Exclusive: Paula Abdul is among an ensemble cast for a feature-length podcast from Steven Jay Rubin (Bleacher Bums), Billy Riback (Home Improvement) and stand-up comic Bruce Smirnoff.
The American Idol star is starring in Spacemen From Planet Judy alongside Phil Hendrie (Rick and Morty), Hal Rudnick (Reno 911), John Mariano (The Offer) and Eric Waddell (Funny You Should Ask).
It begins when all of Earth’s gay males, and two straight men dressed in drag because there was a mix-up in their Halloween costumes, are abducted to the distant planet Judy (named after Judy Garland), the gay haven world of the universe, where they will live in freedom without oppression.
Inadvertently kidnapped, bumbling information technology specialists Mitch (Hendrie) and Lenny (Rudnick) find themselves on an exotic world of constant partying, mingling and cuddling, all run by the Golden Ram Man (Mariano), a mad tyrant who abhors insubordination and seeded grapes.

YouTube channel ScreenJunkies has released new content for the first time since creator Andy Signore was fired almost three weeks ago for alleged sexual misconduct. ScreenJunkies film critic and producer Dan Murrell, “The ScreenJunkies Show!” host Hal Rudnick, “ScreenJunkies News” editor-in-chief Roth Cornet, and “Honest Trailers” writers Spencer Gilbert and Joe Starr released a solemn, respectful, 11-minute video on Oct. 26 where they vowed to rebuild trust in the community and thanked fans for their continued patience.
“We’ll be approaching some semblance of normalcy slowly,” said Starr. “I think we all agree that it would feel fake if tomorrow we just gave you a ‘Geostorm’ review.”

What's going on with Shia Labeouf these days, anyway? That's the key question comedian Hal Rudnick set out to answer when he brought his camera to Labeouf's buzzed-about (and bizarre) performance art piece, #IAmSorry, where the actor has been allowing people to sit with him in a room. "Going in there, I just wanted to be honest and try to have a straightforward conversation -- hey what's going on here? I genuinely want to know," Rudnick tells The Hollywood Reporter. Further confirming his eccentric persona, Shia Labeouf has been sitting in a black tuxedo at an “art installation” in Los Angeles for his #Iam Sorry exhibit this week.
The “Constantine” actor received a visit from ScreenJunkies’ Hal Rudnick who came equipped with a hidden camera and now we can all see just what Shia is up to.
In the clip, Labeouf appears to be crying though he never actually speaks the entire time despite Rudnick’s constant antagonizing jabs.
Hal asks Shia, "So this is weird… what are we doing here? Seriously, though, what are we doing? What happened to you?"

Defy Media is on a roll. Shortly after its AWEme channel surpassed one million subscribers, its film-oriented Screen Junkies channel reached that mark as well. Just as AWEme can attribute most of its success to Man at Arms, most of the traffic on Screen Junkies is driven by a single series, Honest Trailers. We returned Defy Media Director of Programming Andy Signore to our YouTube Millionaires spotlight to talk about the Screen Junkies oeuvre. Tubefilter: How does it feel to see Screen Junkies pass one million subscribers? Andy Signore: It feels great! We have so much fun making theses shows, so to know that the audience is connecting to it all and having enough fun with us to keep coming back and subscribe is amazing. I really have to thank some of our amazing team: Editor/Director Dan Murrell, Writer Spencer Gilbert, our host Hal Rudnick and our amazing epic voice Jon Bailey.

A comedy about two bumbling serial killers? That's "Adventures of Serial Buddies," a little movie "Extra" host Maria Menounos made in her spare time with director/boyfriend Keven Undergaro. They describe it as '"Dexter" meets "Dumb and Dumber," and it's inspired by a guy Undergaro was friends with, never realizing he was a sociopath. They cast it with unknowns from The Groundlings and Improv Olympics. Menounos credits Undergaro with discovering her 15 years ago, just as he "discovered" Beth Behrs (pre-"2 Broke Girls"), whom he cast in the film without ever seeing her act. They also managed to line up some bigger names, like Christopher Lloyd, but on such a small movie, everyone, even Kathie Lee Gifford, pitched in to get it made. Moviefone: You actually knew a serial killer? Keven Undergaro: No, he wasn't a serial killer; he was a sociopath and he committed a bunch of heinous...

