There's also an explicit reference to Marvel's roster of blockbuster heroes -- a reminder that "Daredevil" is part of a much bigger universe. And a whole, whole lot of violence and action. "Daredevil" premieres April 10 on Netflix. (Yep, all at once.) Read More: Netflix Casts the New 'Daredevil' for 13-Episode Marvel Series ...

IGN has the exclusive first look at the trailer for Netflix’s original series Daredevil, a dark and gritty reimagining of the Marvel comic book adaptation that first hit the big screen with the campy, much maligned version in 2003 starring Ben Affleck. Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire) now takes on the role, losing the signature red suit with horns and going full black in a way that still pays homage to the comics.
Daredevil is Netflix’s first foray into the absolute blockbuster that is the superhero genre. Could this series finally put a big dent in Hollywood’s pocketbook? We’ll find out on April 10, when all 13 episodes of the series become available for streaming. Daredevil also stars Rosario Dawson, Deborah Ann Wolf, and Vincent D’Onofrio. Watch the trailer below:

In another move that shows how much inspiration the upcoming Daredevil Netflix series will draw from Frank Miller’s run in the comics, Marvel has cast Scott Glenn (The Hunt for Red October, Silence of the Lambs) as Stick, the mysterious martial artist famous for training both Elektra and the titular Man Without Fear.
Stick was created by Miller in 1981, where he’s depicted as a blind master martial artist who not only teaches a young Matt Murdock how to fight, but how to control his senses and develop his “radar sense.” Stick is also revealed to be the leader of a warrior order called The Chaste that regularly fought with a mercenary group known as The Hand.
Stick was last played by Terence Stamp in the terrible 2005 film Elektra from 20th Century Fox. The studio heads at Marvel must have erased that casting from their minds, however, as the...

The Master (or at least, that’s the working title) is the upcoming Paul Thomas Anderson’s drama based on the history of Scientology, that we already wrote about.
Today we’re here to share a little update about this project, since both writer and director Anderson revealed that the project is on course to begin shooting in August!
The Master is the story of “..a charismatic intellectual (Philip Seymour Hoffman) who hatches a faith-based organization that begins to catch on in America in 1952 called The Cause.
The core dynamic centers on the relationship between The Master and Freddie Sutton, an aimless twenty-something drifter and alcoholic who eventually becomes the leader’s loyal lieutenant. As the faith begins to gain a fervent following, Freddie finds himself questioning the belief system he has embraced, and his mentor.”
At this moment we know that The Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner has been cast as Freddie,...
