More than 100 DGA members and industry decision-makers attended a Directors Guild’s summit Saturday that examined the underrepresentation of Latinos in the film and TV industry, and ways to increase their numbers. Latinos and Hispanics make up 18.5% of the U.S. population, but far less than half that percentage directed episodes of dramatic TV shows last season.

DC Comics has announced a Christmas special that will feature a host of comic creators and characters. DC Holiday Special #1 was unveiled on DC's official blog The Source. ABC this month is debuting its Micro-Mini Series, four short films set to air during the network's Monday night comedy block. The three-minute interstitials, slated for June 28 and July 12 and 19, come from participants in the network's diversity-oriented talent development programs for actors, directors and writers. The Micro-Minis, which also will be featured on ABC.com, are: Not Now, Kitty, about a cat who becomes a woman, written by Mitch Watson and directed by Carl Weathers. I Didn't Really Wet My Pants, about a blind date gone horribly wrong, written by Daniel Hsia and directed by Susan Tuan.
