Sara Ramírez is once again addressing the ongoing criticisms around their And Just Like That character, Che Diaz.
In a statement posted to Instagram on Tuesday, the former Grey’s Anatomy star emphasized that questions about the character’s development should be pointed at the series’ writers and that critics of their nonbinary character’s representation on the show should stop conflating the role with who Ramírez is in real life.
“I am not the fictional characters I have played, nor am I responsible for the things that are written for them to say. I am a human being, an artist, an actor,” they said in the post, which featured two photos of them. “We are living in a world that has become increasingly hostile toward anyone who dares to free themselves from the gender binary, or disrupt the mainstream.”

Max officially renewed And Just Like That… ahead of its much-anticipated season two finale which will feature the return of Kim Cattrall as Samantha. Season two episode 11 – part two of “The Last Supper” – finally delivers the cameo fans of the original foursome have eagerly anticipated.
Even though Samatha won’t be sharing scenes with her former Sex and the City co-stars, Cattrall will be seen in a cameo, styled by Patricia Field and shot in secret. In an interview on Today with Hoda and Jenna, Kim Cattrall confirmed that shopping in Bergdorf’s and picking out a great outfit for her cameo felt like dipping her toe back in time and having a wonderful afternoon.
However, fans shouldn’t expect Kim Cattrall back for the just-announced third season. It seems this short cameo is a one-off and not a precursor to an extended return as Samantha.

Justin Theroux has no love for his former “Sex and the City” character, Jared.
In honour of the show’s 25th anniversary, Vanity Fair posed the question of “Who was the worst man on ‘Sex and the City’?” via Instagram. The comments rolled in fast and furious, with several celebrities offering their opinions in the comments. Hilariously, Theroux roasted himself by commenting “Jared,” a bit part he played in the show’s first season.
Fans may remember Jared as an up-and-coming author who has a brief interaction with Sarah Jessica Parker‘s Carrie Bradshaw. In his quick scene, Jared appears as a decidedly uncool friend of Stanford (Willie Garson) who is apparently named among New York Magazine‘s “30 Coolest People Under 30.” He brags about his book and urges Carrie to write about him in her column — and is never seen again.

To many, Cynthia Nixon may best be known as Sex and the City’s hard-charging lawyer Miranda Hobbs. But the actor has had a long and distinguished career that includes film, television, and stage performances. She’s also long been civically engaged, even once mounting a run for governor of New York. Cynthia Nixon and her wife share this passion, having even worked on an education initiative together.
More than just Miranda

Sex and the City fans eagerly await And Just Like That… Season 2 and all the fashion it brings with it. Behind-the-scenes photos have already circulated, revealing Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) in various fabulous outfits. One reprises her notorious Vivienne Westwood wedding gown, and another honors her most famous fashion statement: the tutu Carrie wore in the Sex and the City intro. In a 2022 Vogue video, Parker dished on her dozens of looks over the decades, including Carrie’s tutu and why others associated with the hit HBO show claim to have it.

New York was its own character in Sex and the City. Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbs, Charlotte York, and Samantha Jones lived and breathed the city, as millions of New Yorkers do. Carrie often spoke of her love for Manhattan and that NYC was the “greatest city in the world.” It’s hard to imagine Sex and the City taking place anywhere else. And the show’s biggest celebrity is also a diehard New Yorker, having starred on Broadway in the ’70s and made her home there for decades. So it’s no surprise Sarah Jessica Parker’s favorite movie takes place in the Big Apple.

Not only does Carrie Bradshaw live in NYC, but her portrayer does too. Sarah Jessica Parker moved to the city when she debuted on Broadway at 11 years old. She has been there ever since.

An affair to forget?
Miranda Hobbs (Cynthia Nixon) almost had an entirely different love story in HBO Max’s “And Just Like That.”
The “Sex and the City” revival series was originally supposed to feature Miranda falling for her professor, Nya Wallace (Karen Pittman), but Nixon scrapped the idea to showrunner and executive producer Michael Patrick King.
“Originally, when Michael was sort of trying to think about what would happen in our season, he talked about Nya, Miranda’s professor, being the romantic relationship,” Nixon said in the “And Just Like That” documentary (via Insider), released February 3. “Nya was a straight character and Miranda’s a straight character and I was like, ‘That doesn’t sound very sexy at all.'”
Nixon explained that she was turned off by the idea of two middle-aged women “fumbling around” to discover their sexualities at the same time. Instead, Nixon wanted Miranda to...

In a city as huge as New York, there's comfort in a familiar face. Sex and the City has had plenty of celebrity cameos over the years (Bon Jovi! Will Arnett!) but as revival series And Just Like That..., premiering on HBO Max next Friday, Dec. 9, introduces fans to a new slew of new Satc stars, we couldn't help but wonder which former fan favorites might reappear—and what fresh faces could join the franchise. Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbs (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) and Mr. Big (Chris Noth) are all back. Carrie's Bff Stanford (the late Willie Garson) and his husband Anthony (Mario Cantone) also are returning for...

Cynthia Nixon had many reasons to be excited for her first part in a Ryan Murphy series, the Netflix horror drama “Ratched.” The actress had just run for governor in New York and wondered what was next when Murphy called her up to play Gwendolyn Briggs, a press secretary in the late 1940s who falls in love with Mildred Ratched, played by Sarah Paulson. “Show business and politics have so much in common,” says Nixon in an exclusive new interview for Gold Derby. “[Gwendolyn] is a kind of person I run into a lot in my show business life.” Watch the video interview above.
To prepare for the part of Gwendolyn, Nixon studied the life of journalist Lorena Hickok, who was believed to have an intimate relationship with Eleanor Roosevelt. “She was a queer woman at a similar time period who had a very full romantic life but also was very...
