Judge’s comedy about Joe Bauers, an Army corporal deemed the “most average person in the military,” whom along with a sex worker named Rita are selected for a military cryogenic experiment.
When the experiment is forgotten about, the two wake up in the year 2534, where the human race has dumbed itself down to the point that society has collapsed into a barely functioning dystopia on the verge of collapse. With the average Joe now the smartest man on the planet, President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho hires him to his cabinet to solve a drought that is killing America’s food supply.

Say what you want about Marvin, and there's plenty to say, but it feels like he's trying to turn over a new leaf.
Anger management classes may have been court-ordered, but we've seen him take some of the teachings and apply them to his own life, which is a big step for him. And we've also seen him try, albeit sparingly, to make amends with Jukebox.
Giving his daughter some space has been the right move for Marvin, and as you'll see in this exclusive clip from Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 2 Episode 4, he's very aware of his failures as a father and the destruction he's left in the wake of his actions.
One of the best qualities of Raising Kanan and all the Power Universe series is how multi-faceted the characters are. And Marvin may have started the series as the slightly inept comic relief, but he's shown...
