Blake Shelton stays busy with his music career, a bit of acting and a lot of career coaching on “The Voice.” He’s been on the series since the beginning, and his picks have won nine times and counting over the show’s 22 seasons. But despite his busy schedule, he returns to his Oklahoma roots time and time again for relaxation and philanthropy.
Though Shelton moved to Nashville after high school, he remains connected his home state with a 1,300 acre ranch near the town of Tishomingo. As an avid outdoorsman, it stands to reason that he’d support nonprofits with the same values.

A little boy once said “I see dead people”. In The Voices we have a little girl who can hear dead people. For better or for worse, this film is very much in the M. Night vein.
The Voices kicks off with two ladies restrained in a Saw-esque torture-basement before moving back in time to a little girl, seemingly receiving therapy from a young lady wearing sunglasses (while indoors). I am not a therapist, but I would imagine hiding your eyes from your patient is probably the last thing you would want to do. Having said all that, it turns out our therapist is blind, so that told me. We then have a rather confusing flashback after a flashback.

When David Ball’s single “Thinkin’ Problem” hit country radio in the spring of 1994, it played alongside tunes by neo-traditionalists Tracy Lawrence, Mark Chesnutt, and Alan Jackson. Yet even then it seemed like an anomaly.

“I think I oughta say something about that song now,” Don Williams would tell concertgoers between the tunes he’d play while seated on a stool, guitar in hand. “I’ll think of something and say it later.” The joke being that country’s “Gentle Giant” would rarely get around to saying much, preferring instead to let the lyrics, and his warm, blanketing baritone do the talking, with his onstage motion mostly limited to moving effortlessly from one familiar hit to the next.
