Born and raised in Houston, TX, Jewel Hamrick IV is a film and TV writer, producer, and director. He wrote his first screenplay at the age of 16. The script became his first film, BASH: The Movie, released in January 2016. The project solidified his admission to the Savannah College of Art Design (SCAD), where he learned to excel in his craft and talent as a writer, producer, director, and overall artist/designer. In November 2019, He launched his production company, IV Vision, with the release of his fifth film, Exposure. The film screened to select audiences on a 3-city tour (ATL, HTX, and SAV) during the COVID-19 pandemic. In March 2021, Jewel returned to SCAD for his MFA in Film and Television, focusing on TV development and production. He secured an internship as a Programming and Production Intern at TVOne, working under producer Austyn Biggers. Jewel has rebased to Los Angeles since completing his graduate courses in November 2022. He seeks to continue to grow more in TV development and programming to bring life to underrepresented stories and voices in the Black and LGBTQ+ communities.
