In our critics survey of the best movies at the Cannes Film Festival each year, it’s common to have the critics IndieWire’s polled disagree with the awards given by the festival jury itself. That is not the case for Cannes 2024. The best movies of the festival, picked by 55 critics, representing five continents, were topped by Sean Baker’s “Anora” in our poll, which, of course also won the Palme d’Or.
Last year, Jonathan Glazer’s “The Zone of Interest” topped our poll, differing from the Palme d’Or result, which went to Justine Triet’s “Anatomy of a Fall.” It must be said that voter enthusiasm in our poll for “The Zone of Interest” was even that much stronger: It received nearly half of all votes for best film. “Anora,” which stars Mikey Madison, received about a quarter of the overall votes for best film this time...

After an intoxicating and almost flawless first effort, Interview with the Vampire returns with a few new items to start the latest season.
Louis and Claudia, having left New Orleans and Lestat behind, are now traversing around Europe during Interview with the Vampire Season 2 Episode 1 to find others like them.
It's a treacherous journey that sees them travel in silence for many years, frustrated, cold, and subsisting off "bad" blood, but eventually lands them in a place that will undoubtedly shape their vampire lives.
Before we dive into the happenings of the first hour, this is the part where I remind all of you loyal readers that I never read the source material, so I may not know where things might go or specific backstories if they aren't explained on-screen.
As I said before Interview with the Vampire Season 1, reviewing the series without prior knowledge could be a good or bad thing,...

AMC masterfully transposes Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire from unique literary expression to a cinematic episodic television experience. As series creator and executive producer Rolin Jones told an enthusiastic crowd at an advance screening at the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan, these are two different art forms, with their own artistic needs and devotees. Changes are necessary for the proper telling, and the contemporary audience at large.
Claudia is five years old in the 1976 book. Her age is the very heart of the story because Anne Rice wrote the novel while mourning the death of her daughter, Michele. Modern sensitivities resist the tortured distinction, and the network provides respectful distance. The series’ acting part is even updated, with Delainey Hayles taking the young vampire role originally portrayed by Bailey Bass. There are several alterations in the adaptation...

Following its critically acclaimed first season, AMC’s “Interview with the Vampire” is back for round two, and the Gothic drama based on Anne Rice’s beloved novels remains one of TV’s best and brightest despite the inherent darkness within.
The new season (premiering Sunday at 9/8c on AMC and AMC+) picks up in the aftermath of the jaw-dropping reveal that closed out the show’s freshman outing: Louis’ (Jacob Anderson) loyal assistant Rashid is actually his vampire lover, Armand (Assad Zaman). Once again the show makes excellent use of its unique interview framing to jump between multiple timelines as Louis weaves a complicated tale for journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian), one that explores his relationships with both Armand and Claudia, beginning with their adventures in Paris in the 1940s.

Plot: As Louis and Claudia escape to Paris after killing Lestat, and are ready to embark on new relationships in the new city. But they find themselves in a world influenced by Lestat, especially when they join the Theatre de Vampires, a performing group found by Lestat.
Review: Timed perfectly to Halloween, the 2022 debut of Interview with the Vampire beautifully updated the first volume in Anne Rice’s vast series for a new generation. With a young cast and a more overt take on the homoerotic elements of the novels, AMC’s series was designed to kickstart a cinematic universe of adaptations from the author’s works. While Mayfair Witches did not work as well, the second season of Interview with the Vampire is a welcome return to the stories of Louis, Claudia, Lestat, and more. Billed as “Part II,” the second season chronicles the back half of Rice’s novel.

After a brief halt in production, AMC was able to secure “significant agreements” with the SAG-AFTRA actors union that allowed them to continue filming Interview with the Vampire season 2 during the SAG strike last year, keeping the show on track for its 2024 premiere. The Sunday, May 12th premiere date is now swiftly approaching – and even though we just saw a trailer for the show a couple weeks ago, a new trailer for Interview with the Vampire season 2 has now been unveiled. Interview with the Vampire Season 2: Cast, plot, premiere date, and everything else there is to know
The timeless love story at the heart of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire won many fans in 2022, but with increased delays for the second season, a lot has changed during the extended hiatus.
It’s rare for a vampire drama to offer more than it borrows from the genre, but the show managed to break through armed with many of Anne Rice’s unique storylines from the novel series.
At the time of its launch, AMC was losing The Walking Dead as the long-running zombie drama signed off after 11 seasons, so new franchises were in demand by the cabler.
Interview with the Vampire broke through with critical acclaim. The show garnered plenty of praise and solid ratings, resulting in a very early renewal for Season 2.
Now that new episodes are approaching, we must review everything we know about the upcoming season.
Get all the details below.
When will Interview with the Vampire Season 2 premiere?...

