Last year the Animorphs triumphantly returned in a new graphic novel series that pleased not only hardcore fans but kept extremely true to the original books, right down to using much of the same dialogue. This has brought new visual life to the well beloved franchise and hasn’t sanitized the sometimes-bleak series; it still contained all the hard choices, deep conflict, and snapping bones while morphing that made the series such a fan favorite to this very day.
Now Scholastic is gearing up for the release of the second Animorphs graphic novel (adapting The Vistor book) and we’ve got an exclusive first look at not only the cover but four interior pages as well! First up is the cover.
Right off the bat we’ve got the famous cat morph from the original novel’s cover adapted to the top banner of this graphic novel. Next up are...

An entire generation of readers grew up tracking the war between the Yeerks and the Animorphs as part of K.A. Applegate’s Animorphs series of books, which ran from 1996 through 2001. (And, as a television series, from 1998 to 1999.) Now, a whole new generation of readers is about to become part of the conflict, as Scholastic’s Graphix imprint launches a new series of Animorphs graphic novels.

After programming like “Hamilton” and “The Mandalorian” has put the plus in Disney+, “The One and Only Ivan” arrives on Aug. 21 to bring the Disney.
Complete with talking animals, cute kids and, yes, missing parents, the movie set in Dumbo’s old stomping grounds (a circus) feels familiar and a bit old-fashioned, though it does find a different kind of tone as it goes along, evolving from cuteness to melancholy in a way that can take you by surprise.
But would it be a spoiler to say that melancholy is only a detour on the way to heart-warming? Probably not – even in a fantasy directed by a British theater director, Thea Sharrock, and based on K.A. Applegate’s Newbery Medal-winning novel based on a true story, Disney will be Disney. In this case, that means some gentle whimsy, a mostly-artful blend of live-action human characters and CG animal creations, a...

Angelina Jolie and several of her six children she shares with ex-hubby Brad Pitt attended the recent live reunion show that capped off the CBS show’s 37th season, “David vs. Goliath,” in Los Angeles on Dec. 19. Her presence at the event was originally reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
A source told People magazine, “They had a great time. The kids really enjoyed it.”
Turns out she has ties to one of the players who made the final three, writer, producer and actor Mike White (“School of Rock”). He was part of the Goliath tribe and previously appeared on another reality contest, “The Amazing Race.” White came in second on “Survivor” while David member Nick Wilson, a public defender from Kentucky, was voted the winner.
People magazine reported that Jolie invited White and a small group of friends for an informal gathering at her home after the reunion show was taped.

Film adaptations of young adult book genres have become increasingly profitable over the years. From Harry Potter to the more recent Hunger Games franchise, the genre has proven time and time again to be a solid cash cow. Despite this, one iconic '90s book series has yet to make it to the silver screen . until now. According to The Tracking Board, Universal has plans to adapt the popular Scholastic Animorphs series, written by K.A. Applegate, into a movie. Animorphs chronicles the adventures of five teenagers caught in the war between two alien species: the Andalite and the Yeerks . parasitic, slug-like life forms who control humans by entering their ear canal. When they stumble upon the ship of a dying Andalite warrior, he grants them the ability to morph into any animal they come into contact with, and recruits them into the battle. While many recent young adult series ...

Anyone remember the show Animorphs from the 90s? I remember the cult of the Animorphs. I was never a fan of that. I would go to the store and pick up the latest Goosebumps book, and sort of throw shade to the series. The covers always looked ridiculous to me. To be fair, I.ve never read one so perhaps they aren.t as dumb as I imagined. I did watch the series on the regular either. I.ve got bits and pieces but still wasn.t impressed. Later down the road, Animorphs co-creator K.A. Applegate...

Walt Disney Pictures has early plans to bring to the screen K.A. Applegate and Patricia Castelao's recent children's book, The One and Only Ivan . The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the Newberry Medal-winning novel will be developed for the big screen with Allison Shearmur among the producers. Written by Applegate and illustrated by Castelao, The One and Only Ivan was published in 2011 and is officially described as follows: Ivan is an easygoing gorilla. Living at the Exit 8 Big Top Mall and Video Arcade, he has grown accustomed to humans watching him through the glass walls of his domain. He rarely misses his life in the jungle. In fact, he hardly ever thinks about it at all. Instead, Ivan thinks about TV shows he's seen and about his friends Stella, an elderly...

Don't think badly of me when I say that I first thought Dark Skies was going to be a cheap X-Files knockoff. After all, it is a genre show about aliens that premiered right in the middle of the X-Files' run. Look at it this way: it looked like a FlashForward to the X-Files' Lost. And to some extent, that's what it is. After all, it only lasted a season, featured a more initially focused concept, and gained a very devout cult following that tried its best to save the show. Sounds familiar, right?
Nineties children like myself will probably remember a book series called Animorphs by K.A. Applegate. I only drop that reference because it's perhaps the best comparison to the plot of Dark Skies. If you drop the animal-transformation gimmicks, you've got an extremely dark story of a covert alien invasion carried out by parasites who enter your head and take over.