Zach Braff's Wish I Was Here has now exceeded its initial $2 million Kickstarter goal despite a continuing debate about who should and should not be using online fundraising. Braff has previously stated that the $2 million raised from fans is only a portion of the film's budget, and at Cannes, a big-time backer announced its involvement in the project. Worldview Entertainment, a leading film financier, will provide gap financing to help fill in Braff's budget. Braff noted in a recent interview that he plans to put "an ass-ton of [his] own money" towards to project, and with Worldview's involvement, the budget for Wish I Was Here is now estimated to be slightly more than $5 million. For comparison, Garden State's budget was $2.5 million and $3 million when adjusted for inflation--meaning that the budget difference between the two films is exactly the amount Braff sought on Kickstarter. Braff continues to face heavy criticism for his decision to use Kickstarter,...

YouTube stars are well versed in a lot of subjects, from music, to vlogging, to gaming. However, a recent video from What's Trending? makes it clear that there is one subject YouTubers know nothing about: The Oscars. A host of known names have given their predictions for Sunday's ceremony, and Wheezy Waiter's quote on the Best Documentary category best sums up every star's prognostication: "That's my prediction and I'm right...or wrong." The highlights of the video include Chester See insisting that Norah Jones will win for Best Original Song despite not being nominated, OlgaKay pitching for Anna Karenina's costumes while dressed in a giant lizard suit, and DailyGrace insisting Jennifer Lawrence will win Best Actress for no reason other than her amazing rack. There are a few solid opinions in there: Streamys winner Tony Valenzuela makes a good point about Beasts of the Southern Wild's lack of...

Next Friday is the theatrical premiere of zombie romantic comedy (zom-rom-com?) Warm Bodies, which we've been teasing all winter with news, preview clips, trailers and more. But today, we've got a bizarro twist for you: Screen Junkies host Hal Rudnick interviews Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine) about his take on zombie method acting for the film, and Rob lends a whole new meaning to the term “deadpan” as he describes how he stayed in character (“If can fool a child into thinking you're dead, then you're doing something right”). This clip also features fellow cast members Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, Dave Franco & Analeigh Tipton. Wanna see more Warm Bodies clips before it hits theaters? We've got the latest batch here, and you can watch the first four minutes of the film here.

The Honey Boo Boo circus continues to get weirder every week. In a sequel to last week's surreal episode of The Screen Junkies Show, where Seven Psychopaths stars Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell read passages from episodes of TLC's Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, host Hal Rudnick is at it again, this time turning the tables and having Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson and her enabling mother, June Shannon, read quotes from Christopher Walken films. Jessie Spano is so excited. Shel's also so scared. The most histrionic scene in all five seasons of Saved by the Bell is etched in the minds of every child of the early '90s. While Joey Lawrence's "Woah" and Pauley Shore's "Wheez the Juice" have fallen by the wayside, Spano's exclamations after overindulging on caffeine pills have stood the test of time. So, if you're someone like Dan Levy and creating a web series that's an amalgamation of your favorite early '90s sitcoms, this is a scene you want to spoof. And wouldn't ya know, Levy channels one helluva Elizabeth Berkley. In the first installment of Atom's latest web series, Dan Levy's Laugh Track Mash-Ups, Levy plays your stereotypical, naive high school student from which all after school specials are made. Dripping with impressionability, Dan dives headfirst into illegal substance abuse with the helping hand of resident bad boy,...

Conceptually clever 2 Girls 1 Cop, created and written by Erica Bardin and Susan Graham has two things going for it: hot girls and great production value…and that’s it. Not that that’s a bad thing. I didn’t mind losing the three and half minutes to watching actresses Juliana Barninger and Daina Gozen eventually undress to their skivvies to avoid a parking ticket. However, I did find the comedy in this “comedy” to be lackluster and broad. The basic concept is a spin on the car safety device, OnStar, only this one is called OnSluts which is designed to help hot girls get out of jams with the law. In the pilot, Cheerleaders 1 and 2 are pulled over by Officer Duda, played competently by Hal Rudnick. The girls are then instructed by the OnSluts, played by Bardin and Graham, via dashboard video, on various ways to convince Duda to throw out their ticket.