The latest Interview with the Vampire season 2 trailers feature Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, tyrannically dictating the story of his undeath to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). The ancient vampire won’t lighten the historical weight buried in cryptic footnotes covered in blood. The contemporary talks are set in Prague, but recent clips extend grand theatrical overtures.
Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire season 2 will open with a new Parisian location, and fresh blood. AMC’s playbill says the part of Claudia has been recast with Delainey Hayles. Roxane Duran joins as the dollmaker Madeleine, a tragic figure with worse pains to suffer. The latest trailer also features a new, albeit secondary, antagonist, Santiago (Ben Daniels). An extraordinary piece of work which has drifted around the edges of the festival circuit this year getting more praise than opportunity, perhaps because it feels too dark and too overwhelming even to fit into most horror programming, Saturn Bowling is a serial killer story with a distinctly female gaze, and it’s devastating. With an immersive quality which recalls the early work of Michael Mann, it keys in to the ordinariness of certain kinds of horror and the ease with which they can take root in a society in which many men teeter on the edge of a moral abyss.
Overshadowed by the presence of a tyrannical father who has recently died, the film follows his two sons as they engage with what he has left behind. It opens with the younger one, Armand (Achille Reggiani), walking down the street at night eating a burger as he is approached and then.

In some ways, UK audiences were unlucky – we’ve had to wait a long time to finally see the TV adaptation of :a[Interview With The Vampire]{href='https://www.empireonline.com/tv/reviews/interview-with-the-vampire-season-1/' target='_blank' rel='noreferrer noopener'}, the massively acclaimed new series adaptation of Anne Rice’s celebrated blood-sucking Vampire Chronicles. American audiences have been raving about it for a year now – but Season 1 has finally, in recent days, made its way to BBC iPlayer (and BBC Two). But while it’s meant a long wait for the first run of episodes, it does mean the wait for Season 2 should be much shorter – the next season is due to air in 2024, meaning hopefully we get it fairly swiftly. And for anyone who’s binged the whole season already, here’s a first clip from what’s next.

Throughout The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’s Season 1, we’ve seen Norman Reedus’ embattled protagonist fight both for and with Clémence Poésy’s Sister Isabelle. But is their biggest battle keeping their burgeoning feelings at bay? Do they even realize that they have feelings for one another?
“That’s a good question,” showrunner David Zabel tells TVLine with a laugh. “A deep connection has clearly formed between them over the course of the five episodes we’ve seen so far, and it continues to deepen in episode six” — aka Sunday’s finale (premiering on AMC at 9/8c).

AMC unveiled the first scene from the much-anticipated upcoming second season of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire during their New York Comic Con panel and then – fortunately – made it available online. The nearly four-minute scene shows Santiago (Ben Daniels) guiding a group that includes Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) and Claudia (now played by Delainey Hayles) to a mansion. After using his particular set of skills to determine the layout and the number of humans inside, Santiago and most of the group enter to feast on the unsuspecting occupants.
However, Louis (Jacob Anderson) and Armand (Assad Zaman) remain outside, flirting and getting to know each other.
Not shown but also returning for season two are Sam Reid as Lestat and Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy
Season one premiered on October 2, 2022 and wrapped up on November 6, 2022. Season two is currently shooting in Prague and is targeting a 2024 premiere.

A second season of “Interview with the Vampire” is on the way, and AMC teased the upcoming second season with a sneak peek clip at Nycc that’ll whet your appetite for the vampiric story ahead.
The clip below teases the Théâtre des Vampires and the vampire coven of Armand (Assad Zaman), just as it’s time to devour dinner. The sneak peek also gives us a closer look at Delainey Hayles as Claudia, taking over for Bailey Bass after she exited last season.
Fans of Anne Rice’s novel will know not to expect smooth sailing for Louis and Claudia when they encounter the Théâtre des Vampires. That’s especially the case with Ben Daniels‘ Santiago, the leading vamp thespian of the Théâtre des Vampires who grows increasingly suspicious of the American vampires Louis and Claudia.
The series, which debuted last year, is a “modern, unforgettable retelling of Anne Rice’s best-selling novel.

Much like the vampires in the video above, Interview With the Vampire fans are being fed today. AMC debuted a thrilling Interview With the Vampire Season 2 scene at New York Comic Con for hungry fans that introduces Ben Daniels as Santiago, gives a new glimpse at Delainey Hayles as Claudia (whose blood lust is as strong as ever), and in what’s sure to excite fans the most, shows Jacob Anderson‘s Louis de Pointe du Lac flirting with the vampire Armand (Assad Zaman), who more than reciprocates his flirtations. Rashid’s true identity as the vampire Armand (and “the love of” Louis’s life) was revealed in the final moments of Interview With the Vampire Season 1 (in Dubai in 2022). The Season 2 snippet shows the early days of their courtship decades before, set in front of a vampire feeding frenzy taking place inside a luxurious mansion. Louis and Claudia are...

Directed by Mehnaz Huda, the Showtime original Heist 88 is a fictional recreation of the 1988 bank robbery in Chicago, which gained notoriety in the history of bank robberies. Played by Courtney B. Vance, Jeremy Horne is a fictional representation of Armand Devon Moore, who was a criminal mastermind behind the 1988 bank robbery. The filmmaker took some creative liberties to add some dramatic elements to the story and the actual event was very different from what was depicted in the film.
Spoilers Ahead
What Happens In The Film?
Heist 88 follows Jeremy Horne, a convicted felon serving his probationary period. He arrived in the city of Chicago with a plan for a bigger crime. With a tracking monitor attached to his ankle, he was not entirely free from the authorities’ surveillance, but even though he was constantly reminded by the police to surrender himself within 21 days, he wasn’t the least bit bothered about it.
