Lupin part 3, episode 7, picks up where episode 6 left off. We saw Claire inside her closet, trying to hide herself and her son from Keller. She came up with the idea of sending a voice message to the house telephone, addressing her son, whom she thought might be home. She also said that she would be late as she’d been held up at the hospital, but an uncle would soon come home to check on him. Keller understood that nobody was home, so he took off. Assane brought Mariama to his hideout, where he asked his mother why she hadn’t come to meet them earlier. Mariama explained her tragic story to her son, saying that she had worked as a laborer in Senegal and wanted to earn enough money to travel back to Paris, but her employer was a thief who didn’t pay her the money she deserved.

Lupin Part 3 Episode 4 opened with Assane sneaking into the kidnapper’s covert location, but one of the associates of the kidnapper spotted him. She was confronted by Assane, who demanded to get his mother back. She called her boss, who let Mariama talk to her son. Assane had to withdraw from his mission after realizing that Mariama’s life was in danger. Moreover, he had to comply with the demands the kidnapper asked him to fulfill.
Assane went back to Benjamin’s antique shop and told him everything. He also told him about the plan for his next heist. The kidnapper had asked him to steal an expensive bracelet owned by Tara Xang, wife of real estate mogul Max Mollar.

Lupin Part 3 episode 3 opened with a guy sneaking into a gangster’s property and stealing his car. In the meantime, the gangster, named Cisco, was playing cards with his friend, whose winning streak irritated him. He pulled out a pack of cards and asked the guy to draw a card, saying that he had to draw an ace; otherwise, he’d be a dead man. This was Cisco’s way of judging people to see if they could be trusted or not. If not, he would simply pull the trigger and kill them. Unfortunately, his friend didn’t draw an ace and was shot to death by Cisco. However, some of Cisco’s men spotted their car being stolen and chased it, but the thief managed to evade their capture and hand the car over to Assane.

Benito Zambrano’s “Jumping the Fence” joins Roya Sadat’s “Sima’s Song,” and Pau Calpe’s “Werewolf” in the lineup of Spanish Screenings Goes to Cannes, a selection of five pix in post which underscores the ever broadening compass – in genre, setting, protagonists, production bases and models – of film production in Spain.
“Sima’s Song,” for example, is set in 1979 Kabul, “Jumping the Fence” on the Morocco-Spain border in Africa.
Many titles, though still in post production, come laden with prizes as projects, prestige deals or rich talent. “Sima’s Song,” from Afghan director Roya Sadat, whose “A Letter to the President” was shortlisted for an Oscar, won the Taicca Award at Busan’s Asian Project Market and the Ifi-Pas Award at Mumbai’s Film Bazaar. Its producer, Alba Sotorra, was nominated for an International Emmy as a director for “The Return: Life After Isis.”
