CBS News has never had a great history of black reporters at the network. There was Russ Mitchell, but he's gone; and both Harold Dow and Ed Bradley are dead. And now their most high profile black reporter, Byron Pitts, is about to jump ship. It was quietly announced last Friday that Pitts, who is a CBS national correspondent and a regular on 60 Minutes, will be joining ABC News as both chief national correspondent and as a news anchor. His hiring goes along with the recent hiring of black N.Y. Times reporter Susan Saulny as an ABC national reporter The recent hires are all part of a major move by ABC News head Ben Sherwood to "court political reporters from the N.Y....

Two years after the death of Michael Jackson, the court is yet to find the end of Conrad Murray trial. The latest word on the ongoing case is; the King of Pop's personal physician will refuse to accept any plea bargain from the Los Angeles Country District Attorney because he's adamant that he's innocent.
Murray believes strongly on his innocence that even a plea offering zero jail time would be out of the question on principle. However, sources said that the D.A. Will no offer a no plea bargain anyway because they believe they can win the case.
Murray and his lawyers team would still play the defensive card. They insisted that Michael had administered the fatal dose of Propofol himself in desperate attempt to get some sleep while the doc left for the bathroom.

After nearly five years as the anchor for the CBS Evening News, Katie Couric officially announced today that she would be departing the program. Couric will reportedly be pursuing other projects, one of which may include a daytime talk show that she would co-host with her former Today Show cohort/Thanksgiving Day parade commentator Matt Lauer.
While we can’t wait to see what Couric does next (hey, if Gwyneth Paltrow can keep returning to Glee, she can, too!) we’re equally curious about who will take over her post on the Evening News. The rumored front-runners for the job...

CBS’ high-profile — and very expensive — attempt to juice up its Evening News telecast is expected to come to an official end this week. A well-placed source told EW that Katie Couric, 54, will confirm that she’s decided to leave the telecast to pursue other opportunities. Her contract officially ends in June.
Couric is expected to focus on developing a daytime talk show that may or may not involve Today’s Matt Lauer. Both the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal reported earlier this month that there have been discussions to reunite her with her former co-worker and friend.

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Ahn Entertainment) - After months of rumors, Katie Couric is set to officially announce her departure from the CBS Evening News this week.
According to the New York Times, Couric is officially leaving her post after five years as anchor and she'll be making the announcement this week, most likely following her coverage of the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday.
The network plans to announce her successor the following week, which is reportedly set to be "60 Minutes" correspondent Scott Pelley, although CBS's Harry Smith and Russ Mitchell have also been mentioned.
Couric's contract with CBS officially ends on June 4 and the network will spend the next month working on the transition to the new lead anchor.

With Katie Couric reportedly eyeing the exit, the third-place CBS Evening News seems prepared to move in a different direction. The New York Times reports that 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley is in line to take over the anchor’s seat should Couric depart when her contract expires this summer. Though CBS reiterated that they’re still negotiating with Couric and declined to comment on the speculation, CBS’s Harry Smith and Russ Mitchell, and CNN’s Anderson Cooper have been mentioned along with Pelley as her possible successors.

What's a sure-fire TV winner? Having a baby. Remember when Lucy had Little Ricky on I Love Lucy? Even the reruns that have been running for 50 years are still favorites. So, with that in mind, don't you think America will be overjoyed that Maggie Rodriguez on The Early Show is having a baby?
I do. I expect there to be a spike in the Nielsens as people tune in each morning to watch Maggie's tummy grow and check out her maternity fashions. On today's broadcast of CBS's morning show, Maggie broke the news to co-host Harry Smith, weather forecaster Dave Price and newsman Russ Mitchell. She told them they would all soon be uncles!

I honestly cannot say enough good things about CBS' The Good Wife. It really should just be considered another lawyer show, but the interesting characters and fabulous actors distinguish it and make it rise above other like shows.
We've posted photos and a synopsis for this week's episode, but now CBS has released the same for the November 17th new episode as well.
