Elle Fanning is best known for portraying Sleeping Beauty in the 2014 film Maleficent and its 2019 sequel Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. So, I am unsurprised that she chose to channel her iconic character, Aurora, on the red carpet at the 2024 Met Gala.
On Monday, May 6, Elle Fanning was among the many celebrities who attended the event, which raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates the Costume Institute’s annual exhibits.

The dress code for the night was “The Garden of Time,” inspired by the art museum’s new exhibition “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.” And I think the 26-year-old American actress captured the theme flawlessly, exuding romance and fantasy with her attire.

Noah Shachtman, the editor of Rolling Stone, appears in an undated image.
Condé Nast’s technology publication Wired has hired Rolling Stone’s former editor-in-chief who helped conceal serious criminal charges against a colleague two years ago.
On Tuesday, Wired’s Global Editor Katie Drumm said the publication is bringing back Noah Shachtman as a contributing editor, reprising the role he held from 2006 to 2013.
Drumm said Shachtman’s time at Rolling Stone saw him “[lean] hard into scoops and investigations across the entertainment industry, politics, technology and beyond.”
Shachtman earned headlines of his own last year after NPR revealed he interfered with an article that would have revealed serious child sex abuse allegations against his friend, former ABC News producer James Gordon Meek.

On October 19, The Rolling Stones launched their new album, Hackney Diamonds, at a secret New York City nightclub with Lady Gaga.
Elvis Costello and Diana Krall were seen on the balcony with the closest view of the stage.
Many other stars were present, including Daniel Craig, Jimmy Fallon, Rachel Weisz, Keegan Michael Key, Mary Kate Olson, Trevor Noah, along with Rolling Stone editor Gus Wenner and his father, Rolling Stone founder Jann Wenner.
Mick Jagger, 80, still maintained his youthful exuberance for his fans, with no decline in energy despite his age.
Six hundred fans got to hear the band power through old favorites, with songs off the new album interspersed throughout. Gaga joined the band on stage to perform their new track, “Sweet Sounds of Heaven.” Clad in platform heels and a sparkly black-and-maroon bell bottom jumpsuit, Gaga did a high counterpart and response to Jagger’s lead vocals.

Rolling Stone co-founder Jann Wenner has been ousted from his position on the Board of Directors of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. The news was announced on Saturday, following an interview with The New York Times, where he made widely criticized comments about Black and female musicians, alongside revealing other questionable editorial decisions.
Wenner is promoting his book, The Masters, which features interviews with influential artists, such as Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Pete Townshend, John Lennon, and Bruce Springsteen — none of the artists featured are female or non-white.

Magnolia Pictures has acquired worldwide rights to “Little Richard: I Am Everything” from CNN Films following its premiere on Thursday at the Sundance Film Festival.
The film from director Lisa Cortés examines the seismic impact that Richard Penniman, known professionally as Little Richard, had on the origins of rock and roll, as well as his personal struggles with his sexuality and religious faith. The film uses archival footage, much of it involving his dynamic performances, to tell that story. Magnolia plans to release “Little Richard: I Am Everything” in April.
“Little Richard is the true king of rock and roll, the alpha and omega of wild, rhythm-based music,” said Magnolia Pictures President Eamonn Bowles. “Lisa Cortés does the legend proud, getting the true story that celebrates this icon who shook the culture in so many ways.”

Magnolia Pictures has scored worldwide rights to “Little Richard: I Am Everything,” which held its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on Thursday evening. The distributor plans to release the film in April.
Directed by Lisa Cortés, the documentary explores the black queer origins of rock ‘n’ roll through the life and career of Richard Penniman. Drawing from performance footage and interviews with family and friends, scholars and fellow musicians, “I Am Everything” reveals how, as the synopsis puts it, Little Richard “created an art form for ultimate self-expression, yet what he gave to the world he was never able to give to himself.”
The film was selected to play at Sundance’s opening night, kicking off the festival’s U.S. Documentary program.
