Jackie Vautour was born in 1928 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. He was married to Yvonne. He died on 7 February 2021 in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, New Brunswick, Canada.
The governments of New Brunswick and Canada decided in to create a national park in Kouchibouguac in 1969. People living there were expropriated and Jackie Vautour became one of the leaders of the movement against expropriation. After the establishment of the park, he succeeded in living there with his wife in a mobile home and continued to fight for his rights.
